I bought my mk1 1300XL four door just under two years ago to be my first car and absolutely love it. The only issue with them is if you want to buy one you have to do it quick because mine has nearly doubled in value for what it’s insured to in just under two years, but an amazing car
It’s 1970 on a ‘J’ plate, not a 68. 4 door cars were not introduced until 69/70 model year. Pretty sure GT’s were only available as 2 door in UK spec. This particular car whilst very original has had some brutal looking ‘repair’ work to the front inner wing strut top mounts.
Hello buddy, yes they did do a 4 door GT same as the 1300e which was also had the 1300 gt engine but slightly tuned down. Have no idea why they did a 4 door GT tho lol
Can anyone tell me if that's the original exhaust, and if not, what it is? that sounds great! I'm actually in the process of restoring one of these and it has a way too loud and actually not very good sounding exhaust on it which I will change and was planning on going with an original one but am afraid I'll end up not linking it. Mine is a four door, and although I would have preferred a 2 door when I bought it, now I think I actually prefer the 4 doors. Plus, it being a 4 door has stopped my attempts of selling it since no one wants them!

Nice period spec. My uncle had a 4 door gt in red. Set of mexico steels and then it'd be lovely
A mk1 1300GT bar the pressed steel wheels an original good example
That Escort looks too good to modify
