A video explaining what brands you use yourself and why or which brands you would buy at different price points for the best quality to price would be an interesting video to me
I think Joe said on Shift's IG that this is a planned series!!
Watching your channel has made me realize that there's so much more to designing a garment than I had initially perceived. Thanks for all the quality content!
I don’t care for leggings but I’m glad that the very first brand I advocated for review is already coming up! I love Vuori! I hope your review doesn’t crush my opinion lol
did it? not sure what your expectation was
@@oxoelfoxo I don’t wear leggings of course haha but and it’s a simple piece so I’d say yeah, it fit around where I gauged. I’m glad it scored higher than Gym Shark and certainly higher than alo.
I think you correctly nailed Vuori's appeal. Fabrics normally used in workout gear made into more "formal" clothes. The pants have pockets and zippers and look like nice stylish regular pants.
I love Vuori, specifically the joggers, which come in long and short lengths even. Worn them for years, long before they showed up on social media. I can attest to the fabric holding shape and not pilling even after multiple years and many, many wears. 😅 My only hope is that they continue to produce the same level of quality. Because they were made so well, I haven’t had to repurchase over and over, so it’s possible that will slowly degrade over time, because of, ya know, greed. Fingers crossed!
Yessssss! Now please do Men's Vuori Meta pant vs Lululemon ABC pant please and thank you!
abc video has been done. tldr it's an excellent pant.
Interested in the Buck Mason T shirt breakdown as well
yes
Hey, I think you would benefit from macro lens or a super close up. When you talked about bar tacks I wanted to look up close. Cheers 🎉
I really love the knowledge passed on in this channel ! It does shade lights on so many things difficult otherwise to access if you’re not part of the trade. Thanks a lot 😀
If you could do James Perse Tees it would be great, I’d love to see your analysis on these.
Agreed. Especially since James Perse is like THE tee to end them all. The pinnacle of t-shirts, if you will.
Please review Muji and Vince! I work at Vince (LA quiet luxury brand) and recommend our Pima cotton shirts, silk blouses and plush funnel neck cashmere sweaters 🙂
Just discovered the Vince cotton shirt. Lovely to wear.
Def do vuori's strato tech tee for men. They are their best sellers for tees. I never knew that clothing could be this comfortable. This discovery led me to learn more about textiles and your channel was recommended to me!
I would love it if you had videos to discuss fabrics - specifically elastane. I may be a noob, but I'm noticing a pattern with this material being so damn comfy.
Interesting. I actually love Vuori more than lululemon aligns. I find that the material of the vuori leggings gets less linty than lululemon. No issues with the waistband yet and I've worn mine quite a lot during pilates.
would love to see a discount brand vs a high end brand product comparison
🤯🤯🤯 the reason for the gusset. Learning so much from your videos. Thank you.
As someone who started seriously working out earlier this year I appreciate you reviewing this brand! My shoulders are now too broad for any other T-shirt that fits *except* vuori. My wardrobe now consists mostly of their shirts 😅
Maybe if this question was asked 3 years ago... They grew to manufacturing in four countries and several factors and have highly variable quality. They got VC'd.
Ooof. That is so frustrating
I bought a pair of vuori joggers 3 years ago and wore them almost everyday for my two pregnancies. Best purchase ever made. I’m short 5’1” and their cuff length is just right for me. I don’t own any Lu Lu lemon cus I’m poor.
Please do Lady White Co. Rugby T-shirt! Heaviest shirt I've ever owned. I think they're made in the US too
WIP Carhartt vs Carhartt hoodie! Let's see difference between them!
My new bag from cicishops feels luxurious without being flashy. A perfect addition!
I’d like to see some wear tests with how the garment stands up to a wash before cutting them up. I’ve watched quite a few of these video’s and it’s getting a little repetitive. I think because as a regular consumer I don’t care how many pieces it takes to make the garment. I want to know if it shrinks, twists, pills when washed. Also if worn during exercise, do they hold up? Just a few suggestions from me.
If able, request oner active review or alphalete review
Great video, can't wait to begin working with you guys once I start my brand .
