I like that you address how the foot rest on the Tripp Trapp and others would work if your baby is on the lower side of the growth chart - This is the only video that answered my question about this - Thank you!!!!
I would be so grateful if you would post a video about how you use the ikea chair for travel! (How to assemble and disassemble, how to adjust the add-on footrest, how compactly it can travel, etc.)
thank you so much for your honesty. This video was super helpful for me in making a decision to get the Tripp Trapp. They definitely need to make you a brand ambassador.
This is very helpful! I’ve been researching high chairs and found it so hard to find reviews on high chairs of all budgets. I initially wanted the trip trapp but it’s so expensive 😓
I think the point would be to compare stokee with keekaroo and cybex lemo as those seem to be the most similar. This is where I have a problem to pick and price wise is not too big of a difference. Thank you
Yes I would really like a comparison of the Cybex Lemo and Stokke Tripp Trapp. The Lemo is easier to adjust and it looks easier to clean. I’m wondering if it is ergonomic enough though if you are using it all the way from baby to teenager.
I wish I had seen this before we got an Abiie Beyond for my now-almost-two-year-old. I haaaaate it. When he was little we used the tray, and it was so hard to remove. We had to put books under his feet, which he'd kick off, and a cushion behind him, and it was never great. Now that he's almost two, it's better, but he still leans back in the seat. The seat is deep, and the back leans him back at an angle. In order to sit straight up, he's completely away from the back support.
Tripp trapp is good, but when they ger just a bit bigger they get stuck so easy. I feel like I might pull of his legs.. Love the step from a year up. We also used the infant seat on top untill he could sit himself.
This is the review I’ve been waiting for - the one that places emphasis on proper body positioning! Thank you so much for this thorough review. I am now sure I’m going to get the Tripp Trapp. Are you still thinking that the cushion and tray are not worth it/necessary? Thanks!
When the baby sets are in the back rests do not adjust. When the Tripp trapp is set up, the angle of it puts the backrest in the correct position for babies without needing to adjust.
Thank you for the thorough and honest review. Have you tried the Cybex Lemo and Maxi Cosi Nesta high chairs and how would you compare them to the Trip Trap? Thank you in advance
Are you concerned that the back seat doesn’t go back for the baby to rest their head like some of the other high chairs? Thank you for the amazing review.
I 100% regret buying the Stokke Steps because it doesn't transition well from baby to toddlerhood. The front part of the baby set (the harness) is not removable. It makes it hard for my two year old to climb out of independently. Without the baby set the seat is too low. It's not adjustable like the Trip Trap. So now the chair is just awkward for her. I wish we had gone with the Trip Trap instead.
I have the Stokke Steps for one of my kids. There is a screw that holds the front rail of the baby set in place. If you take that out you can use the baby set back part without the front rail. So that helps with toddlers. I also found that having a very thick cushion helps with toddlers as an alternative. I really wish the seat was adjustable though. I agree that the seat without the baby set or a thick cushion is too low for toddlers.
@@jennilynreynolds8837 thanks! I found it. Can you tell me what kind of screwdriver/tool I need to unscrew it? I just tried every screwdriver and Allen key in the house. It's not a common srew so I think it wasn't meant to be removable.
@@jennilynreynolds8837 I didn't get an answer but I purchased the Lemo anyway, I love it but it has one downside for me, the tray is textured and nothing sticks to it... other than that I'm very happy with it and so in my little man.
Would the ikea High chair last us through or would we need to buy something after? As much as I’d like the stokke we have twins can for sure can’t afford two 😭 what would be your next recommendations following? And if they grow out of the ikea high chair what would we buy after?
@@nastassijakolenc2025 I ended up finding the stokke on offer up! One was 100 and the other was 150. I do like them! However as of right now (they are three) we sold our dinning table and waiting to find one we like. We have been using their small play/craft table with chair for their meals and that honestly has worked great. So I would totally recommend getting the cheap IKEA chair and possibly a small table with chairs later which can be used for multiple things if you can’t afford the stokke!
Thank u for an honest review , I have been looking for 90° back and leg support chair. What do you think of kinderkraft enock chair? Is it better than trip trapp in your opinion?
I am looking to switch my 16 month old to either the tripp trappe or the Abiie. Abiie seems like you get everything for a lower price - tray and seat belts. any thoughts you have would be appreciated.
I haven’t tried it specifically, but the things I’ve talked about with the chairs here would be the same things I would evaluate with that chair. Specifically if it would fit a 6 month old!
Yes and especially if it ends up not working for you in the end. I did see a few people who regretted buying it so now I’m still on the hunt for a decently priced high chair. 🤦🏻♀️
I would like to see your reviews a little less bias to the one you have. We know you love it that's great. However it would be good to have an alternative cheaper option given as a suggestion for those who cannot afford essentially the most expensive one on the market. Just a thought. Parents want to do their best and as a "professional" you should be prepared to leave the bias and always have a 2nd option.
I’ve been using the ikea one since my son was 6 months old, but now at 15 months his thighs are too chunky for the leg holes. It’s definitely easy to clean, but he’s constantly dropping food in his lap because the tray doesn’t come close enough to his chest.

