Unpopular opinion: I don't think cold water does anything for anyone. It doesn't "close" the cuticle. Shampoo because of its higher pH opens the cuticle and conditioner because of its lower pH actually closes the cuticle

I noticed everytime i used cold water to rinse out any conditioner, my hair was always greasy, always. I have to wash my hair in luke warm water

I mean science says it should 🤷🏽‍♀️. What you're saying is that it's better to just use the right products. Either way, the heat would open the cuticle back up, so right products or not, I think a last cold rinse is still a good idea for people with damaged hair. You could also use a pH balanced leave in instead.

For me it definitely makes a big difference, especially since I can see the difference when I use very hot water my hair feels drier and when I use cold water it feels 100 times better

As someone who bleaches their hair your non frizzing tips are a lifesaver! I know you don't have dyed or bleached hair, but a video on caring for damaged or frizzy hair specifically would be so cool❤

Hi Anna! I can't remember all the tips you mentioned, but for example, I've never rinsed my hair with cold water. I'm a cold phobic person I can't go anywhere near anything that's like below about 30 degrees haha. But I think if you have low porosity hair and you want to use post shower products like leave-in conditioners or serum, rinsing your hair with cold water would be the worst thing you could do. If you have low porosity hair like me your hair is already so hermetically closed it won't accept any products, and if in addition you close your scales with cold water, products are just going to literally slide right off your hair and nothing will get absorbed by your hair. So all you are doing is just pouring all those products down the drain. If you have low porosity hair you need to keep your hair warm so the scales stay open so it can absorb post shower products like leave-ins.

More wisdom from Anna. It's good to observe objectively what works and what doesn't. Every hair enthusiast needs to develop their own best protocols because everyone has differences in their genes and environment.

Heat styling & bleach are the devil. I’ve gone back to dark hair (my natural colour) and massively limited how much heat I’m using, barely ever. My hair is SO much better.

Sameee, I'm growing my hair and the only 'rule' I follow is to be very gentle with my hair. Other than that I was it every other day and then after washing I just put leave-in conditioner in and some oil

Me too, since I cut my hair the last year, I decided to stress much less about hair care and stuff like that. I think the most important thing is keeping it sustainable and compatible with our style of life. We can't stress that much over our hair: hair care should be something relaxing, not a hell. One of the reasons that led me to cut it the some years ago and the last year was actually this one. And now that I'm on my way of growing it again, It's much simpler and enjoyable. I still use oils and masks and choose my products with attention, but I don't stress myself to do them every single time, and if I want to blow dry it cause I like the final effect on my hair, I just do it. Thank you for being real and open about this topic, I always feel that we're pretty on the same wavelenght. Sorry for my English ❤

Thank you Anna for this video. When I first got into haircare I felt overwhelmed by feeling pressured to get all of these products and routines for my hair. But now I realize that what works for you is okay. You don't have to have every possible haircare product out there. Thank you for sharing as always ❤ have a great weekend 😊

Hi Anna! I also agree that you should wash your hair when it needs it. I have such a serious, incurable dandruff problem that no matter what I do or what I use I can't go more than 3 days without washing my scalp, because if I go any longer I get more dandruff than hair. I've used everything, Head and Shoulders, tea tree oil, tar shampoos, sulphur soap, henna, but nothing gets rid of the dandruff. So I HAVE TO wash my hair minimum every 3 days if I don't want to look like the guy in the Head and Shoulders ad haha.

In my case personally I find that taking hair growth vitamins has made all the difference in the world. It stopped hair fall and thinning hair and made my hair grow back. But I think I'm one of those people who don't eat enough. Because I have about a pea sized stomach and I eat about half a plate of food and I'm full. Then I have no time to eat anymore because I'm running around all the time so I can't stop every half hour to eat another half plate of food. For example if I order takeout one box of, say, fried noodles lasts me for 4 meals so 2 days, eating nothing else but a quarter box of fried noodles at every meal (lunch and supper) for 2 days. And that is all I eat in a day so I don't think I'm getting enough nutrients from the food that I eat. But I imagine if you eat a normal diet, unlike me, maybe you wouldn't need vitamins lol.

Same here for frequent washing. I could go for 8 days but now when my hair grew to 22 inches and its platinum appears that my oils dont reach my ends so fast so i need to condition it like every second day and oil it every day😂😂and I use soo many natural products and oils I will go bankrupt. Maybe its the summer sad dry hair 😅😂

I’ve tried not to comb my hair when it’s wet, but I didn’t like it ‘cause my hair is naturally wavy and if I don’t comb I have troubles detangling them later

What is the name of the silver hoops you showed? :)
Also, I used to wash my hair every other day when I was younger and my hair did well. Always long and healthy. Over the years, I listened to a lot of influencers who swore by washing less and my scalp is itchy and oily and my hair looks dull

I swim in the ocean almost everyday, it’s likely due to that lol, I don’t do heatless curls every night all the time, and I usually sleep with a bonnet on when I do those specifically to eliminate friction! It’s also summer and I live in a rainy climate so I think frizz is just inevitable, but it definitely doesn’t feel dry :)

I don’t necessarily think that’s true, it really depends on your hair and scalp type. Either way it’s just better to wash your hair when it’s needed
