I have to say it’s very comforting to find your video. I was diagnosed the lipedema around 11 months ago. It has been horrible and painful! I have been hospitalized twice with cellulitis since this started. This all started because I gained a lot of weight with the pandemic. I have been trying to lose weight, which seems to be very difficult and I’m going to medical weight loss doctor soon, I’m actually still waiting for my first appointment with a specialist and have been waiting for the last four months. I feel discouraged and depressed. I just want my weeping wounds to go away. It opened up around four months ago and has not gotten better just gotten worse, there is no information about weeping wounds. All I have found is that you need to compress your legs and keep them clean which I do that anyways, but it doesn’t seem to do anything for the wounds only thing I have found that, but is a horrible process to dry out your legs. Before I knew about wrapping and compression, the hospital told me to do nothing - keep them clean but do not get them wet and try to just let them dry out and it took three months but I did that and the wounds healed for the first time they healed. Since then my wounds are back since swelling is a problem. I have wounds around my whole right leg and a little bit on my left leg and I’ve had them for a few months and they won’t go away, and I am so done and so tired of this, I just want to heal not to mention that I feel that Doctor don’t care enough to do anything for this disorder and since waiting four months for an appointment!😔😔😔😮 I was going to a Wound specialist for these weeping wounds that will not heal and I thought the whole point of going to wound specialist so they could help them heal and make them go away, the doctor would keep trying to pull the scabs off so it would not heal. Which I got really upset about because if they’re trying to scab up, that means that they’re trying to heal which they should be trying to help that right. Just recently, I noticed that I was having little wounds with pus popping up on my leg. I told the doctor at the wound clinic that it must be an infection and then I probably needed antibiotics. He said that there was nothing wrong with my leg and just ignore it. I found that to be very strange, but I listen to him for two weeks. then one morning I woke up and they had moved down my thigh and was spreading. I felt like I couldn’t wait any longer and I went to my doctor and found out that I had a staff infection. The doctor was shocked that the wound doctor did not do anything for this right away and that two weeks ago when it first popped up instead of telling me to ignore it he should’ve told me to go get antibiotics. I have totally lost trust in Doctors!! I feel like I don’t know how to take care of this the right way. The lack of help videos and informational videos for this condition is horrible. I pray every day that I’m not gonna get an infection. I have been washing my legs every day with soap, and then wrapping them up, the wounds are not getting any better. They’re not healing. Never mind the bandages are extremely expensive and I can hardly afford them. I don’t know what to do at this point. I feel extremely discouraged and depressed. Not to mention. This is a very painful disorder! I really wish there was more information out there that you could trust. I feel very lost about this.

