I've been in love with Linda R. forever, and in my case many years. I've never seen her or any woman look more beautiful than she does here. And, she sings great also.
I have followed Linda Ronstadt's music since I was 19 years old here in Los Angeles and I am almost 78 (in October) and she is now 78 Today July 15. I know she no longer sings but her music will live on and on to come,
What a beautiful version of this song. She had such a dynamic and far ranging voice. A voice for the ages - there will never be another one like her. Linda you are loved and your music will live forever.
I remember watching this show and at the time it was quite shocking that she was in a mini-outfit barefoot onstage singing before she joined Johnny Cash because people were not used to seeing that but when Linda opened her mouth and sang all were hypnotized by her stunning voice.
Johnny Cash IS a legend...Ronstadt however is another leftist has been.......like Barbra Streisand. I thought it was funny when much of the audience walked out when she launched into an anti Trump tirade...ON STAGE.
All the musicians that encountered Linda were devoted to her. She had tremendous musical chops, a remarkable natural beauty in her voice and her soul. She made us believe almost everything she wrapped that voice around.
She was nice too. It is an old-fashioned concept but she she so was. Emmy-Lou Harris experienced that niceness when Gram Parsons died. Linda was such a good, kind, loyal friend. She looked after her musicians too, recording their songs (Andrew Gold, Little Feat and others) and just supporting them. I saw a concert recorded in Central Park and Linda was like a fond mother with her boys; bouncing around the stage and show-casing all their music. She was one of the most generous, selfless musicians I have ever seen. I so wish her well now she can't sing. She is a better person than me so she will find causes till the day she dies.

In her great spirit she still is, even though she's so ill with Parkinson's that she can't sing anymore. As for Johnny Cash, he in his way looks very handsome here. He, too, cut quite a dashing figure in his day.
Growing up in the 1970s, I always enjoyed listening to Linda Ronstadt's music. It's very sad that Linda can't sing anymore! Shame on the ones who made such cruel comments about her! Linda didn't ask to get Parkinson's disease!👧

Yes, I agree. Linda was gorgeous as a young girl. I wanted to be her. She has always sang wonderfully, giving every song she sings its due. That is a given with Linda. You are so right in what you say about her now. She remained and is thoughtful, opinionated and kind. People don't change radically over time and Linda hasn't. She is still that sweet young girl at some level despite the on-the-road experiences, the loneliness, the broken relationships and the terrible illnesses. Now I am seriously impressed by her brave, pragmatic attitude to serious illness and pain.
una mckillen Thank you Una. Being two of Linda's legions we appreciate just how rare a songbird she was and what an original earnest woman of great beauty she remains. You are from across the pond? The UK has always been a bit weak in its devotion to Linda until recently and she does have some rabid fans over there. Wonder why since she is considered by so many in the US, Canada, Australia, Japan etc. to be perhaps the finest female vocalist in American popular music history. To be 12 years old and see this performance and see her live as a teenager in the US rock in' the house was very transformative. The fact that she still has some pathetic men who can't understand why she is not that girl anymore on the poster or album cover just makes her more interesting. I rarely see such misogynist like comments about other female performers of a certain age. People still obsess about her. Mostly though if you know her music beyond the many hits she is deeply well beloved. Cherrio.
+woodrow Yes, I am one of Linda's legions and to me she is unique in the world of pop/rock. No-one has compared. I am from the UK and we are a bit feeble when it comes to Linda. I discovered her in the 80s and now no-one I talk to her has heard of her. I urge them to listen as they are missing a treat but! Well, they don't. The man thing is interesting. I really do think that men's most vitriolic stuff is reserved for women who were once beautiful but did not "steward their beauty (yes, a comment on You Tube.) Like Linda could control those illnesses and the physical changes they wrought (My father was a lovely looking man all his life until he became ill.) Linda could no more control those changes than she could control whether she continued to breathe. She is now in her 60s, not her 20s so even if she were not ill, no-one could expect or even want her to be a "babe". I think she is still beautiful because she is still brave, pragmatic, outward-looking and kind.
Oh my God,I I was little and I grew up on the east coast when Linda was a mega star. I use to always see that she sold millions of records. I heard a few of her songs. And all along in my life I seen clips of het hear and there. But it wasn't until I saw this video that I seen her in full. Oh man us she super gorgeous. If this take naked me seem like a nerd man. I am not,I just never saw any pictures or videos like that. Double Wow.This is a icon on the level of Elvis, Jackson & Sinatra. How can you be that blessed to sing like that and look like that. There are some people that God gives everything to.
if Linda's hair was still dark I would say she looks just the same as she always has to me for the last maybe 40 years . Linda your just as beautiful today, thank you for all the joy you have given us.
I love the way that when they are singing at the same time they are looking at each others mouths... I've seen this with musicians watching each others instruments but perfect synchronicity here.

una mckillen Thank you Una. Cherrio.
+Kimberly Bunch I so wish that was true. Youthful, wishful thinking. I do think real ugliness shows on the face.
I had a poster of Linda on my wall when I was a teenager. So beautiful.
I’ve loved Linda for over 50 years. God bless her.
if Linda's hair was still dark I would say she looks just the same as she always has to me for the last maybe 40 years . Linda your just as beautiful today, thank you for all the joy you have given us.
This duet is beautiful!!!
Hi Cynthia hope you're okay?
Thank you Linda, and thank you Johnny for that duet 👍🇺🇸 This right here is how music should be done 👍
I love the way that when they are singing at the same time they are looking at each others mouths... I've seen this with musicians watching each others instruments but perfect synchronicity here.
What beautiful harmozing John & Linda, this is true Country
A blast from the past for sure. Cool to watch the 2 of them together. Man - Linda Ronstadt was a great singer, and a total Knock-Out!!!!
When you had NO autotune they were the REAL DEAL
Simply wonderfull
As a physics professor, I enjoy natural oscillations.
You know that, back then, most variety shows had lypsinched performances, right? What you now call "autotune".
Omg, she was so beautiful. Time is such a monster. It gets us all in the end
This is how I will remember them. Young beautiful and healthy. We that were around then were so very lucky
Hello, So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song. How are you?
This is How We Should Remember all of Our Stars! Eternally Beautiful :)
