- I thought Id try to extend a track from Dragonball Z since Ive been watching it alot recently. Alot more difficult to extend as opposed to the other stuff Ive done like the Tetris Plus Soundtrack since you cant really loop it in certain spots, but I think it turned out pretty well. Drop your thoughts into the comments section whether its about the track itself or just Dragonball Z stuff in general or whatever. Enjoy the video!!!
The fact that this is the actual timeline makes me even sadder honestly.
And unfortunately now, the actual timeline no longer exists which is even more fucked. Now future Gohan can't even meet his actual father anymore because he got erased alongside Goku. Honestly the future trunks arc in super was so fucked, but at the same time pretty accurate because it gave us the idea that the protagonist/hero won't always have the victory and save everyone at the end.
@@newkiller4457 Well the actual timeline still exists, just the second timeline is gone. The actual timeline, Majin Buu has probably destroyed the universe.
@@ftsvectors2164 that's actually true, I had to rewatch the whole android saga, and yes the first timeline is still there, it's just that in that timeline trunks was already dead bc I just remembered that the cell that also traveled back in time killed the trunks that gave Goku the antidote for his heart virus, so you're 100% correct. Technically the second timeline doesn't exist anymore.

@@newkiller4457 the original timeline is truly the worst, you have to assume Bulma is still alive probably, but literally everyone else (bar ChiChi and Ox King probably) is dead, even Trunks.
I legitimately cried when I saw this scene.

Keep in mind that this guy had the balls to fight the androids in a 2v1 with one arm, and still kept up with them
This is actually the only really "sad" moment in Dragonball Z, yeah Goku´s and Vegeta´s sacrifices too but they just cant compare. They didn´t actually die and both got revived, future Gohan didn´t have that privilege. Also, the scene is far more brutal with Gohan lying in the ground with white eyes.
Well this and 16's death were pretty sad to me, but I agree. This was definitely one of the most brutal and sad scenes out there if not the most.

I just don´t feelt it. Him being a machine, the scene missing that sad music and the fact that you don´t build that similar bond to android 16 who is only on the series for so little time. Also the fact that Android 16´s death didn´t leave the world nor anyone else so alone as Future Gohan´s death.

There's none now either. That was literally only with the U6 Saiyans who are said to be more advanced than their U7 counterparts, and that was only Cabba's limited way of trying to explain to the others how to turn Super Saiyan, because Vegeta taught him literally the same way they themselves had to learn it, through rage and pain and a need to protect their loved ones.
To be fair, there HAD to be another way to turn super saiyan. Cuz by the Buu saga, everyone was turning super at the snap of a finger. Now way ANYONE can just get enraged in an instant and then instantly cool off after.
There was no tingly in the back thing but I'm pretty sure we all turned Super Saiyan that night when we started crying over this scene

This was the true Gohan. The one Gohan that had both the brains and the brawn. The Gohan that made the androids get serious. The Gohan that survived what the others could not. The Gohan that fought until his last breath. The Gohan that died alone, but not in vain. The Gohan that we want. The Gohan we respect.

But those damned androids won't quit, all they do is take and kill, and you despise that. You place your hope in Trunks, hoping he will one day finish what you started.
You sit with Trunks on the cliff side, gazing over the ruins of what was once a grand citadel of human achievement. You savor the moment of comfort, but that soon ends as a massive explosion erupts in the city.
You roar, "Damn it! They didn't even stand a chance!" Knowing full well more innocent lives had just been taken.
Trunks begins to plead with you, asking to come along to help you...
But you know you can't fight the androids forever...you know the end has come.
You lie to him, telling him he can come.
He turns his back to you and you strike him, knocking him unconscious.
Your anger wells in you and explodes as you turn into a super saiyan. You fly towards the danger, knowing you won't leave alive. You find them and begin to fight them.
You clash with them, but you know it won't last...
You fly upwards, hoping to draw them into the sky for more mobility, then a flash erupts in your face, your suddenly thrown downwards from a hit from above.
You look up...
You see them, and receive a cold welcome from their soulless blue eyes fixed to their emotionless faces.
Before you can move they extend their arms and fire a massive volley of ki blasts.
You begin to feel burning stabs all over your body as your blinded by the intense light, you begin to see images...
First of Goku smiling and waving goodbye...
Then your friends...
The life you could've had...
You then begin to cry to the heavens for help as your overtaken by the ki onslaught, but no aid comes...
One last thought slips through your mind as the world is glossed in thick haze..."Goodbye Trunks, please avenge me...I'm sorry."
The world fades...
And all goes black and silent.

Not only that, but in this timeline Trunks would eventually defeat the androids, only to then be killed by Cell. If there was no time machine ever made, canonically Cell would have just destroyed the world with no androids to absorb, meaning the Earth was meant to fade.
I know it sounds cringy to you guys, but listen here. I was growing up watching Dragon Ball Z. Those sad moments prepared me for the worst period of my life. All moments of DBZ made who I'm today. Without Dragon Ball I would never do sports, gosh I would never start drawing. I lost my dad, I lost my friend, lost grandmother, lost my dog. I saw death in real life in front of my eyes when I was a kid. Without Dragon Ball I would be dead right now probably. For you it sounds stupid, childish and etc, but believe me Dragon Ball for me is better psychologist than the real one. I found my happiness thanks to Goku. I know it's just anime, but it can change so much.

