my hair tips: - get a hair cut when you start seeing split ends - try massaging castor oil/coconut oil onto roots and ends every 2-3 days for oily hair, nightly for dry hair, depends on how your hair feels to you - no heat - no hair dye - only wash when feels oily/dirty, depends on hair type and personal preference - try dry shampoo in between washes - silk pillowcase - use Nexxus/ogx shampoo & conditioner for your specific hair type (try other brands, I just use these two because they are highly rated and cheap) - use shampoo brush - only use enough shampoo to cover scalp and let the rest rinse down into the rest of the hair (2 dime size amounts for all hair lengths/types) - use old t shirt/microfiber towel to dry hair after shower (gentler than regular towels) - brush from ends to roots, not roots to ends (unnecessary stress on roots) - gentle hair ties & hairbrush (scrunchies & Wet brush) - gentle hair styles that don’t pull on scalp - stay hydrated & eat healthy (omega3s, fatty acids, etc.)- fish oil pill daily if not enough moisture and nutrients in everyday foods- avocados, etc. - take biotin supplement daily - try clipping method- clipping up sections of hair along part to create volume while wet
from someone who just cut of all her hip length hair due to a depressive episode and getting a huge matt (put yo hair in a bun or braid and ask a loved one to detangle when you can't get out of bed due to your illness) try zoloft or wellbutrin as well
I went through this and was also battling addiction at the time, been sober going on 5 years now, but at that time I ended up in the hospital and begged the nurses to shave my head, they wouldn’t lol but I was so sick and I t hurt too much to brush it out. I ended up going into a coma for a few days and when I woke up they had detangled my hair for me, bless them. I then had it cut to my shoulders until I recovered. Been growing it since! My heart goes out to anyone who’s had their hair do this because I so get it and your comment is it. Ask for help, don’t hide ❤️
My mom applies oil on my hair....its really convenient when someone else does it for you as they are able to see your head better specially the back of your head.
Love the braid at night tip. I have shorter/medium length hair so I do two side braids. Once my hair is long enough I will do one braid. If I don't do my braids at night I severely regret it in the morning as I am a frizzy mess so I am sure this helps protect my hair a ton. And I swear my hair grows faster when I braid consistently at night. Love all your tips!!! Thank you!
Question: the braiding helps protect the hair at night yes, but when I take it out in the morning it’s super curly from the braid? How do you get it to straighten out again
@@sophienicole333 you could try doing a looser braid, this will protect it but the curls won't be so strong when you take it out and brush through it. Other than that just have to embrace the pretty wave you get from it or try doing a bun
I’ve been following the chocolate mask and the banana mask and I find that they both make my hair soo soft and shiny so thank you for that 😁. I’ve also been using a wooden brush which has really helped with my frizzy hair. On a previous comment I made I said my hair was at my waist now its below my butt😅 Ive found that the shampoo and conditioner that work for me are: -OGX green tea fitness shampoo And -Love, Beauty and Planet Conditioner in the rose scent This was just kind of an update but thanks so much for the advice it really helps😄💜💜
Great hair growth and maintenance tips! Your videos are always so educational and inspiring. Would love to see a video on what you include in your diet for healthy hair. I feel like diet is probably one of the most important factors in hair growth and health 😊
Anna, as always great tips for keeping healthy, long hair. Silicone and sulfate free has made a huge difference for my scalp and hair. The sulfate dried out my scalp and hair. And the silicone in curl sculpt made my hair greasy, weighed and flat. I can go every three days without a wash easily. When my hair gets longer, I will buy Argan oil for the lower half. Yes, protective braid at night, with a satin pillowcase really provides healthy hair and a stress free sleep. Also wood brush, and hair towel by aquis from Amazon has helped protect hair. I am finally learning from all you young gals!! I love it!! Also eating many more fresh vegetables, with quiona, high in fiber and protein. Everything is working together for a better life and better scalp and hair. Also, thanks for the tip on shipping split ends. That will be a huge help later on. Lastly, your hair looks beautiful as your are making the commitment. Way to go!! Keep it up and beauty treatment can be fun, in our free time!!! Thank you so much!! Prayers and Blessings.
