I’m a 2/3 but also some 1 - I want to be able to read and play - I wanna play nerd game music and movie music - I feel like I will just take my time and try to enjoy the journey.
Keeping your mind going and a bedroom player with a bit of classical? I love game and movie music! It’s the classical music of today, there’s a lot of depth in it 😊
Such a great video Matthew! The thing about the 10,000 hour rule is it must be focused and therefore having a plan for practice as you said is crucial... Time, repetition, consistency and focus...
Once again very surprising to see that nobody is watching this video.. I thought your subscribers are learning the piano….i guess they already can already play like myself and just like piano content. This video and your general advice and critiques of people trying to learn are perfect for a friend of mine I am definitely recommending you to any adults I know that are thinking about trying to learn piano as an adult. I don’t think it is very realistic because they have already reached adulthood without enough interest to start playing….andalso it’s harder then you think…..10,000 not necessarily maybe more hours. The keyboards people are trying to use when they start just show me they have a huge uphill battle. One guy played for an entire year on a tiny toy piano suitable for a 3 year old no a 2 year old. Spent his time learning on a 5 dollar toy.. it had 49 tiny keys but even for tiny keys they were cheap this keyboard did not have a brand. after one year he upgraded to what he described as a Casio…..I don’t know if it is an 88 key or one of those cheap keyboards I see in these videos. If you are trying to learn the piano and you don’t even know that sounding good is part of being a musician…………….I can already see that the people who need to see this content are getting the cheapest piano possible and trying to play fur Elise until they quit or make an pretty weird video that basically shows it takes them 6 months to figure out they need a piano to learn how to play the piano and buy and the proceed to try and gain clout by out doing the other people that have the skills of the average 11 year old…. You make some of the best content for adults on RUclips but they are probably too busy trying out all those methods that promise them the easy way to learn the piano without having to practice or learn theory……..I have never met anyone with your skill set that took up playing the piano as an adult… the only guy who comes close to playing the piano in way that other people would want to hear is that Brandon hawkley guy and I thought he was the only guy ever.
