I flew AF for the first time ever this year, return to Paris from Ho Chi Minh City in a 777-200 premium economy. The service and food was far and away the best I've ever had. The flight attendants made us feel special. I wish they flew to Australia.
I just came back from Europe on their A350-900. Amazing business class, great service, very comfortable flight and pleasant crew. Can't recommend it enough now.
Had the opportunity recently to try AirFrance’s Business class seat in both their Boeing and Airbus variants. It was astounding the difference between the two, the Airbus product I can’t recommend enough. Learning about the space differential between the front row and everything else was a pleasant surprise I had since I happened to fly in A4.
Was in AF's A220 when flying from Geneva to Paris on May 2023. Was flying business and got the left (A) seat, so I got to seat all by myself too. Not surprisingly, A seats were quickly running out before people had to choose D or F lol.
Hey Dan and Oscar, Max here 🫡 I’ve been a fan for so long ! I’m so happy to be featured in your video and glad that you enjoyed it. Au plaisir de revoler ensemble ! Max
I live in SW France and mom came to visit me. She flew from Orlando to Bordeaux on Air France and loved her flights. She said the flight attendants were absolutely lovely and she wants to fly Air France when she comes next year!
I actually just did this exact route in the exact same seats in august. The crew on my first flight were nowhere near as good as yours or my second flight. (Pre departure beverage never collected, no bread offered, no wine offered, no sugar or chocolate with my espresso despite asking for both) Small things but inconsistency really made me fume when other passengers seemingly got much better service.
I flew Paris to Tokyo and back in a 777-300 new bussines class in seat 9A. Amazing flight. So much space, nice food and very friendly crew. A pleasure. Specially being my first bussines class flight
I flew Air France business last year. It was nice but they tended to the off duty staff and not paying customers. They often had attitudes when you ask for something. I had to remind her that she didn't bring my meal. Smh
I love the way AF and KLM both try different things to make themselves stand out among themselves and among the competition (*cough cough, Lufthansa). The only problem I have with AF and KLM is that they do swap equipment quite often. You may end up with A350 with an old cabin, or one of their many 777 configurations, some of which, still has the super old J class with no individual aisle access.
As a former AF flight attendant, I remember some nations forbid breaking the seals on the alcohol compartments. Alcohol could only be served while we were airborne (and sure we were not returning to the airport for any reason). On the other hand, in countries that allow us to open, we could serve alcohol while still on the ground. This is how it was 10 years ago. Make sure to check with a current attendant in case regulations have changed
I flew Air France from Dallas to Cairo and back in 2022, and honestly even in economy/premium economy, it was great. The food was delicious, the seats were comfy enough to rest, and the flight attendants were great. Best way I've ever crossed the Atlantic Ocean, as the only other times I have was with Delta and American Airlines.
I flew economy on the 787 and it was the worst seat ever. Not sure if I was having personal orthopedic issues that day but I couldn’t get comfortable. Even sitting in two pillows.
Dan this is a masterpiece of a video! I flew Air France business class 2 months ago. Flight information: Aircraft: Airbus A330-200. Route: Paris-SXM it was the best flight I’ve ever taken. Keep it up Dan cool you like Air France business class!
He’s mentioned in other videos he wanted to become an airline CEO due to the prestige, income and ability to be in aviation. Thanks to us, he was able to make enough to sustain himself, travel and learned along the way that prestige is irrelevant.
I've flown AF business twice in the last couple of years - once from Panama to Paris(originally booked Premium I upgraded at the airport for $500), which was just superb - amazingly good food and drink (which is what I most care about), attentive but not intrusive service, and comfortable seats . About a year later I flew from Yerevan to Paris - 5 hrs+ - on a flight I paid for (not expensive) - but on a narrow-body, and the experience was very much worse - I was even served champagne with ice-cubes 'because 'it's not properly chilled yet'. But when they are good, they are very very good. And the 2E lounge in CDG... Keep up the good work.