Just a warning. I have primary lymphedema and exercise and activity is the WORST thing for it, apart from sitting on a chair/toilet for a long time. Sitting down on a bed with the leg elevated is what helps me personally the most. When I’m super sick with the flu and not moving from bed the fluid clears up entirely
I have had bouts of malabsorption and malnutrition secondary to radiation of my stomach and upper intestines. Although I have not noticed this as a primary cause of a flare-up in me (heat & humidity remain my #1), I have read where these nutritional conditions can cause lymphedema flare-ups in others, as though they don't have enough to worry about already!
A Yellow jacket or wasp sting!! I have developed lymphedema due to a severe ankle break years ago. It shows in my right toes, feet and ankle and calf. I wear otc support stockings. This summer I was stung at my elbow and a month later on my inner right thigh. I hadn’t had an insect sting for years. My arm swelled to almost twice it’s size down to my wrist and up to my armpit and burned and itched. I took Benadryl which did not really help. . Lymphedema did not even occur to me since I had/have only been having it in my right leg. A month later the inner thigh yellow jacket sting caused an even more extreme reaction. The swelling, burning, itching moved down my leg past my knee and up to my groin. The dr ordered a 6 day course of prednisone by mouth. The prednisone decreased the redness and itching, but not the swelling. But what really helped was following and doing what Kelly demonstrates on her leg lymphedema self massage drainage videos. I could actually feel the pockets of fluid behind my knee and at my groin. I could see the extra swelling in My toes, top of my foot, and my ankle. ❤ BTW I learned of lymphedema by randomly finding Kelly on RUclips and watching her videos. My pcp has never suggested / diagnosed this or offered treatment of any kind and may not even know that lymphedema is truly a thing!
I developed lymphedema 29 yrs ago when I hit the top of my left foot on the bottom of my storm door. When I hit my foot a small amount of fluid came out no blood I have suffered with swollen legs ever since with pain in my groin area on my left side sometimes I’m tired and aching just feeling like I don’t want to do anything. I recently. got a vibration plate I like the plate because I can sit or stand on my vibration plate and it seems to help my legs feel better.
Hi Kelly can you please help me? I had breast cancer in 2016/17. I had chemotherapy, I lost all my hair & developed a nasty fungal infection all over my scalp. Then I had a full right mastectomy, also lymphnode removal during my operation. This was to test the cancer had not spread into my lymphnodes. Three months after surgery, my skin became very itchy, I developed sores on my skin. I also noticed all my lymphnodes had swollen up. My feet, ankles and calfs were swollen as well as my arms hands. I went to the doctor and they said it was my osteoarthritis causing this. However I had arthritis from in my 30s and it had never flared up like this? I also never had lymphnode swelling before. Another three months and I felt awful. I felt something had taken over my whole body & mind. I had chronic fatigue and chronic pain. To a point the fatigue felt like I had a jelly brain. It's now 2022. I am still very sick. My lymphnodes are so swollen and more have a appeared on my collar bone. They are sitting together side by side. I have lumps in the palms of my hand, the soles of my feet. Also the sides of my feet. Large painful swelling at the side of my inner knee and a lump behind my knee. My whole body is swollen including my groin, stomach, where I had surgery there is a large lump at the end of the scar which turns up right to my chest. My arms legs neck jaw are so stiff I cannot move. Its like my whole body has seized up. I have a massive swelling down my left side just beneath my left breast bone. Most scary is I feel like there is a huge ball stuck in the middle of my chest and it's hard to breath. I have a lot of mucus build up and my skin is really bad. I'm worried and don't know what to do? Thank you.

When I wear my compression stockings they tend to gather around my ankles and behind my knees. They cut into my skin and it feels like a knife! So what can I do to protect my legs before I put on my stockings?
Get measured for correct size should have two fingers behind knee. Look for a wider band at the top so it does not cut into like a sausage link. My favorite one is the velcro wrap style. I can increase pressure as I push fluid up. I have a cotton tube linear when the stocking gives out. I bought a roll and wash and bleach then dry so they shrink back down.

Interesting. I did watch one of your videos on wrapping for leg inflammation and fibrosis. I am in the early stages and haven't had much swelling after getting fitted with compression shorts but I do feel I have some fibrosis above the knee so I took it on myself to get some of the wraps for this. I don't know if it's coincidental but after using the padding twice just above the knee, I'm starting to have some flare up. I stopped the wrapping and had a day or two without the shorts until the redness went away. Maybe I did something wrong. I continue the exercise and the massages.

@countrystrong - How do I tell if I have abdominal lymph edema? I have had a hysterectomy and a cholecystectomy in the past. I seem to have "blown up" recently - edema or gluttony? I don't know. >_
Well doctor's in my area of Florida don't understand why I have this issue. I was born with this. My lower extremities swell all the way down. My stomach even feels tight when my legs swell. They don't know why. And it is not covered by insurance. Disability denied me. They said I was too young and they don't understand why or what happened where it's caused me to apply for disability. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and I worked with heart patients. So they found it funny when I asked for help. But when they see my legs they send me to ER. They don't care. But I have to watch for blood clots and a stroke. So they cut my work hours from 12 hour shifts at the time to 4 hours a day. And you know the hospital didn't except my doctor's paperwork. So I had to stop working. Cause the flare ups and sometimes I can't wear shoes. And the want me to keep them elevated. A vascular doctor said get them wrap 3-4 days a week. Insurance said I had to pay out of pocket. Plus no one in our area. When I found one it's $200 that's the first visit. So know one will help unless it is like you see some people with the huge legs. That stay that way. But they said get surgery when they do t know the issue. One says poor circulation on the blood return. Even with all my doctor's paperwork they find I dressed to nice. So I give up
Just watch more of her videos on wrapping the legs with short stretch bandages( not ACE bandage ) Then order the bandages from an online store like compression health. Wrap your legs religiously on a daily basis and trust me you will see a huge difference. I also thought there was no help for my mom till I started wrapping her legs at home. And boy, the reduction in the swelling has simply been miraculous.