Future Gohan, Trunks, and Bulma are better than their present time counter parts in my opinion. Bulma is more caring, not bitchy, and more motherly. Gohan is a mentor, a great friend, more respectable, and more badass. Trunks is cooler, more badass, and much more interesting. Disaster made them better characters.

This was one of the saddest deaths in the DBZ series for me, Future Gohan was so awesome and he was my favorite character in the DBZ series. He was Future Trunks’s bestest friend and his mentor, it was sad to see him go... That was Trunks’s one and only friend he had in the future. This scene literally made me go into tears... it made me feel very bad for Trunks... those damn androids had to kill Future Gohan... this was the saddest death I ever saw in the DBZ series by far in my opinion. Saw it. Gohan does die briefly by sudden cardiac arrest caused by a commotio cordis induced by a punch to the chest from Frieza. But Piccollo immediately revives him, using an energy ball as a defribilator.
God the backwards music at the beginning gets me every time. Perfect representation of Trunks' world being turned upside down with the death of Gohan.

He flashes back to every memory of his with Yamcha in it,
And back at the battlefield,
Krillin does, too,
Tien and Chiaotzu do the same,
It cuts back to Yamcha, who moves his hand just a little,
Krillin runs over,
And Yamcha tells him this:
"Tell the others... I'm sorry... I failed."
He dies in Krillin's arms,
And the song ends.

This. This is what pain sounds like in a song. The artist isn't just making his guitar cry. He's making it lament. This is one of DragonBall's most painful tracks, and I love it.

Second saddest scene in all of Dragonball or DBZ to me (the saddest being Krillin's first death in Dragonball). Trunks not only lost his best friend and mentor, but also the closest thing to a father figure he had, since he never got to even know Vegeta.

Personally, I don't count any deaths in GT since the entire series is non-canon, and thus technically never happened. Therefore the only deaths I count are ones that occur during Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Battle of Gods, and the DBZ movies like History of Trunks (since History of Trunks is pretty much canon as well since it simply shows how everyone, including Gohan, died at the hands of Lapis/17 and Lazuli/18).
gamester512 I think what you said is the reason why I think Future Gohan's death is the absolute saddest scene in all of Dragon Ball as a whole (DBZ is just the name of the anime adaptation, everything in the manga is simply known as Dragon Ball). Gohan was the last remaining Z-Warrior alive, the only father figure, mentor, and friend Trunks as ever had, and was the last person trying to keep Earth safe. When Gohan died, not only did Trunks lose a loved one, but Earth lost a guardian. The feeling of helplessness and sorrow that Trunks goes through is what makes him go beyond his limits and reach the Super Saiyan form, which to me is a symbol of being your own hero and rising up when all seems lost. With the golden aura, it's like being the light in the darkness.

True, but to me, Krillin's first death is the saddest because of just how suddenly it happens, and how Goku's unusual behavior beforehand (seeming to feel that something is very, very wrong since the usually big eater, Goku, doesn't even *touch* his food) serves to eerily foreshadow that something *very* bad is about to happen. And then to be shown Krillin's corpse and to see his lifeless eyes, and the still very young Goku desperately pleading with Krillin to come back, before he finally realizes that his best friend is really dead....and then to see everyone else's reaction to Krillin's death (to me, Blonde!Launch's reaction alone really shows just how devastating Krillin's death is to the entire group, considering how often Blonde!Launch would try to shoot other characters for comedic purposes and how 'out of place' she tended to seem with the group. Her reaction proves that despite her behavior, even the violent side of Launch cared deeply about the rest of the group). Krillin's death is the turning point for Dragon Ball, where thinks suddenly get much darker and far more serious with the realization that even the main heroes could actually end up dead (and then we witness Chiaotzu & Roshi's deaths as they try in vain to stop King Piccolo).
Granted, maybe I feel like that because I actually know how it feels to suddenly and unexpectedly learn that a friend had died (and IIRC I wasn't that much older than Goku was when *my* friend died), but Krillin's first death really just resonated with me.

As a huge Gohan fan wanting to see him grow and transcend Goku this was incredibly sad for me to watch as a kid. I hoped the Gohan in the other time line would be even better and more badass as he got older.... But we all know what happened. I have never enjoyed dragon ball much after cell. Only made it past a few episodes of super and never watched gt.

The Super Saiyan transformation by now was supposed to be a liberating thing. Goku turning into one was triggered by tragedy yes, but his newfound power sealed Frieza's fate, saving their lives. Here when Trunks becomes one, nothing has changed, nothing is different, nothing is liberating about it. It is just like a child lashing out in horror with no way to resist or fight back. Not only is the world's last hope dead, but Trunks even with his new powers, isn't even strong enough to defeat the terror that terrorizes them. Unlike Goku, he's shit out of luck. So unlike Gokus anger helping to defeat their enemy, Trunks' anger is only fruitless in the face of his enemy. It's so hopeless Trunks' past.
Music still hits hard. People that tell me they hate the dub score I always point to this as one of the scenes that are just so good I can’t understand why they hate dub

Saddest death in anime history to me. Trunks loved Gohan so much. So for him to wake up after being knocked out. Flying to where Gohan's lifeless body laid in a puddle of water. With his eyes rolled into the back of his head damn man that shit hit me in the feelings. Trunks were so hurt that he let out his rage and transformed into a Super Saiyan. I loved this movie period.

Everyone recklessly went in and got killed, leaving Future Gohan to take on the androids alone with Trunks. Someone who could barely pull of Super Saiyan.