Vuori Strato tech tee or a product from one of their signature "Dreamknit" lines. Vuori also gained a lot of attention for their Sunday Performance joggers.
Joe, would love to see you break down other Vuori products such as the ones mentioned above. Thanks for the informative and interesting channel to help us be more informed with our purchase decisions!
I thank the algorithm gods for bringing me across your channel. We're all so lucky that you're willing to share your insight with us. Please consider reviewing a Buck Mason t-shirt, such as their Toughknit line.
So far, in my opinion: I’ve been liking Vuori’s clothes so much better than Lululemon. I haven’t tried their(Vuori’s) leggings, yet. But, that is the next thing to try. However, I’ve been loving Vuori’s sports bras a long with their joggers. I feel that lululemon is literally going down their drain as far as quality and I haven’t been all that impressed with them lately and the associates in my nearest location have been rude. Therefore, Vuori is my new “go to” place.
What are the comparable brands that feel like Vouri at a different price point! I must know lol
There at the same price point as Lululemon. You can get Lululemon at “we made too much “ section for good discount price.
I’d be interested to know if Varley Doublesoft pieces are well-constructed and likely to keep their shape & if Doublesoft is a unique fabric that is worthy of the price tag
Please review Athleta leggings!
Ooooo and maybe compare them to old navy leggings since they are sister brands!
I feel like my issue with Vuori is one of the things people like about it: the fabric is so soft that it feels like I'm wearing pj's out of the house. Add to that, I don't have air conditioning, and I can't imagine wearing their ultra-cozy clothes in the middle of July.
Hi,
I have watched many of your breakdown videos, really educative and cool at the same time.
On another note, can you make the breakdown of the clothes (may be 1 legging and 1 man pants?)from the brand “Fabletics”. They had many big celebrities as their brand ambassador such as Kevin Hart.
Hopefully will see you break those down soon.
Peace✌️
Please review Lorna Jane leggings!!
Please do the Vuori Mens Kore short. Great stuff bro!
arcteryx alpha jacket
Please review PACT.
Would you be able to expand on whether it would cost the brand more to have a wider range of sizes? i.e. Whether it's justified to have the XL-XXXL sizes pay more than the XS-L?
Are you planning on doing shoes as well?
Review a Sunspel made in England t-shirt
Can you do a review on the Robert Barakeett Tee!? I’d love to know your thoughts on them.
Love Vuori!
What T shirt are you wearing the texture looks so good
Hey, what brand t-shirt are you wearing? It looks high quality
I would love to know if the Spanx Air Essentials wide leg pants and quarter zip are as good as people say they are.
Bingo words I was not expecting on RUclips today. Camel toe. 😆
Fascinating details about design. I will never look at garments the same way ever again. Also when it comes to cost, I have a better idea of why something costs more now and why.
Great content, could you review Casablanca ?
Can you please please review oner active, specifically the effortless seamless and unified leggings. I bought leggings from them and they fit so well but I heard they use bad materials
Vuori men's pants please!!
Can you review the new State and Liberty joggers?
would have been nice if as you were going along you explained whether the structure was ideal ir not.
any reviews of du/er? what other brands are similar to lululemon/vuori that don't suck?
What are some good sources for fabrics?? Looking to make my own one off pieces/samples but not sure where to find good quality fabrics. Hard to tell with websites.
Id like to know what you think of the men’s brand ASRV.
do you have a review on Zelle leggings?
I wonder if you could talk more about the manufacturing cost vs sale price? I don’t really know anything about pricing, and I’m guessing if it was egregiously disproportionate you’d mention it, but hearing it costs $7 to manufacture something so expensive makes me a little annoyed at the company haha. I imagine there are lots of other people along the way that have to be paid and it’s probably a more reasonable price than it seems, but I don’t know a lot about those steps.
Which are the brands you think are better for activewear/comfortable loungewear?
What do you think of the toxic chemicals / pfas found in clothing?
would be cool to see men's leggings breakdowns. For example lululemon fast and free or bandit tights.