You are so incredibly helpful! Thank you for many of these tips and product suggestions. I've kind of just lazily been growing my hair out but now that it's really long, I realise if I want to keep it I have to start taking more care :)
Deanna Rose same regular pony tail holders I can’t wrap around once for a ponytail. I have too much hair lol I did get hair sticks and it actually holds my hair and isn’t painful and it stays
Leaving this comment to vouch calia! It's definitely worth the money and lasts a long time. My hair was falling out by the chunks (I'm in my 20s for reference) until January when I switched to washing my hair once a week and using calia. I haven't had hair fall out since then.
Too bad I didn’t work for me :( my scalp got little bumps and my hair felt weird :( did you have any type of reaction in the beginning of using the shampoo??
Another tip to softener your hair is to wash it with distilled / demineralized water if you have hard water like mine... I diluite my shampoo with distilled water.. it help me a lot because before my hair was very dry and the distilled water has no minerals in it.. also Apple cider vinegar helps to shine your hair.. a little bit diluited with distilled water it helps a lot.. I used a diy spray with demineralized water and a little bit of Apple cider vinegar in the Last wash of my hair and I spray it... Sorry if I made mistakes but I m italian😅
You are an amazing person and love how you get into details and explain things in detail for us and I love the fact that you always find time to help us out 😊. As a guy with curly hair it was getting tough for me to figure a routine out and you helped me out pretty well on insta ❤️ thank you 😊 looking forward for your bf's haircare routine 😁
Those are some really great tips! I also like to wash my hair 2-3 times a week too! I'm also trying to grow my hair our really long. Like to mid thigh length too. Yours is always soooo pretty!!! Especially, with those waves from your braids. Yeah, your hair length right now is definitely a little pass hip length. I would say its tailbone length.
My tips: Stop using hairbrushes, only use combs. Apply coconut oil or olive oil to the ends of your hair every night. Comb your hair 4-5 times a day. When you apply the conditioner, don't try to rinse it all out. Some of it should be left in the hair and work as a leave in. Use a t shirt as a towel. NEVER put your hair in a ponytail. Always do braids.
- add plenty vitamin B and C in the morning, and as needed throughout the day - take a vitamin supplement too. I need age 50+. I like the CVS brand. It is a gift with my Aetna health insurance plan. Good. -
Great advice as always! But what is the difference between all the calia shampoos for dry hair? One is moisturizing, one hydrating and the other for dry hair? What's the difference and how do I find out which one works for me?
Louksna F the Purifying for dry hair is my favourite because it really cleanses my scalp but it doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry or stripped. The Purifying for normal-oily hair is a little more Purifying than the other one. The hydrating shampoo, or any hydrating products, really help to bring moisture into the hair strands. This is great if you only wash your hair once a week or if your hair really needs intense hydration. Moisturizing products, or the moisturizing shampoo/conditioner help to moisturize the hair cuticle and keep it flat, so it looks shinier, smoother, and less frizzy. It’s really good if you wash your hair more often!
Hi , I just am a new subbi , and am with you on this growing my hair , which I started seriously after incorporating Rice water , my Question to you is when do you use rice water . My hair ends became very rough after using them . It did help in the growth though. And let me tell you you and your hair are a beauty to watch 🤗thanks for sharing your tips!
Most evidence based haircare resources say that silicones are likely not an issue and don't cause damage. They may help hair retain moisture. You should look into Lab Muffin Beauty Science. She's a beauty chemist with a PhD. She has a video on this.
Wow so beautiful! Your hair is gorgeous ❤️🐵🐵 also your shirt is great 👹 thank your for helping me set up a routine to keep my hairs healthy and pretty. I love you so so much! Thanks for everything you do ❤️❤️ also your skin looks amazing
N Sims ofc! Genetics are a huge part in growing your hair out. But even if your genes bless you with perfect hair that grows super fast, it’s still important to take care of it as it’s growing out. You can still experience breakage and hair loss if you’re not taking care of it. My hair grows super slowly and it breaks really easily so I have to give it a little extra tlc 😅😅
Your tips are simply AWESOME! I tried your banana and chocolate masks and ...WOW. They work like miracles. Thanks a lot for all your tips and tricks!😜 I just contacted your cousin marianna to find out more about the capillary schedule. My hair has grown 4 inches in 3 months! I can't believe it. It was at waist length and now it's almost touching my butt 😃(I know my comment is long and sort of an update but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you and your tips😀)
Argan Rain shampoo cleans my colored and straightened hair very well. I also use argan oil with the conditioner and sometimes the leave-in conditioner. I also use the mask if I'm in need of hair repair from my beautician.