That’s a wonderful video! May i add a lille correction though, contrary to what you said, this product is fully bespoke. It’s not based on an existing product. I know because I’was part of the design team at Design Investment the company that designed this seat. Thank you again, especially for those beautiful shots of the cabin.
Dan, I am so glad you finally decided to review Air France's latest product. I will be taking my first Air France business class flight next January to Hong Kong, and I've managed to select seat 1A, which is the exact same type of seat in your video. Great to be able to get a little preview of what's to come.
Was really hoping you'd re-review AF J again. They've slowly become my favorite trans-Atlantic carrier. Hopefully KLM will reclaim that spot someday soon.
My experience with Air France and KLM have been the complete opposite. With KLM everything was fine. Nothing too special, but nothing was bad. With Air France, it started out well with a great breakfast, but everything went downhill from there. On a 13+ hour flight I only saw the flight attendants the first 2 hours and the last 2 hours. For the rest of the flight, they were nowhere to be seen. Couldn't even get something to drink. I'm taking the same flight in 3 weeks, so hopefully, I was just unlucky.
Amazing! I went on this a year ago. Booked to go on this again because I slept so well! Amazing croissants 😘 and the room like suits Are ace 👍 I DEFINITELY recommend this. Just a reminder that I dislike is that they loose our luggage when we arrive to hong Kong, got it after 4 days. I wasn't happy with that. But overall I think airfrnac is the BEST business class out there 👍
Great review! Thanks for getting the shots of the standard food options. I was lucky enough to get two of the latest model A350 business class seats Paris-Tokyo for 70K Flying Blue miles each, late last year. A fantastic experience (apart from not being able to sleep due to the baby in row 1) - almost 14 hours and I did NOT want it to end. The food and wine is just fantastic and the service warm, friendly and professional.
Beautiful cabin, love the navy Air France uses throughout their upholstery. Also, it has been said numerous times that the A321LR/XLR can be used on busy long-haul routes when demand may be slightly lower, where a wide body would be uneconomical. I know it is fashionable to hate on narrowbodies going long-haul (but everyone still fanboys over the 757 regardless), but we need to be more fair.
This reminds me of how Jetblue created extra space in their A321neo bulkhead suites called the Mint Studio. Both take advantage of there not being a passenger in front to give you plenty of extra space and I love it
Looks INTERESTING I’d say! I am so sad to see KLM 🇳🇱 fall so far but I still believe that the Air France 🇫🇷 A350 is fabulous and AF seems 100% worth it to me! Cheers 🥂 or should I say magnifique! Caleb’s Aviation 😅
I was supposed to be on this type of aircraft earlier this year, and instead, at the last minute, they switched to an older wide body with a 2-2-2 angled seat confirguration. Luckily I was with my spouse because the arm rest distance between the two of us was smaller than the domestic armrests we had on the A321 Delta plane that took us to Atlanta to catch the Air France flight. It was a day flight at least CDG-ATL. On our flights from Paris to/from India, we had the same seats that Dan is reviewing on his Middle East flight. They were awesome for a couple so long as you book the correct middle row!
I just flew with them last week. Everything was okay, but the complete disregard for the service bell was mind-blowing. At one point, the entire business cabin’s service bells were on, but no one came to assist. I even had to bring the dessert tray to the counter myself. 😂😂😂😂 Wifi sucks, purchased the stream package but didn’t work most of the time… On the way back, the same A350 but older business seat configuration, so no door. Again everything was ok but the hardware looked so wore out, falling apart. Overall I dont mind choosing them again but just not that GREAT.
