Alexisonfire is such an underrated band. One of the bests of the 2000s posthardcore/emo/screamo whatever you want to call it scene. Hope they get more coverage on drumeo!
I grew up on this band and I was obsessed by them for years. They have so many certified bangers from the Pulmonary Archery years to the Born and Raised record.
Seen live about 10 or 11 times. They played dog ms blood at Budweiser stage in 2019 to end the set and it blew my fucking mind. The crowd was absolutely going bananas
The 2022 show with Billy Talent in St. Catharines was incredible. I also still hold firm that This Could Be Anywhere In The World is the best song of the genre.
This guy and AOF's original drummer (Jesse Ingelevics) are two of my all time favourite drummers. The way they rarely ever just play like a 'standard' drum beat but instead always have an interesting groove or rhythmic idea is so cool and it's part of what makes AOF such a great band.
@@onyong123 Yeah he was in a band called Lambs Become Lions (which I couldn't get into personally). Here's one of their songs ruclips.net/video/CqCpBvCAK2U/видео.html But that was a while ago, I heard he's left music altogether now.
Being a single pedal player, I like Jordan's approach. It's nice to come up with cool ideas so as to make his parts sound like a double pedal - or approximate it, anyway. Solid player. His take on Tom Sawyer was great.
Wow, Brandon, thank you so much for interviewing Jordan Hastings and specifically his Alexisonfire parts! You gave me a tease you had something in the pipeline on Facebook when I commented about him, I think you were probably at this show that you're backstage for here. Jordan needs a Travis Barker-esque backstage low-volume kit for the explanations. Kinda hard to get all his complex parts from just a practice pad and a quiet kick. But appreciated nonetheless. Hate to be like the book 'If You Give a Moose a Muffin', but any chance you can get Jordan in the studio for a deeper look at Alexis' music with his real kit? I definitely appreciate this backstage chat! Can't wait to check out the Drumeo sheet music from Alexisonfire that you added! His playing is soo complex but fits the music impeccably! Brandon Toews and Drumeo rules! More Jordan Hastings content in the future hopefully! 🤞
Alexisonfire has been my favourite band since forever and still holds top spot on my Spotify 😅 The drums are such a huge part of that band, thank you for recognising them, so nice to see so many fans
Man, Alexisonfire was a huge influence on me in my first years of songwriting. I was truly obsessed from self titled through Crisis, not that later releases weren't good, I just started focusing on other styles, but I think these guys stood out from the pack. Some might say it's all Dallas, but I think they are all very gifted. Thanks for the years of music guys, and I love your drumming Jordan! Every drummer I knew in my local scene was playing "This Could Be Anywhere In The World" after Crisis came out, such a groove :)
The intro to "this could be anywhere in the world" and "two princes" being the same blew my mind the first time i realized it just a few months ago. I swapped back and forth half a dozen times laughing. It was incredible to me
I was at the Alexis/Rise Against show in Portsmouth, UK. I went to see Rise Against but they pulled out at the last minute, so it ended up being an Alexisonfire show. Had never heard them before then, but now a huge fan. Great seeing Jordan on the channel
Met these guys in VIP Auckland New Zealand when i was 15 (shout out to Jaxon and Logan who took me to that gig wherever you guys may be) awesome bunch of dudes, awesome fucking band, played Alexisonfire tunes for over 17 years now, still going strong. Best band imo.
I love this band! and the fact that Jordan brought up freezing in the peg I think there is an amazing drummer known as Jord we would all love to see as well - make it happen Brandon and Drumeo 😃
Here in Canada, Jordan Hastings was possibly the most copied drummer when I was in high school and in my early 20's too due to his influence. The album Crisis by Alexisonfire is arguably the peak of post-hardcore/melodic hardcore music.
OMG!! I want to learn all of their songs so badly. It's really awesome to hear that he is a single kick drum guy because that makes it more accessible for me to learn. Squeee. 😍
I was in the music video for "Young Cardinals" and have the sticks Jordan played with for the video autographed from the band. Was such a fun day being on the Maid of the Mist all day (Canadian side) and was dope watching Jordan's drum fill while water was spraying down from the Falls, lol.
I saw Jordan when he first filled in for Billy Talent in 2016. They were opening for Guns N' Roses at Rogers Centre in TO. His mom used to date my gf's dad so she was trying to get us backstage but it didn't work out lol It would have been cool to meet him, but I don't think I would have been able to see the guys in GNR even if we did get back there. I was really hoping though lol

Seen them many years ago opening for Avenged Sevenfold
The. Only. Band. Ever.
I think it might be my favourite band ever, along with Tool.
Seen live about 10 or 11 times. They played dog ms blood at Budweiser stage in 2019 to end the set and it blew my fucking mind. The crowd was absolutely going bananas
Probably one of the most underrated drummers of the past 20 years
No
Ever heard of Blake Richardson? Buddy's insanely slept on
Absolutely
Their orignal drummer shits all over him
I would love to see Jordan in studio with you guys, Drumeo, doing songs, detailing parts, improvising a drum track, etc. Great canadian drummer!
dito!
I came to say this.
Here here.
Alex Rodriguez of Saosin too.
I 2nd this
The 2022 show with Billy Talent in St. Catharines was incredible. I also still hold firm that This Could Be Anywhere In The World is the best song of the genre.
Epic show!!
I went from Brazil to Canada just to watch the born and raised festival, it was awesome.
Alexisonfire has been my favorite for 20 years. Thank you so much
I fluffin’ love this band. Dallas’ vocals are sweet honey on a warm morning. Where no one knows is an anthem.
Criminally underrated drummer/band. Get him back with a real kit please!
💯!! My thoughts exactly..

