  • The only gifts the first priests had to offer the world was what God had given them.
Holy Thursday marks the beginning of the final stages of Christ's Passion. But it also marks the institution of the Eucharist and the Priesthood.

For someone who says, “I got nuthin”, this was really “somethin”. What amazing perspectives you shared in this sermon! Thank you, too, for your quotes from Pope Benedict XVI, masterfully weaving them into your message. Much appreciated. God bless you & all good, holy, priests! We could not survive without you!🌹

Fr Mike. I had to pause at only 4 minutes in, to write this comment. And more than likely you'll address this later in the video, but it was in my heart now.
Please please please know how many lives you touch (Via God working through You obviously) and how many people you have Led to Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit!. Probably so many more than you could ever realize. I go to mass and to church and I listen to the different pastors on hallow and you tube etc, but YOU (again I realize through the holy spirit)....BY FAR have always spoken to my heart in ways that no other priest in my life has. There are days I cry because it seems like your entire homily is directed right at me. I sit or stand there thinking, how could he know this was exactly what I needed to hear? (Also again realizing it is actually HE who knows what I need to hear, but yet it's coming through you). So I'm trying to say YOUR interpretation of many homilies is what brought me to Christ. Brought me to a church. Brought me to the Eucharist and confession. NOT the other interpretations and homilies I heard from other priests on the same topic, but 95% of the time YOUR HOMILY specifically have been the one that seems to reach inside me and resonate with my life. To give me the guidance that I needed at that exact moment. To provide me with exactly what I needed, answers to prayers.
Please know that the Holy Spirit, Jesus and God are truly working through you in the most astounding ways. I had fallen away from the Catholic church for 20+ years. I also pretty much fell away from Jesus too in the fact that I wasn't regular in any form of church or prayer or anything at all. But when he called me to come back to him last year, I had no intention of ever setting foot in another Catholic church in my life.
That being said, It was actually one of your videos that convinced me that when I came back to the church, that it needed to be the Catholic church (which I had been born and baptized and raised in as a child).
But I also want you to know that upon returning, man oh man, I was lost!!!! It had been a quarter of a century so everything seemed so unfamiliar and overwhelming. So when I returned it was YOU and your videos that helped me so so much to want to continue the journey. Granted I know God's grace through the eucharist and confirmation and everything else was important too, but you as a priest. As God's hands here on Earth, as a relatable/personable apostle of Christ who has this gift (from God) to evangelize and share wisdom and knowledge and guidance, through God's grace. You then helped me with my baptism classes when I baptized my sons shortly upon returning to the church. You have been there for catechism for my son, for confirmations. You have no idea just how many people you have led back to God! Conversions and those who were lost and fallen away.
Also just so that you know my 8 year old son absolutely loves when I turn on YOUR Homilies. Sometimes when we are in the car I'll put one on my phone on speaker and tell my boys "ok we are putting on Father Mike" and excitedly from the backseat I'll hear them exclaim "yay!!!!" Or "I like father Mike he's funny" I've also heard "I love him" and "I want to give him a high five, he's cool". But that's so important because of that they LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT JESUS AND GOD AND THE BIBLE. Learning the Catholic faith for them is not redundant or boring or a series of sit, stand, kneel and be quiet, or memorizing words. Does that make sense?
So please please please know how many people you have helped and connected to all over the world. To bring them closer to Jesus.
To help instruct them on the faith in ways they can understand and connect with. To make them feel welcomed and loved as Jesus would have. And also know that half way across the country there are kids you don't even know of, that love you and love Jesus too through your work for Him. And that's a really powerful and amazing thing.
And even if you don't ever see this comment, I just really want it out there in the universe so that maybe if you ever need a boost in your own spirit, the Holy spirit leads you to it, just as He lead me to you.
Happy Holy Week Father Mike from our family to you!

Hi Fr. Mike. Thanks for being so honest -- I believe you 100%.
I realize that priests are human too, and there were some priests whom I disliked... but have since made a promise not to dislike any priest.
You're very popular and honest, and I think that might create some antagonism among the clergy. Sometimes I feel this way about some parishioners too, but I just dismiss the thought.
God bless you and all priests for all that you do.🙏🙏

As far as priests being nice, kind etc they most certainly should ( just like any other believer)...it's the fruit of the Spirit.
" But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control..." Galatians 5:22-23