My husband and I flew IAD-CDG (exactly 1 year ago today, coincidentally) on a 777-300ER after being swapped from the A380-900. However, that meant we got moved from Row 4 to Row 1! Yay for middle bulkhead seats! We were also not offered champagne before departure, and I thought my door was broken bc it wouldn’t open before takeoff. I quickly learned that they lock them for takeoff and landing. Silly tourist girl. 😂 Because of their amenity kit, I am now a regular user of Clarins Hydra-Essentiel face mist. 😉 CONGRATULATIONS on leveling up, btw! My hubby paused on your first screenshot of the points exclaiming, “Wait, how can he see La Premiere availability? Is he Platinum??” 😅🎉
I guess you have been in different AF lounges in CDG. The one I used most recently was super crowded. Hard to even find a seat. And the WiFi sign-on is some non-standard crap that doesn't work under Firefox, so I found I had to use an ancient version of Chrome to be able to get the login page to work and hence be able to use WiFi.
Fabulous vlog…love it…you are such a kind person worrying about Oscar…I dream of flying business class and it is on my bucket list. Just appreciate that I was lucky enough to fly to Europe twice this year..take care ❤xxx
Dan! Love your videos and big fan of yours! I’m excited for my next AF trip on business class this winter! I’m dying for a review of the new Air India business class from New York to Delhi. I know I can’t trust any other reviewers than you so I’m hoping my comment gets your attention! 😅
I flew AF A350 Business out of Paris the other day. Indeed very impressed, as you say seat was very good, had the new configuration. But the food was Wow, some of the best I have had in the sky. Crew were also very good with the Purser personally welcoming us and checking towards the end that we were all happy.
Little intel, all platinium members are personally welcomed on AF flights except on business routes (like NYC, Chicago and so on) where planes have more business class seats that are most of the time all booked by frequent travelers. When this happen, the cabin crew doesn't have the time to do it and thus decides not to do the personal greetings.
WOW....vive la France! I also have never heard you so effusive about a flying expereinence! Another great review Dan, thanks for bringing Air France to our attention, it does look lovely!
I flew the AF A350 in J a couple of times this year and the transformation is impressive. I noticed that the wifi doesn't work on their A350s currently(Aug & Sep2024), I agree that a mattress pad would elevate the comfort level. The cabin is just prefect(Windows, space, non touch surfaces, cabin air pressure and humidity).
Good video. Taxing pre-flight beverages is something that the air-travel industry could do without. The tickets have already been taxed. Not a fan of CdG, but I quite like Orly.
As others have noted, seat 10A is right next to the toilet so you would hear the constantly "flushing" sounds throughout the overnight flight. Fortunately I was one row behind so avoided the problem.
About the A350 (and the 787 to an extent): the A350 fuselage is assembled by piecing together four quarters of the fuselage to make a whole segment (by comparison, the 787 is assembled by applying carbon fiber to a single unit). I’m oversimplifying a bit (the fuselage has multiple segments, but each piece of a 787 is a single continuous piece), but that should explain why the A350 feels drier than a 787.
Air France is wonderful. If I could I would only fly Air France, but alas, they don't fly everywhere. Where they do fly I only fly them. The planes are immaculate, the lounges lovely, the service full of grace.
Can’t wait for YYZ-CDG in the Spring I’ll be in 1L. Any tips for connecting in CDG? I’ll be on a YYZ-CDG-VCE itinerary and have only flown to CDG as my final destination. It’s crazy how the second seat I’m sure is comfortable but seemed so confined and borderline claustrophobic compared to the new seat.
I had a chance to be in their new business class of the A350-900 this past May. I enjoy Air France in general, and being able to treat myself to an upgrade in their new seats and in bulkhead(not window seat though) was really great! The seats were comfy, service was really good and I liked the seat storage and the wireless charging. I’ve only been in business class twice in most of my travels(once with TAP Portugal and the other with Air France again in their older business class seats), so it was very nice to experience being in a newly rolled out business class seat!
I love your reviews. It feels so authentic, raw, passionate and real and not to mention I look forward to it like the next episode of a Netflix-something. Thank you for your honesty. 🤩😍🥰
this is a very singular experience given that there are only 4 such-given seats (like 10A) in their business class hard product. Yes, it is wonderful. But would your experience have been the same in any other given regulation window seat in AF Business Class? I flew them 3x in the past spring on board the A350 in biz. It was the best experience for a European carrier (and way ahead of any US carriers that can’t hold a candle near AF). Always great and fun content and experience narrative. Thank you!