Do you know if Jesse moved on to other bands? I always loved the drumming on Watch Out

@@douglassmithe9799 ya, not my favorite. Appreciate the reply!
What a chill dude
One of the most underrated bands, and one of the most underrated drummers
YES!!! Nothing more to add. What a drummer, what a band.
Holyshit this is out of nowhere. Thanks drumeo & brandon
Love to see Jordan getting the recognition he deserves. Extremely talented and underrated drummer for LEGENDS of post-hardcore. 🤘 #theonlybandever
Being a single pedal player, I like Jordan's approach. It's nice to come up with cool ideas so as to make his parts sound like a double pedal - or approximate it, anyway. Solid player. His take on Tom Sawyer was great.
Im happy this channel interviews drummers from every genres as possible and not just the easily accessible
Very cool video i absolutely love Jordan's drumming. Hope we can get a video of him drumming in the studio
Saw these guys w/ Avenged last summer. Such a great drummer to watch up close !
Great to see Jordan on Drumeo, representing Canada!
The bridge on Boiled Frogs is one of my very favorite drum licks ever. The shot to the bell of the ride strikes right to the soul every fucking time.
Was lucky enough to catch one of his drumsticks at their show down at History in Toronto. Definitely one of my fondest possessions

Seen Jordan a bunch of times, and in different bands. Such an awesome drummer.
Love this Band. Awesome vid
One of my favourite drummers of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably my favorite band that y'all have featured
So stoked to see this. Favorite band.

In January 2016 , Hastings began filing in for Aaron's Solowoniuk in the band Billy talent, after Solowoniuk had a multiple sclerosis relapse.
The intro to "this could be anywhere in the world" and "two princes" being the same blew my mind the first time i realized it just a few months ago. I swapped back and forth half a dozen times laughing. It was incredible to me
i have always loved this could be anywhere in the world. one of my favorite songs of all time.

absolute legend, my idol!
He's doing some great work with Billy Talent too. Got the chance to meet him a couple times, super great guy, and an amazing drummer.
I love watching your videos and now started my own bans because of the drummers you have taken the time to talk to
Met Jordan once after an AOF show, one of the nicest most appreciative guys I’ve ever met. He’s a legend.
Every Alexisonfire membre feel like a sweetheart...gotta respect what this band have done over the years.
Amazing to get this info but is there any chance of a full pad kit? Really hard to get the sense of the parts on one pad
What a great band and dude!
DRUMEO, THANK YOU!!! 🥹🥹🥹
We need more RatBeard content 🙏🏻
I love this band! and the fact that Jordan brought up freezing in the peg I think there is an amazing drummer known as Jord we would all love to see as well - make it happen Brandon and Drumeo 😃
Love the Elliott shirt!! Sickest band. False Cathedrals is an incredible album with some of the coolest drum parts
One of my favorite creative drummers. Everything he does just hits the spot!
HELL YES JORDAN IS SUCH A BEAST DRUMMER WITH A GREAT CREATIVITY
Here in Canada, Jordan Hastings was possibly the most copied drummer when I was in high school and in my early 20's too due to his influence. The album Crisis by Alexisonfire is arguably the peak of post-hardcore/melodic hardcore music.
The man is a beast
Alexisonfire, loving it since first time I heard it little less than 20 years ago
Wow what a nice surprise! ❤
Love Alexisonfire. Love all of their albums.
Great video! ❤❤ thanks for the tip on bias. They sound pretty good with the new drummer
Gotta get this dude in the studio for a breakdown like II. Such a clean drummer.
Classic ass band. Thanks for the awesome interview!
OMG!! I want to learn all of their songs so badly. It's really awesome to hear that he is a single kick drum guy because that makes it more accessible for me to learn. Squeee. 😍
Jordan was a HUGE influence when I was getting a little better on the drums. Love this guy's style.
Unsung Hero!!
Alexisonfire saved my life, ratbeard is a absolute legend❤👌🤘
More Alexisonfire content please 🥰
Maybe biased due to Alexis being my all time favourite, but all of them are extremely talented musicians. Underrated band.
I was in the music video for "Young Cardinals" and have the sticks Jordan played with for the video autographed from the band.
Was such a fun day being on the Maid of the Mist all day (Canadian side) and was dope watching Jordan's drum fill while water was spraying down from the Falls, lol.
Solid video!! Thank you!
Dude Alexisonfire is in my top 3 favorite bands!
What a dreamboat 🥰
This guy is so damn good! Heard him live with Alexis in Berlin. Hell of a drummer!
LOCAL LEGENDS!
Yessssssss bro with the Elliot shirt!!! Still have that hoodie from the False Cathedrals tour in like 2003 or whenever it was.
This could be anywhere in the world drum intro was the first I ever taught myself. The. Only. Band. Ever.
LETS GOOOOOO 🤘
Get him in. Get him in. Get him in. ……… please!
They were so good back in the day.
Still are. Their most recent won a Juno for best rock album the year it came out!
You gotta bring him back for an entire hour long session. The only band ever!
Drumeo you are killing it!!! I remember when that other dude used to do all the videos! Can we please get Lars Ulrich!!!
definitely one of the more mature and talented bands to come from the 2000s post hardcore/emo scene
Jersey! Been awhile since I’d heard of them. “Dana Wilson”!!
Best cut away edits ever, lol
I’m old, I went to that alexisonfire/rise against tour in Birmingham
I saw Jordan when he first filled in for Billy Talent in 2016. They were opening for Guns N' Roses at Rogers Centre in TO.
