Interesting. In my country we are so much stricter. I would never put my baby in the jumper, walker or activity center. And especially would never use a baby seat. Not even a 10 minutes a day. All the physiotherapist in my country I’ve talked to are very strictly against practicing sitting. And I agree with that based on the research. It is interesting to see how it’s different in every country.

The same in Poland. The jumper, walker, etc. were used here in the past and were the cause of many malformations (at least according to the research I've read, and what's interesting - most of the research was done in USA :-) ). Sitting, as well as crawling or walking, should result from the natural developmental process, not placing the child in "helpers" that never simulate real conditions.
My favorite phrase when it comes to parenting: be supportive, but most of all don't disturb! :-)

So true. And what about the baby carriers? Ergobaby and Babybjorn is so popular in America as far as I know. But it is overly expensive garbage that hurt babies. Elastic or woven wrap is much better for the first months. Baby carriers are also really good but it is necessary to follow basic rules (M position, C curved back, fabric from one knee to another, soft back and no firm neck collar).

The only things I used for my daughter was educational toys from Monti Kids, which is a montessori program from age 0 to 2 years old. The Montessori Method addresses your child’s cognitive, physical, linguistic, social, and emotional development.
I did not use walkers, seating trainings or any other products. She started to wear shoes only when she was walking fully on her own. For her physical body, I let everything happened naturally.

For the nails, get an electric nail file! They have different heads for the age of baby, and don’t hurt at all. I got one for my baby, and have been using it since birth. My babe is 3 weeks now, and I use it twice a day since her nails grow so quickly. It is fast and easy to use, and I’ve not had any big issues with her scratching herself, and never put her in mittens.

About the upseat... the best is no seat before they are ready..in my country (Czech Republic) these seats like bumbo or upseat are not common and discouraged the same way as walkers or jumpers.. the best way is to wait until the baby learns to sit on his own and not to sit him up before he and his spine is ready...

I agree with everything mentioned but the waking piece. Each child is different. And this can be said about my 2nd son. He was a very fussy child until he took his first steps at 7 months and was choosing to walk at 8 months. He finally had control of his environment and was content. There was no stopping that child, he particularly skipped the crawling stage.

If I may, I will dare to disagree with point 2. The physiotherapists back at home actually recommend not to sit your baby until they learn it on their own completely. They spine isn’t ready, they sit all curled down, can’t breathe properly and their hips suffer too. My family is 100% against walkers because of their experience with me, not even because of the development issue. I fell down a flight of stairs because I was in my walker and somehow knew how to open then gate to the steps (dad pulled SuperDad and literally flew down the stairs somehow past me and caught me before I landed). My bfs mom wanted to get our 6m one and I told him and her this and now she’s against it. I got lucky, but some other babies have gotten majorly injured. My dad had a bruise on the back of his shoulder for 6 years later and had to get surgery to remove it. I told this to a friend of mine with hers and she laughed and didn’t believe me till her daughter almost did the exact same thing. Walkers are never okay in my family.

If a baby’s spine is developed enough, they will sit up on their own.

Ok honest question here. My son is 3mo and I just started him facing outward in my Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier. It has straps to adjust to better support the angle of the legs, to better support the hips. My baby does not tolerate being carried facing inward, and does not tolerate being put down at all. He has been loving facing outward in the Ergobaby carrier and until I watched this video, I felt it was a God-send. Ergobaby says to face them out only when they have good head and neck control, which my baby does, and I trusted that this company cared about the ergonomic support for babies and their development. FOrward facing . For those wondering , dont let them dangle facing towards the world on youre chest. Face them towards ure chest. So their neck is rested. And it helps that they hear ure breathing.

That walker thing is instinctive to me. I wasn't raised with it, and one of my mother's coworkers asked if she was worried I'd be late learning to walk. Walkers were new when I was born, so my mother said "Did you use a walker to learn?"
    "Well, no."
"And you seem to be standing here just fine." The lady couldn't respond to that.

What about forward facing with the ergo baby carrier that supports the legs and keeps them in a wide “m” shape? The instructions say you can start forward facing at 3 months, which my baby is (today actually!) so I was going to start so he could see out since he gets frustrated when he’s turned in. But of course I want the best for him!

This is really interesting for me to see. I guess I live in very strictly ergo country. It is generally advised- No front facing carrying ever, no sitting baby up until they can sit on their own (usually from crawling), no jumpers, no walker or other baby trapping devices, bouncers/loungers just for few minutes a day when absolutely neccesary, barefoot when possible and now the big trend of barefoot shoes.

I even take off my babys pants when we're at home and it's not too cold. They learn how to crawl and pull themselves up much easier and quicker this way. They need the traction so they don't slip and fall.

Love your videos!! My baby is 4.5 months old and absolutely loves sitting when we pull her up and support her hands or independently in the tripod sit. We have to help her to get in these positions though. Is this okay? I heard from some people we should only let her do it when she can roll into a seated position herself (no assistance from us), so we started to worry!

One day some older ladies I work with were talking about how strange and inappropriate it was that people were taking their babies out bare footed. Someone else I worked with told them about how shoes aren’t actually good for baby feet and don’t allow them to grow properly. The older ladies then both talked about how their feet were deformed and they never let anyone see their feet 😂

  • @Chloe5264

Great info. I definitely used a walker but like you said it was minimal useage. Mainly if I needed to have him out of my arms or just to give a few minutes of independent play time. I didn’t use it to help him learn to walk. But we still have it though because now that he’s fully walking on his own, he still loves to play with the toys on it so we still feel we got our money’s worth. 😁