Would you guys do a video going through the design, manufacturing decisions that go into making womenswear vs menswear?
Conversely, what makes for something to be “unisex”?
If a brand puts out an item that’s available for both their men and women department/lines, what tends to be the adjustments if any that they make?
Seems more common for Asian brands (E.g. Uniqlo) to show both a male and female model modelling the same item on the item’s e-commerce page.
Also, would you guys take a look at Muji? There seems to be a narrative that it’s just a branded markup (I know, the irony) on generic manufactured goods without any real input from Muji to justify the markup. That one could buy the same item from the factory source at a fraction of the price Muji charges. Curious if there is something that Muji does add.
Thirdly, maybe a video looking at garments manufactured in the past via something made today with perhaps the current typical standards and materials? Are the old stuff really made better? Has tech and manufacturing made that much of a progress in terms of making better clothes? Or just more cheaper, throwaway clothes?
12:47 Lastly any chance you guys may be able to get hold of a macro camera lens (or even just a cellphone macro) for segments like this to more closely show what’s being pointed out? Or perhaps even a microscopic view if that’s relevant to the point.
Thank you for the videos! Fascinating stuff!
Do COS quality check pleaaase!
Do you mind reviewing a South African clothing brand “MaXhosa” or “GalXboy”?(please). The owner of MaXhosa claims they use different techniques for their clothing that’s why it’s so expensive
Micro-filament polyester- does that not mean pilling very quickly?
There's this pickleball reviewer that I watch thst really loves this brand so I look forward to this!
Do popflex! My favorite
can you review sweaty betty
Do beyond yoga leggings
Next product suggestion, not a mainstream brand but has a cult following. Would love to see analysis on Outlier products, any of their pants or shirts.
My top companies for performance textile selection is arcteryx, lululemon, and outlier.
I would like to see you take apart an icebreaker garment
Lady White Co review waiting room
john smedley or sunspel
Where the 'list'?
I tried vouri leggings but found them too sheer, could see panty lines. To me this makes both the product and person look cheap and trashy. Plus knowing the waist band can start to break down after 10 washes (so like two-ish months for me if I use them weekly), that's very poor return on investment. I've been using lululemon for 18 years (!) and never had either issue. I still have the first shirt I ever bought when I was 16 years old, and still use it frequently. I wish the quality from those days would come back.
good video
What does the tattoo on your left arm say? 👀
9:45 pursue the impossible
Arcteryx Atom LT
Or the Patagonia Nano Air. Maybe even together so we can see the differences
505 levi's jean from costco vs 505 jean from levi's store comparison. should hide where jean is purchased from to be unbiased
Simple answer: NO, because Lululemon offers WAY more sizes than Vuori. Would love if Vuori made my size.
Uniqlo wide fit chinos or wide fit pleated plants sometime!
Love the videos
The way lululemon fits is dreamy and always forgiving - Vuori not so much
I think they are subcompany of lululemon
By subcompany, do you mean that you think Vuori is owned by Lululemon or that they make an inferior product to Lululemon? If it’s the former you can “think” what ever you want, but facts are facts and Vuori is not owned in any way, shape or form by Lululemon. If you mean the latter, well that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to think that.
@@MeItsMeLol no I used to work for lululemon and know some high up assign to grow vuori. Either way I don’t care much about either.
Labour cost down. Be careful. Ethical fair labour may not not there
I’ve been wearing my lululemon leggings for years. Just the other day, I had to throw out my 1-year old vuori leggings after the stitches started to come out 💀 They are poorly made
They lost me at 72% polyester.
No spend on leggings!
Plastic. Go for more natural fiber. Why? Plastic breaks down to microfiber
Another over priced crap.
Pronounced "vee-aw-ree"
i think pill test would have been good to see
Yes it would have been. Vuori leggings are known to pill in some styles.
Why do you take the trouble to go into so much detail and then always fail to include the volumes necessary to achieve the production cost you estimate… your estimate is almost worthless without giving a volume number.
Please do an episode on what impacts MOQs and how they vary depending on manufacturer and item.
