  • How do you reduce your risk of getting lymphedema after Surgery for Breast Cancer? The information provided by various providers and online may be very outdated, so be careful. Since 2018, there has been significant changes, supported by research, to what we know is true vs what is more of a myth. Unfortunately, this can be very confusing and cause limitations and barriers to individual’s living their daily lives and quality of life.
This video is here to provide what the updated knowledge is (as of 2020) to clear as much confusion as possible. Yes, I understand it's still a controversy, but this video is my personal opinion on the topic, based on the research. Please remain respectful if you'd like to discuss other opinions.

Thank you so much for making this video, it is so very helpful to me and gives me much relief regarding lymphedema. I'm wondering if it is safe to use flat bands/resistance bands post mastectomy surgery to help with recovery, and if so what particular exercises would be helpful?

Any suggestions for early Lymphedema in the chest below the collar bone? It's easy to find videos and compress garments for arms, legs, even torso but the chest area information has been scarce. My lymphedema isn't on my cancer side, but develop after a picc line was inserted from my arm to my heart.

When I was diagnosed I had just Breast cancer and my lymph node were clear. After my masectomy I had a dude drain. My fluid went to my cut. The doctor that did the operation was told three times while still in hospital. He ignored me. Lucky I have his name and would never see him again. In November 2023 I still have flat lymph nodes. l am still awaiting radiation since my op in 2022. I am free of cancer. I have got scar tissue under my arm and it hurts badly. It's at the hole where the drain was. Can I still get Lymphedema later on. My cancer is on the side of my dominante arm.