Upgraded from economy to this business class seat from CDG-LAX, sat in 1D (bulkhead). The best flying experience I've had to date. Well worth the upgrade cost.
I got to experience this new design during my CDG=>IAD flight. Superb. There's something really cool about the lit-up Hippocampe logo on the headphone compartment. Bravo AF!
We flew AirFrance in Premium Economy from Tahiti to LAX last year. It was extremely underwhelming. There was insulation hanging from the bulkhead and the food was inedible. The crew was efficient but not engaged.
I have heard, over the past couple of months that I have been on a few international flights, where I also ran into a mysterious delay in getting the door unlocked so it could be closed after take off. As you found how you can lock and unlock your door for your security, being able to close it for a period of time after take off where it acts like it's locked open and no one seems to know how to get it to work depends on airline policy for many carriers other than US carriers, that seat doors need to remain open until the craft reaches cruising altitude, at which time the flight crew can switch it so passengers can control their own doors. This has apparently come about due to safety concerns after a couple, and I mean only a couple, of incidents where planes have had to return due to mechanical difficulties and land back at their starting airport, and being heavy experienced a hard landing that caused doors that were closed to get stuck closed. Being worried that if this happened during an emergency where there could needs a fast evacuation people would be blocked. Apparently crew doesn't want this to be announced and make for nervous passengers, or passengers getting irritated when freeing the doors for use is like the last think the pilot's remember to do, they don't want people badgering the cabin crew into contacting the flight deck to remind them.
I’m taking a 13h flight alone with a 5 months old baby in a week with Air France in business, and this video gave me so much hope that I will have enough space and I will be confortable 🫶
I love the exclusivity of having the genie at the entrance of the lounge ;) [not a critique of the video, just kind of funny they parked their equipment in front of the lounge].
@@kevinmau1992 the friendlessness of the cabin crew, quality of food or indeed, the dirty floor, toilets etc should not be tolerated on any class. On that trip, we flew with 3 separate international airlines. Travelling with children then the price for economy is enough.
LOVE the new AF A350 J cabin. My one beef : The crew close off the forward toilet for exclusive crew use. This DRASTICALLY reduces the toilet/ passenger ratio AND it is about 60% larger than the two left for the business fare paying passengers. BAD look AF. Soviet era stuff! I have raised a complaint about this in my flight feedback.
I fly SFO - CDG several times a year and love Air France. The food is better and the lie-flat beds are great. On the 11-hour flight, I sleep 8 hours and avoid jet lag. I am a wizard with Flying Blue mileage charts and get the best deals. I find a Biz seat for about 50,000, but I am flexible in my dates. The costs vary enormously: the same flight costs 700,000 points one day and 50,000 the next. Here's a tip: after you select the flight and proceed to pay, you are given the option to use fewer points and pay more. So, use 60,000 points and pay $200, or 50,000 points and $300, or 40,000 and $400. Since this is a great exchange rate, I always choose to pay more money. So, I can end up with an SF - Europe biz fare of 40,000 points!! Bon voyage!
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us! This seems like a much better offering than La Premiere in terms of cost effectiveness, especially when you scored that spa! ❤
I honestly feel like air france made KLM their budget airline which breaks my heart since I used to love KLM for their extra roomy economy and yummy food and chocolate! I'm glad air france is becoming more and more nice since they are my go to airline travelling but I wish KLM was back to its former glory not a premium Ryanair!

Dan … you’re AWESOME 🙌🏻 love from Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks so much! 🙏
I admire the compassion you display toward Oscar. Not a lotta good friends outchea
Good video.
Taxing pre-flight beverages is something that the air-travel industry could do without. The tickets have already been taxed.
Not a fan of CdG, but I quite like Orly.