If you are near a higher end salon I would highly recommend that as they take their brand very seriously ( for example the one near me is a Redken salon) and also do consultations for usually nothing or toward cost of the cut etc You pay more yes but you will get a quality cut and more importantly go in with peace of mind because you took the time to do a consult to ensure the stylist you book with and you are on same page ❤️
Thanks Anna loved it. I wanted to how do I do scalp treatments on days I'm working out? I have been using coconut oil on my hair since my childhood but these days, as I work out almost everyday, I find my scalp gets oily and greasy sooner and so I don't understand how to incorporate oil treatments on my hair now. Love your content, thanks ❤️
Ramyaa H try doing the oil treatment the day you wash or the day before. I like to put a treatment on my scalp and leave it while I work out, because the heat your body generates when you’re exercising is actually really good for helping the mask seep in! Then I’ll wash it out when I get home or leave it until the next morning, depending on how sweaty and gross it is haha
You have the most beautiful hair ever. Might be weird to mention but waist long hair is sexy even, it goes beyond pretty. I'm trying to get mine just above waist level as a guy.
I've been doing everything I possibly can to keep my hair hydrated, but I still struggle with split ends. Besides all your tips is there anything else I could be missing? Something in my diet maybe? I do take a multivitamin and eat fairly healthy..
Ellie King eating healthy foods and taking vitamins is super important for growing out your hair. Once the ends start to split though, it’s important to trim them as needed. You don’t have to cut them all at once, but every few months take off a little until they’re gone. When preventing them, maybe try using a protein treatment every now and then to strengthen the hair, since you’re already doing a good job of hydrating it. The rice water rinse is super easy to do and it’s really effective!
I came here cuz now that my hair is longer, knots have became a serious issue. You brought to my attention that it could be due to the leave in conditioner I’ve just started using recently. my hair is always in a bun and it feels like im only keeping it long for when i take the time to style it.. and i dont have much time so at this point it feels like i should just chop it. Hope everyone is enjoying their long hair though.
@@sarahkhalifa to be fair, if you have short hair then you have to "do something" to it almost everyday. You only have the option of a bun because it's long enough.
your hair is super awesome and beautiful thanks for the tips I am growing mine out the only thing is I got too use high end stuff and wash it every day don't no how you girls get away wit washing it twice a week.
My first time that I'm commenting I use the earthsap shampoo and conditioner and I do use a wooden brush. I've bought the shampoo and conditioner last week at a beauty shop because my hair got way to oily from the other shampoo and the guy said that I must try the earthsap. I do use the egg and olive oil. My hair isn't long in trying to grow it longer the way it use to be. PS I love watching u and I'm from south Africa 🇿🇦 cape town. I have peppermint oil but I've never used it. Pls give me advice as to how to be patient with ur hair grow. Love Melanie
Melanie Viljoen thank you so much! Try to have fun with the process of growing it out! Have fun experimenting w masks, trying different heatless hair styles, etc. It makes it a lot more fun and your hair will be at your goal before you know it !
@@OrganicallyAnna I live next door to a salon and they would actually tell me I must trim my hair and I'm trying my best not to even bump into the owner 😥😥😥😥😥
I'm 39 and have about 10% grey hair. I want it long but need to dye my hair. Any recommendations for long dyed hair, so it won't be too dry or damaged?
Dye it while using low volumes of peroxide (not more than 20, 10 is best), as the higher the volume the greater the damage. Go to an hair dresser that uses olaplex and ask for the olaplex add on in the dye, it's great to not ruin your hair. Or, instead of this you could try colouring hair masks that colour your hair a bit but also do not damage it as the dye does. However, the color will probably not attach very well, colouring masks are supposed to only refresh the dye.
If someone has protein sensitive hair would you still recommend the leave in conditioner? I’ve been searching for one but my hair and coconut oil do not mix well at all lol
Dana Badala There are leave in conditioners without coconut or protein. Shea Moisture has them. One is their low porosity leave in and the other is the Manuka honey. As I am has one. I forgot the name. Many many more.
Can you make a video about how you determine what your hair needs? When do you decide to add moisture or oil or protein or do a scalp treatment? How do you know how often to do these things? Thanks for your vids ! :)
I’ve never used calia shampoo and conditioner and my hair is very frizzy, dry and wavy. Would this work good on this hair type?? I’ve used a argan oil shampoo and conditioner but not sure if I need to switch? Please let me know!