We have to recognize and know that diet nutrition play a big part of this I'm not going to go to against anybody else with a therapy or pharmaceuticals or anything but you have to realize you have to take responsibility of your diet nutrition eating certain foods is better for you than other foods bad foods would be bred donuts candy soda anything with a lot of sugar or starch or bread is bad it's not that it's poison but if you have a condition or you're overweight then you have to change your diet
Yes. I went on the Lion Diet which is a complete elimination diet except beef, lamb, bison and salt and water. Had a huge improvement!! Very discouraged now though as all reintroductions of food are causing issues. I can't see eating only meat forever.
Also according to diet nutrition I like to think about snacking is very bad for your health even if you would eat good food snacking with wouldn't be good so therefore you have to do some fasting like eating once every 24 hours or once every 10 hours something you have to realize that you're body needs to digest the food and then it needs to use the sugar and glucose that the body storage.

Interesting.
You can't speak for everyone who has primary lymphedema.
This is the same for me. When I lay down for long periods swelling goes away
Heat and humidity, Gravity, Lack of movement, Infection or Illness, Stretched out compression garments or stockings, Time
Greeting! I do not have cancer, BUT I have lymphedema which effects my right foot and ankle.

BTW I learned of lymphedema by randomly finding Kelly on RUclips and watching her videos. My pcp has never suggested / diagnosed this or offered treatment of any kind and may not even know that lymphedema is truly a thing!
Thank you
I developed lymphedema 29 yrs ago when I hit the top of my left foot on the bottom of my storm door.
How can you drain the lacrimal gland? It has caused an unknown mass.
Change of altitude (going into the mountains) is a big trigger for me!
What if your wheelchair bound?
I had a pinched nerve in my shoulder and it caused pins and needles, pain in my lymphedema arm.
I have the same thing its really painful. I was wondering if the pinch nerve was causing the swelling havent found an answer for that yet
Thank you.
You need to see a Physical Therapist who does Manuel
Lymph drainage ASAP ! Your Doctor can give you a transfer so the insurance will cover it!
I never heard about such a swelling affecting the hole body !
@@mechthildschoeberl4839 thank you for replying. The swelling has gotten worst gradually over the years since my breast cancer/breast cancer treatment in 2017. My doctors & oncology team have given very poor after care. Even with the fungal infection and my surgical scar getting infected after surgery. My lymphnodes in my armpits, collar bone, neck, groin are very swollen. Yet I cant get them to listen to me? It's all so frustrating and dealing with this fatigue and stiffness I have no energy to carry on trying to get help. It's making me feel worst. Thank you I feel the same I think I need my lymphnodes drained too. I will try again and hopefully I will get answers. Thank you again.
I think you should ask for scans. I find it very surprising that your oncology team wouldn't investigate the swollen nodes.
You need to find a new doctor dont give up til you find an answer . Ask people online someone must have an answer . Prys for you... call your radiation therapy team.
I think I had the flu symptoms with fever and sweating and then my legs swelled up I had all the way up to my hip and groin down to my ankle below the knee was swelling but I had pain all the way up to my hip and groin and I think it was a combination of the flu affected my right leg could that be like a kidney or a liver
Thank you for this information. I definitely found walking around when it's hot and humid would cause swelling in my wrist and arm. My compression garment helps at times. I've heard that I should always wear my arm sleeve when flying... do you think this recommendation is due to the inactivity or something else that would be troublesome? Thank you again!
@Julie jesse Carol Thank you:)
