- A complete spinal cord injury leads to irreversible paralysis. Scientists at .NeuroRestore, in Switzerland, report in Science that they have developed a gene therapy that was proven in mice to stimulate nerve regrowth across such injuries and guide nerves to reconnect to their natural targets below the injuries in order to restore motor function.

When this will be available for spinal cord complete injury patients for making us walk again in all over the world
Fascinating...hope this effort gets priority funding...
I need this for my MS.
So looking forward to this being more widely available. My son is a perfect candidate for this advancement.
When do you start with the clinical trials please let us know we want to start to be with that clinical trial
How many years were lost without stem cell research in the U.S.? Think of how far we’d have come.
I have been following this progress for 11 years. I guess we will figure it out within 100-200 years.
I’m not expecting this to happen in my lifetime but if it did man wouldn’t we be lucky
Human trial are being done now in America
@@007russmanwhat was the result
@@shahidganie8898 trials still happening now
Please let me know when clinical trials are available
Already started
Q. Is there a time limit on treatment post injury ? In other words, will it be possible for someone who was a SCI injury patient 5 years ago or will it only work on a person who is recently injured? My injury is incomplete quad so any improvement would be great, but for someone who is complete and wheelchair bound this treatment would be bloody incredible !
I need this for my autoimmune disease called ADEM that happened 3 years ago and paralyzed my legs ughh. I have incomplete paralysis
Where can I sign up to do research? I have a complete spinal cord injury from the neck below
Meetoo
pl send me a link
amazing!!! i love this so much!
My daughter has incomplete SCI at Thoracic level and is 7 years old. Please let me know when this experiment progresses into more practical into humans.
I am a spinalcord complete injury patient. Will I ever be able to walk in my life?😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Yes
No , if you haven't walked in more than 2 years, you will not walk again
@marioaguilar7887
Stop lieing to the gut, he's not ever going to walk again
@@renewableenergysolutions90 of course he is going to walk! Do some research! It is only a matter of 5 years maximum 10. In china they are about to start treating the general public! They are about to finish stage two human trials!!
@@renewableenergysolutions90 no he will just beleive god and scientist
My husband has an incomplete spinal cord injury with some fusion. Would this therapy help him? Currently he is quadriplegic.
guys, this is at least 10 years away for patients.
so, keep your heath as long as possible
Doctor wise from china is way more advanced. He is less than 5 years away from introducing it for public treatment. If ur not in a wheelchair and u don’t know what ur saying it’s better if you don’t say anything. Telling someone in a wheelchair they have to wait more than 10 years can be the difference between life and death.
NVG-291 human trial results will be published in 2024 and it's already gotten fast-tracked by the FDA, so it won't take nearly that long.
They are about to do trial nexts year
It would be much faster if Biden gave spinal cord research a fraction of the money he left in Afghanistan or the money sent to Iran, Ukraine and Israel. What is the together? $80B + 40 + 100 + 20?? And spinal cord research gets $100 million a year. It’s not like they don’t have it.
It’s not 10 hrs away, human trials are currently being done now
When will human trials begin? I am interested. I have a T9 complete injury.
Look up Doctor wise. He is already doing human trials
@@marioaguilar7887have you actually seen anything from him? All I have seen is talks and animations. From what he says it seems very promising, but if he has really helped as many people as he claims, you would think there would be some videos of it. I’m not saying it’s not true, I’ve just been looking and can’t find much on it.
@@matthewsmith1079it’s hard to find anything because all the trials were done in china. I did find the name of the clinic from china that he was working with and they have treated 260 people already in china
What are the "growth factors"?
special proteins that accelerate growth
@@hiongunthank you for your clarification. Does this work on a primate?
I also have complete Spinal cord injury is it going to be applicable to human?
Yes
So is this only for those who have had an injury or could be tried on young adults born with spinal deficiencies?
Don't mind but this kind of ad I have seen lot many more times nothing will happen
lol look up Doctor wise. R u even on a wheelchair?
