A very good addition to the Intruder upgrades! Just recently received a 2001 suzuki VS1400 Intruder here in the winter months in the US. Needs a a lot of work from sitting! carbs were gummed up. The seat, tires, fuel lines are weathered etc. Thank you so much for the content, very informative and detailed. Subscribed and liked.👍😀
Wanted to update my post after installing the kit. Remember to get a rebuild kit for the caliper if you get it used. I also switched the front master cylinder to one off of a 2006-2009 suzuki m109r. Gave me a bigger piston bore and adjustable thicker levers. This gave a better, harder feel to the brake that engaged earlier away from the handlebar. The finish is more matte than the stock master, so it doesn't perfectly match. You can swap the brake light switch with the old master which gave me proper brake light functionality. Only done a couple rides, but definitely better than the stock brake. Also did a wider bar swap on my s83. Those stock drag bars are cancer imo.
Dude, I changed the stock caliper to the Tokico 6 pot last year and the stopping power is day and night. Gone is the spongey brake lever, wallowy brake feedback, none existent braking... Well worth the upgrade, just inspires confidence knowing that your brakes are actually going to work instead of heat fading and crapping out. Put plenty of miles on my bike with the change and its still spot on I got my adaptor from Germany, TUV approved as well, not sure if they have patent on it but they've been making it for years. They stock a whole host of parts and can do a full brake set up including the replacement hose you'll need.
Hi Paddy, please can you inform me about the website where you find the adaptor? it's the same one of the video? Thanks in advance. Regards Gianni from Canary Islands
I did this 6 pot on my 1400. Bought it used but refurbished. Just one thing on these Tokico, it’s a shitty system holding the pads, so they “rattle” in their seat, after years of wear.

Is there any upgrade for the rear brake? Since that is such an achilles heal on the VS1400
2 года назад
Hey, great question. There is an upgrade but it involves a custom bracket from thunderbike or AME that requires quite a hefty change to the hydraulic pipe and the caliper itself etc. Once I get to fitting one, I'll be sure to film it ;)
It is an awesome upgrade I must admit but not plug and play upgrade really. The brake line will have to be replaced entirely as it is about 5 inches to short I find. The fitting that comes on the factory two pot will not thread into the 6 pot as they use different threads. Now in Canadian dollars I am quoting to do the following it has cost me a few bucks. I rebuilt caliper and also sanded and painted caliper with all high heat coatings primer, color and clear coat. I had to buy new line for about $100.00 and new pads and the adapter. I have not installed as of yet as am waiting for the line to come in as of printing this. It is a great mod as this bike does lack brake power that is a pure fact but not as easy as it seems. In total I figure I am into this mod for about $430.00 bucks but then also I wanted it to look like a factory installation not a add on.

It is a fantastic mod, the stock line can be adapted with a simple nipple to banjo adapter which will allow you to attach the stock line to the 6 pot ;) Cost about $25.
