I've been a racecar fabricator for well over thirty years and the Tin is always one of my favorite parts of a build, your friend Greg did an awesome job given the circumstances and limited equipment. The car turned out awesome!
We all know the "reality shows" can take months to build or restore cars. You guys just knock it out the park with the Savoy. We'll done Alex, DT and Greg.
I think that what I am getting out of this segment is that...old school experience with manual maching in conjunction with common intelligence is paramount in making a build work. I am a 74 year old manual/cnc machinist..I see what is being done here and it is in step with what machinists have ben doing since the bronze age. We make it happen. done. thanks for the video..however that happens..lol
You guy's are freaking amazing. The quality, the detail, the speed, etc. I can't even imagine the actual dollar cost if someone came to your dad's shop and said, this is what I want, in this many days. I have a feeling that, after the check cleared, y'all could retire to your own private island... LOL
hey i know that guy, whats up Greg. ive known Greg since his chevette days 2of the baddest 55s on the planet. you and your dad and Greg are some of the best builders out there.
You could be only partially intrested by car builds, sheet metal and tubing fab work, etc, and still this build is even more impressive than the 55 Chevrolet. No trick 30 years of experience fiberglass or composite magic from the Taylor family, but a plain ole' shell it out and warm up the tubing bender build, all on a short time schedule. Dodge and MotorTrend certainly got their moneys worth here. Hopefully the car will hang around in the public eye for a while. Very nice..
👍👍👍 I just finished watching you at ROAD KILL wow what an event. and yeh you got a lot of Props. much blessing. keep giving it your all. Thanks again to your Family of friends who make it so Great. Peace.
I stumbled across your channel watching a story Vice Grip Garage & Flying Sparks Garage were covering. I'm an old handicapped man who did LOTS of different jobs over the years and and was good at what I did. Your 55 Chevy series caught my eye and I've been devouring the episodes. I want to thank you for all the videos you shot. I was never in that type of career, but was always intrigued by it. Your Dad is absolutely amazing. Thank you for taking the time to share all that. I new there was a lot that went into it, but I seriously had NO IDEA. Looking forward to checking out all of it and watching you both race.
It's a crime that you have only 101,000 subscribers-you should be closing in on a million. Maybe you need one amazing video that will get shared everywhere?
Loving the Savoy build! Bringing back memories of the family Belvedere, which is the 4 door cousin of the Savoy, back in the day. Same color and everything. Your quarantine garage team is AWESOME! Keep up the great work!
you and lucky together? well he's awesome and you as well. it takes another person to bring him out of his shell. to me i think this will be a wonderful match.
Tony at Corruptt Builds was, In my opinion, Alex's nearest competition at Roadkill Nights challenge... Tony should have, could have, would have beat Westen but, Tony lost against Westen due to missing third gear... a gut punch for sure.
Yall a bunch of A - mazing peeps. Dennis 😎 so cool under pressure & covid positive tested, Greg way to go and go and return with the goods, also covid positive. And Alex, you are a tuff cookie! 💪 for sure, covid positive also. I like that you called the tiny bay, the quarantine garage❕️😛 It's tough enough on a good day to remember what's what and where your going, but with the covid, getting kicked to the sin bin of a shop, having to make tools, ( nice tube notching Dennis) finally getting a rhythm, bang, go get an argon tank filled, to test fit this, did you finish this? what about......... ahhhhhh let me out of this.. the walls must have seemed like they were closing in, what day is it? I am Just so dang proud of you, and the old farts! ❤️. I am also proud of the final, That is what you call a release of pent up emotions, also a positive p - trait. I missed the rest of your family, it's much more organized? No, it's just bigger in every way at the D.T.RACE shop. Mom, pops, brother, sis and dogs. Thanks for sharing all this❕️♥️ 👍🙂 Will pops, Dennis get some free time to finish his little old ramp truck? 😬 oops, pick up truck? C.O E.❔️ ✌🏻💜🌤🇨🇦🤘😎💙🧡💜.
Thanks for the video, can I tell you something you're Dad gets tiered but then see you and the job get Done, You have such a brain and BEAUTY 🔥🔥👑🐺🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷

just saw your debut on hot rod garage, sad to see tony a go but awesome to see you take the reigns, look forward to seeing more hrg, are you n your dad still doing drag week this year?
Nice .. its an amazing build .. did you mention towards the end of the video that Lucky will install tourque converter? I’m sure you ment to say he is coming to install the clutch but we got the meaning thanks for the video
Why not setting the motor direktly above the rear axle ? Greets from germany,,,, will become beautifull, after all the experience from the other one! But whats really impressiv your progress you made in such a garage.... your dad unbeliveable....and the further family in the background also contributory !
How did you come up with the placement of the engine (height and distance from rear end) .... Same question for seat placement? I know its for weight transfer but is there a formula that can be used?
Often the plate is placed behind the waterpump. And a second plate can be placed between the transmission and the engine block. In order to make it work the pully on crank needs to be moved so it al lines up same with the alternator. If a midplate is used the converter needs to be schimied so it all lines up.
Awesome Job Alex, I live over in Mountain Home, Arkansas. So I am always routing for you Alex because we live in the same State. Which county in Arkansas are you all located?

Your parts runner truck looks a lot like one you rode in for parts running on RMRW. I approve of your choice. So much better than the rental.
Alex when your dad was messing with his friend with the electric cord made me laugh so hard my face hurt from laughing

Torque converter???? I thought this was a clutch car? Tremec 6 Speed Magnum
It always amazes me how beefy the OEM frame is and how lean the tube frame is. Same result, different technology.
I know what a motor plate is for, but what modifications need to be made to engine or transmission, or both to use one?
