Human Spinal Cord Implants For Treating Paralysis

- For the first time in the world, researchers from Sagol Center for Regenerative Biotechnology at Tel Aviv University have engineered 3D human spinal cord tissues and implanted them in lab model with long-term chronic paralysis. The results were highly encouraging: an approximately 80% success rate in restoring walking abilities. Now the researchers are preparing for the next stage of the study: clinical trials in human patients. They hope that within a few years the engineered tissues will be implanted in paralyzed individuals enabling them to stand up and walk again.
The groundbreaking study was led Prof. Tal Dvir's research team at the Sagol Center for Regenerative Biotechnology, the Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research, the George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tel Aviv University. The team at Prof. Dvir's lab includes PhD student Lior Wertheim, Dr. Reuven Edri, and Dr. Yona Goldshmit. Other contributors included Prof. Irit Gat-Viks from the Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research, Prof. Yaniv Assaf from the Sagol School of Neuroscience, and Dr. Angela Ruban from the Steyer School of Health Professions, all at Tel Aviv University. The results of the study were published in the prestigious scientific journal Advanced Science.
We want human trials as soon as possible please release some promising successful treatment or medicine available for spinal cord complete injury as soon as possible by no lie

I'm a spinal cord patient (C3, C4 & C5), I have made two surgeries on my spinal cord, one in Germany at Excell Clinic and the other in China at Buhua hospital and I want to know all that's new treatments to help me recover 100%
Always have realistic hope mate. Big advances are coming. Keep hope, but also enjoy as much as you can. I suffer for 16 years have 20 different issues but realistic hope is real for me good luck.

Please god I hope this comes out soon. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease 2 years ago that paralyzed my legs.
I was diagnosed with transverse myelitis and multiple sclerosis in 2009. I can't tell you how many times news like this had me hopeful. look man I'm not trying to be a buzzkill continue to move on with your life otherwise you may be waiting for treatment that may never come. I would give so mad at other paraplegics that had the attitude I have now but the truth is they were right.
@@there_is_nothing_here yeah man it really sucks that our body's attacked itself. I get so depressed sometime feeling like my life was taken from me. I was diagnosed with ADEM btw in 2019. (Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis). My body attacked my brain and spinal cord. Had to get chemotherapy because I got it very severe. Steroids didn't work on me