It’s because of the change in air pressure going up and coming down.
@@maurinecromwell1541 Interesting... I never thought of that! Thanks👍
My doctor seems unaware of lymphedema treatment possibilities. He says that my swollen, lumpy legs are fat. Do you have any suggestions for me?
I will recommend you to Dr Okolo herbal medicine formula
Which were are using correctly for my mum
There are really some improvement
Try to find a lymphadema clinic or specialist. A regular doctor will not know.
My surgeon says my jelly roll under my arm ,after I had 5 lymph nodes removed during my mastectomy, is fat. Thank goodness I found a lymphatic masseuse. I love your videos. Have you one that discusses foods that cause flareups in lymphedema?
There are videos on you tube that talk about Lymphedema in general and what to eat and not to eat ! Salt and high sodium causes flare ups big time !
Do some research !
From the first day I saw how things were with my family I made up my mind to be different. I was told that Edema was hereditary. But I choose to be exceptional by finding out possible cures for the symptoms I was already experiencing on my skin. But it wa
THANK YOU SO MUCH😅
I went out with a friend, who told me that my arms was swollen at first I thought it was fat, but as time went on I realized that the swollen face wasnt the only symptoms I saw. The ankles feet and legs got swollen. But with the help of Dr Iyhere everyth
Would Infred sauna help or worsen the lymphatic system?
Would worsen your condition, too much heat will cause your limbs to swell.
Seems to actually help me I have a blanket one
Good video.
Thank you
I'm just now starting my Tactile touch plus today I have Lymphatic issues in my clavicle both R and L as well as arms and belly.
I had a few surgeries that caused traumatic harm to my belly Has anyone dealt with this before?
@countrystrong - How do I tell if I have abdominal lymph edema? I have had a hysterectomy and a cholecystectomy in the past. I seem to have "blown up" recently - edema or gluttony? I don't know. >_
I used to be an IV user. I used my legs for a site multiple times. Can this be the reason for my swelling in one limb? Clean for 3 years .
Can I ask you a question Kelly
So I give up
Thanks you for sharing. We have the same story.
I recommend everyone to Dr Okolo herbal medicine formula
My Mum is diagnosed too
With the help of Dr Okolo herbal medicine am seeing good results
I feel the same way sometimes but let’s pray for each other.
My mom have lung sarcoma and she has swelling in her right lung. Dr said its lymphdema. What should we do??
i KNEW the heat made it worse .sometimes i have little weepingfrom my shins butno blow outs .since i started back to work in getting insonia and a kittle narcoleptic
Hello, you mentioned you could possibly help to find a certified lymphatic drainage specialist. I live in Southern California Los Angeles in a town called San Pedro. Thank you.
I recommend you to Dr Okolo herbal medicine formula which can cure you completely
@ Mark Rosemary-lymphadema is not curable, only manageable. If that person you recommended states he cures lymphadema, he is full incorrect information. 💩
@@jennifermcguire8867 hey that's where you are getting it wrong anyway it might be right.. but my Mum has it too.. the herbal medicine has really improve her

@Joke Kelleey - This therapist has some videos on nutritional aspects of lymphedema and also on debunking some of the mythology. Check them out.
Yes. I went on the Lion Diet which is a complete elimination diet except beef, lamb, bison and salt and water. Had a huge improvement!! Very discouraged now though as all reintroductions of food are causing issues. I can't see eating only meat forever.
😊
Also according to diet nutrition I like to think about snacking is very bad for your health even if you would eat good food snacking with wouldn't be good so therefore you have to do some fasting like eating once every 24 hours or once every 10 hours something you have to realize that you're body needs to digest the food and then it needs to use the sugar and glucose that the body storage.
Stess, a flare up of fibromialgia, salt
