EU is not a superpower because they are too fragmented. Also NATO is ineffective in its own backyard. Russia poses a major challenge to them. Main power among EU nations is Germany.

I’m a Chinese, and I’m sorry to hear this kind of things about superpower. China is a developing country, and we don’t think anything is developed, considering it could always be better. We do not seek for the power or something over others. The only thing we wish is a peaceful and thriving world with order and control. Whole human beings unit as one, use the same language, believe in the same civilisation and share the same dream. It may be a long and lonely journey, but we are here, with hope.🙂

Superpowers are funny. The US spends more then the top eight combined but can’t win a war against a couple hundred thousand Afghans in tents with Cold War equipment
liam quinn kinda hard when they hide behind woman and children and dress just like the normal people in the area.
That depends on how you define "winning a war". If you defined it by pre-20th century standards, where winning meant the installment of new government and military dominance in major cities , then the U.S has already "won" the war long ago. But if you defined it by the new standards people use nowadays, where winning means zero social unrest and confrontations within the entire country (which in my opinion is complete nonsense), then sure, the U.S still hasn't "won" the war. Same thing happened in Vietnam, the U.S forces never lost even a single major combat, but people tended to think the U.S lost the war because they abandoned it.
It's harder to fight terrorists because they look and act like civilians, while a proper army does not, if it was a war between the US and a actual military, the US would do much better as they try to contain civilian causalities to a minimum. Basically, if they US went in just to kill everyone, they would have much easier won the war, only thing stopping them are their morals.

This Indian reporter is biased or at least she knows she's lying. Russia is not a geopolitical manipulator. Russia and India are close friends. India enjoys a close relationship with Russia and a neutral sometimes deteriorating relationship with the US and China. The US and China sought to influence India and control it, but India wary of imperialism chose an independent path and friendshipped with third world countries like the Soviet Union to keep the US and China at a distance. At the same time, India also welcomes support from all nations regardless of ideas and alliances. With this and as a Democracy, India is growing and enjoys a golden age of peace and prosperity. India's decision shows that it is the leader of itself, a leader to the world, and not a puppet to anyone. It is like Russia, not a puppet to the US or China, and yet it is still very strong.

With a corrupt government, a massive and difficult to maintain population, a large portion of which are under the poverty line and awful infrastructure. There are really only certain developed areas were the country shines. Otherwise, India has a few decades and a reform of their government before they can become a superpower.

Well in many ways Germany took down Britain and France with it after WWII as after that war Europe was finished as a whole as the USA and Soviet Union replaced them despite Britain's waning influence with its colonies like India leaving a few years after which nailed the coffin of the UK's Empire.
Well , the dominance of the US on Britain and France is not that total. Britain and France , while being only "secondary powers" are still holding hard powers assets that are the ones of global powers. In the naval view , the deployment of the "Force Alfa" for the nuclear test in Polynesia , or the recapture of the Falklands islands are examples that the sun is not yet set on the remnants of the two empires. In the political and diplomatic view , France still hold a fierce place (like the Paris Agreements in 2015) and i don't have any examples for Britain , but i'm sure there is a recent example of strong diplo power for the UK.

South Africa is also the only African country in G20. Nigeria might have the largest GDP, but a country with a large population will have a larger economy. Per capita though, South Africa leads Nigeria, and SA is also the most developed of the large countries in Africa. More developed than Egypt.
