It shows how far their sons went from their parents. Both are paragons of justice and heroes, and while Goku and Vegeta certainly are too, they have their saiyan pride holding them back. Their sons too a degree too, but they were both openly more heroic and kind than them. I doubt many people would refute that Future Trunks and normal Gohan are total sweethearts and heroes to the end.

Because of the background,it's just like trunks is raging because gohan is beaten by street punks.
(You know that bright windows it's just like Hotel or Office's windows)
When a Z fighter can no longer be revived and sent off to the afterlife on their last journey.
They get a hard-core rock out send off, even Bruce Faulconer can't compete with such a memorable powerful melody.
The little whispers at the start and end of the song are just a nice touch because at that moment when trunks saw Gohan's corpse he was probably thinking he let Gohan die and it is his fault, because he wasn't strong enough and that self doubt is what i interpret the whispers to be

Yes coz in the present timeline, they can revive them back, but at the future they cant since there are no dragonball left,
And because of it Trunks feels desperate, because Trunks cant bring Gohan back, not like Goku who could bring Krillin back