I cut my hair a year ago, it was past my hips and I cut it about three inches under my shoulders and it hasn't grown in a year besides an inch, I used to love my hair because of how long it was and now I feel so insecure because of how short it is knowing that my hair used to grow very quick. I don't know what to do anymore, I don't use heat on my hair, I've only gotten a perm once in August of 2021 and I wash my hair daily with only shampoo and conditioner (I've been washing my hair daily since I was little)
I like to growing my hair. Now my hair is short but I not a cut this hair now I like a long hair and I wash my hair 3 or 4 times from a week. I know everyday shammpo using our hair its not good for our hair.so I dont using shampoo every day.
my hair tips:

- no heat
- no hair dye
- only wash when feels oily/dirty, depends on hair type and personal preference
- try dry shampoo in between washes
- silk pillowcase
- use Nexxus/ogx shampoo & conditioner for your specific hair type (try other brands, I just use these two because they are highly rated and cheap)
- use shampoo brush
- only use enough shampoo to cover scalp and let the rest rinse down into the rest of the hair (2 dime size amounts for all hair lengths/types)
- use old t shirt/microfiber towel to dry hair after shower (gentler than regular towels)
- brush from ends to roots, not roots to ends (unnecessary stress on roots)
- gentle hair ties & hairbrush (scrunchies & Wet brush)
- gentle hair styles that don’t pull on scalp
- stay hydrated & eat healthy (omega3s, fatty acids, etc.)- fish oil pill daily if not enough moisture and nutrients in everyday foods- avocados, etc.
- take biotin supplement daily
- try clipping method- clipping up sections of hair along part to create volume while wet
Wow actually these tips are useful.Thank u
I wear a tubi before I go to sleep. It's a great protective hairstyle, It also straightens your hair without using heat.
Taking biotin daily wont have any harm?

Updated routine please
Just use olaplex... it does work
I came here cuz now that my hair is longer, knots have became a serious issue.
I’m curious. Did you cut it? Yeah, I always have it in a bun and I forget about it during the week
No, the longer it gets the more attached i feel 😞
I just styled it a couple days a go and got compliments left and right, Thats also addictive.
@@sarahkhalifa to be fair, if you have short hair then you have to "do something" to it almost everyday. You only have the option of a bun because it's long enough.
@@personmcdudeguy it doesn’t have to be short but it could be shorter. Right now it’s unnecessarily long xD
Yes I sleep on a silk pillow thank you for your advice

What brand of scissors do you use for cutting your split ends?
Michelle Stewart that’s a really good question, I don’t even remember 😭 I got them at Sally’s beauty supply if that helps!
One of the best videos 😍

Do use a different shampoo to clarify your hair from buildup once a month? Also besides oils, do you put any other products in your hair?
How often do you oil your ends and do hair masks? You have helped me so much. I am still struggling with split and dry ends.
Thank you so much! I usually do them once a week, but I use a daily oil on my ends to keep them hydrated
@@OrganicallyAnna Thanks for replying! What do you like to use as a daily oil?
Hi Anna after using vatika hair mask I cannot manage my hairloss, what can u advice
Do always wash your hair? Like monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and sunday
Note:
Sulfate free shampoo
Silicon free conditioner
Okay.... 🤔🤔
I love your channel 😘

How do you feel about the HASK hair products?
I cut my hair a year ago, it was past my hips and I cut it about three inches under my shoulders and it hasn't grown in a year besides an inch, I used to love my hair because of how long it was and now I feel so insecure because of how short it is knowing that my hair used to grow very quick. I don't know what to do anymore, I don't use heat on my hair, I've only gotten a perm once in August of 2021 and I wash my hair daily with only shampoo and conditioner (I've been washing my hair daily since I was little)
Try bone broth Dr Axe ... Hair will grow like crazy good..
I like to growing my hair. Now my hair is short but I not a cut this hair now I like a long hair and I wash my hair 3 or 4 times from a week. I know everyday shammpo using our hair its not good for our hair.so I dont using shampoo every day.
Hi , do you any heat product for your hair ? Like hair curler , straightener
I'm prone to having a greasy scalp and hair, so I'm nervous to go more than a couple days without washing it, or using any oils or masks.
