This is true and im not even joking when i say this, bladee started the whole ambient thing before anybody thought it was cool.
I remember the day I got the invitation to a BBQ in my neighborhood. I was nervous to go but eventually synched myself up enough to walk down the block to join, I hadn't been in a large social gathering in a while, it was 2022 and we were really cautious of the pandemic and all. But I figured just going to a small backyard BBQ would be fine. But once I arrived something felt amiss, I could tell the energy was weird like everyone was on one radio frequency that I couldn't tune into. Then, suddenly, three young Swedish boys came out and started playing the most beautiful music I had ever heard, and then I drained, we all drained. Everyone in that backyard started to drain, and I will never forget my time at the Drainer BBQ.

@urkoma 30 tracks but it’s only 1 hour long. I think what put me off was how boring and repetitive all the f1lthy beats feel one after another, some of them don’t suit bladee or fit well imo.

As a hardcore bladee fan since the beginning this is a contender for best Bladee album for me. It’s the Bottomless Pit of bladee albums, has all his recent styles but also has its own style.

im glad you actually talked a bit about the lyrics cus i think bladee’s lyrical style or the ”bladeeisms” as you called it is one of the most important aspect of why ppl enjoy his music and it's definitely influential on artists like sematary/haunted mound and a lot of underground rappers. and i also think crafting your own universe of references and ideas really makes ppl obsess way more about your art

it is unfortunately the worst song, and doesn't fit in the album, but understandable why its in the tracklist. Still a good song. Album is a perfect 10/10 without DOA

i'm a big drainer and the long tracklist definitely made it harder for any particular tracks to stand out as instant classic hits for me. might change my mind on second or third listen. personally i'd rather have longer songs with a shorter tracklist if bladee's gonna make an hour long album

Funny, this album was like an onion for me. From the outside, it’s just an onion. Okay, cool. Nice onion. Once you start to cut it up a bit it really stinks, if you slice it sideways it has rings like a wise old tree, if you cut it the long way, you see that there’s layers to this shit, and if you cut it all the ways and dice it, it’s pure meaningless and is just ready to be used as in ingredient for some yummy ass dinner.

If you step away and think, where did this onion come from? Where are its roots? Then follow it through its life cycle. You’ll start to see how he really came from a seedling to an onion to dinner on the table to the cheff. One day he’ll be the dirt feeding the onion for someone else. Maybe even for you. just gotta lay the seed.
As of late I've hardly ever listened through an entire album, just cause I enjoy the variety of playlists. Then this comes along. Did I think after 12 tracks that it had to be the outro ? yes. Did I still listen through all of the 30 tracks without skipping any? YES. Maybe 1 or 2 weaker tracks over all, but extremely consistent and creative imo, IF the vibe is something you can get caught up in

This is bladee at his most emotional and self aware, I love so many of these tracks. Truly one the best things he's dropped since crest.
If this was called KIDS SEE GHOSTS that would be weird because there is already an album called that.

man i would've loved to hear some more thoughts on the tracks u actually did like, felt like u spent most of this review talking about the length of the project or the brevity of the songs themselves and like i get it. but i think vocally and stylistically he tried some interesting stuff here that added something new to his catalogue, eg tracks like I Dont Wanna Hang Out, Flexing & Finessing, Red Cross & River Flows In You.
I also think there's something to say about the James Ferraro production credits and the way they worked on the transitions for this mixtape, it really flows in a cool way similar to Icedancer and makes the sonic similarity or brevity of some tracks still work well within the album context. And I know u dont fw Icedancer or any of his early stuff, but "pitchy autotune" etc is part of what makes the projects good. The "flaws" are all part of the appeal. But I suppose u know that by now
Literally I play one track of this album and it flows so well that I end up staying til halfway or even til the end if I started on the second half