I absolutely love and trust your reviews! So glad Oscar was able to catch up with you!
Thanks so much Patricia! 🙏
I'm almost embarrassed to say all the times I've flown Air France have been in business class, and have had NO complaints.
Flew Air France from Montreal to Paris in the new business class. It was really great. We super enjoyed it.
The connection should be easier since you are at the front of the plane but prepare for it to take time!
That sounds like an amazing experience!
New viewer and new subscriber. Excited to be flying AF Business Class for the first time this summer.
Welcome aboard! Hope you have an amazing time!
Imagine booking business class from New York to Scandinavia and you end up on an A321 in a regular economy seat with a blocked middle seat
I got to experience this new design during my CDG=>IAD flight. Superb. There's something really cool about the lit-up Hippocampe logo on the headphone compartment. Bravo AF!
The taxi cam system should be a must for all aircraft.
Brilliant video guys, Dan your Mum is very sweet x
To have flown both classic and front seat in business class the experience in the front seat is crazy superior especially for people over 6 foot 1
7:55 I absolutely hate seats on angles. The Herring bones. No thank you. I want to face forward parallel to the plane.
ERMIGERDD!!!!
Snark!? Wit!? Humor!? Meme clips!? And a Mom cameo!?
You pulled out all the stops on this video. You'll be to 1,000,000 in no time!
Air France are now Europe's Premier Operator, They have really stepping their Game Up 😘
Korean Business (Prestige) has improved a lot in their new interiors. Modern and beautiful. I think it is flying under the radar.
Warm welcome from island Barbados 🇧🇧 thanks amazing videos informative collective thanks
We just love Airfrance, and the bulkhead seats are incredible! Really underrated carrier. Deserved a redemption after the previous review
I’m taking a 13h flight alone with a 5 months old baby in a week with Air France in business, and this video gave me so much hope that I will have enough space and I will be confortable 🫶
Dan, great video. Is there a video of Aer Lingus on the way ?
Dan, Well done showing meals that are not vegetarian for us meat eaters. Keep it up. Love the channel
We need more Max in our lives !
Hahaha
I love the exclusivity of having the genie at the entrance of the lounge ;) [not a critique of the video, just kind of funny they parked their equipment in front of the lounge].
Great content as always, Dan! 👍🍻
Lovely to see Oscar, even better to meet your mum. Thanks Dan😊
We flew with Air France from Beijing to Paris and I was by far my worse international flight ever. And this was only this year.
was that in economy
Yes what cabin?
So excited to finally fly AF business from CDG-JFK in april. I've wanted to fly Le premier since i was 16 so making my way there slowly!
Bon voyage!
GREAT VIDEO As ALWAYS DAN!!!! Thank you!!!
❣🥰
Thanks for watching! 🙏
One of the best things about your vlogs is the use of music❤
Great video. I saw yourself amd Oskar outside Heathrow terminal 3 the other day. Keep it up.
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us! This seems like a much better offering than La Premiere in terms of cost effectiveness, especially when you scored that spa! ❤
Thanks for watching!🙌
Love your positive energy!
Really enjoyed this episode. That's such a huuuuge space! and the lounge review was hilarious! Thanks for sharing. :)
Thanks so much! 🙏
i thought it was weird that air mauritius didn’t have the tail cam when i went 😭 thank you for telling me that some airlines opt out 😢
I honestly feel like air france made KLM their budget airline which breaks my heart since I used to love KLM for their extra roomy economy and yummy food and chocolate! I'm glad air france is becoming more and more nice since they are my go to airline travelling but I wish KLM was back to its former glory not a premium Ryanair!
You would have been an amazing pilot Dan! 😁
I had a really lovely set of flights with Air France, but in truth I always worry about their safety record, after a few high profile incidents.
Their safety history over the years had to be considered.
I have a random question... your glasses, I love them! What are they called ?!
Lufthansa really showing off at JFK
Air France is by far the best European airline I took during the past 3 years. And I am talking about economy class here.