finally a comparison video that explains the differences clearly...thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful! You’re very welcome.
This is THE MOST helpful review I have found. THANK YOU!
So glad it was helpful! 🙏

Would you recommend or not on adding the cushion for the Tripp Trapp in terms of ergonomics? Also, do you think the harness is a must?
That’s what i’m curious about too
Hi can u suggest high chairs that are counter height?
thank you so much for your honesty. This video was super helpful for me in making a decision to get the Tripp Trapp. They definitely need to make you a brand ambassador.
Thank you for watching, I’m glad you found it helpful!

I know, but you can use it 20 years.
Just get a preloved one 👌🏻🤗😊
With the Abiie, it looks like the foot rest could go up another level.

Same question here. Where I'm also considering the Maxi Cosi Nesta in our high chair options.

Thanks for your reviews! I was stuck between the Tripp Trapp and Steps and your feedback definitely helped me decide.
That’s great to hear! I’m glad it helped.
Stokke Steps looks pretty Morden & useful.
Thank you for sharing! Do you have thoughts on the Bugaboo Giraffe Highchair? Is it as good as the Tripp Trapp for the 90 degrees?

Thanks for the comment! Yes, I don’t think that they are necessary.
Have you tried the Keekaroo Height Right? Not with the squishy insert, but the plainer one!
What is a good booster seat option for baby positioning if we didnt go with the stokke as the high chair
Didn’t see in your video if the back rest adjusts closer or further in both of Stokke chairs reviewed? I think Steps has 2 positions?

@@newwaysnutrition Yes, it was! These are the best reviews!😃
How many inches is that baby? Is the only issue with the other type of tripp trap you showed the length of the foot rest?
Can the tripp trapp be used with 36 inch counter height tables starting at 6 month old?
What about the 4moms? What's your opinion on that?

What do you think about the Cybex Lemo Highchair, it has similar features as the Tripp Trapp but I'm not sure how ergonomic it is?
I have the same question.

Were you able to get good positioning right from the start?
Thanks for the review!
Have you tried the cybex lemo?
would you invest in pading for the trip trap? I'm thinking that cleaning may be hard
I usually don’t find it worth it!
Hi. If my tod is 1y6m, is the first chair your showed worth buying?
Absolutely! The chair can be used through adulthood, and I have had people buy it for a 3 year old and still think it was well worth it!
What do you think of the OXO Tot Sprout Chair? I am wondering if the adjustable foot rest actually goes high enough.
I go over a lot of other chairs on my blog! Head here for some more details: newwaysnutrition.com/babies/the-best-high-chairs-for-babies/

The footrest doesn’t appear to be adequately adjustable and so it isn’t one that I’d recommend.

I have no plans at this point to review it, but I’ll keep it in mind down the road!
Most of those high chairs are over priced and not everyone can afford them :(
$269 for a high char is rediculous though..
$459.95 even worse

She said her second option is the IKEA Antilop with the footrest and cushion modification.
Tripp trapp is hard to clean due to the cushion, ikea easier to wipe down. Crumbs get everywhere. Kids are messy eaters
