I think I am leaning more towards the BB58 black when comparing these two. But, the BB58 blue dial is also a great looking watch! Either way, it will be interesting to see if Tudor ups their game on the BB58 this year at Watches and Wonders and starts offering the t-fit clasp on the 58. We shall soon find out!
Of course, black. It put a clear mark in watch production when Tudor released it. It was the first to re-design sizes and to promote interest towards re-issues. I will never sell it. Very interesting video!!!
@@TayyarePilotuOfficial Thank you for your kind words, I truely appreciate it. I will try my best to get my hands on the bb54, however, I have to purchase the watches for my videos as I don't have any partnerships or easy access to timepieces, which can be hard at times.
While I like the blue bezel inert, I’ve always thought Tudor dropped the ball on that muted blue dial. Rolex often revamps their blue and green tones used on their divers. Tudor should revamp the blue BB58 with an improved blue tone dial and t-fit. I’d be all over it.
I’m generally drawn to blue dials. See iwc mark xx, or the latest tag heure carerra chronograph. However that blue face could be the star of a show called watch faces I don’t care about. Nothing about it stands out. So boring. That black+brown accents+ plus red is really sharp though.
The black is somewhat of a gilty pleasure, and the one I always leaned towards. Your video has shown me that the blue is quite possibly the better looking watch. But the black still looks so damn good. Aaaggghhh!!
I compared the blue 58 and even the new 54. There is something very special with the OG BB58 black. I purchased the black 58 and it’s become one of my most worn.
Good review but you missed the fact that they have different colour steels, the blue watch looks a bit like white gold. I bought the blue, it’s a terrific summer watch especially at the pool or beach.
I wonder about something like the bronze as a daily, I definitely understand the idea that the blue is more subtle but could you describe the bronze ...as subtle?
@@Think890 Interesting question. I've owned a bronze black bay in the past, and I wouldn't say it's subtle. While it shares much if the same qualities, the tone of the case and bracelet just lends itself to be more eye catching in my opinion.
When it comes to watches, I find black dials boring and always prefer blue dials. The exception to this is my Lunar Pilot because the black is the authentic dial. Otherwise, I don't buy black-dialed watches. For example, I don't even like the black submariner.
The 58 is so well made and perfectly proportioned for a sports watch. It borrows from classic Tudors and Rolex without being a slave to an exact copy . It really is it’s own thing. The gilt bezel gives the 58 a warm feel, the red triangle offers a pop of color paying homage to the Rolex Big Crown, the chunky coin edge crown is so satisfying to wind with a refined matching coin edge bezel and I love the snow flake seconds hand. It’s different from the more traditional lollipop style. By the way, 39 mm is on the smaller side for a modern sized sports watch. I think anything smaller is playing vintage territory.
Blue all the way. Too many black dial divers.

Blue is a little dull. Black has a ton on character but is too obvious now with how popular it’s been. For that reason neither for me unfortunately.
Can’t go wrong with either but I like the more modern look of blue. Which is why I bought it 😅

This comparison video is probably best example on RUclips so far. You should compare BB54 vs BB58 (black) in same format too

Black for me, love the gilt and touch of red
Wish a black 58 with silver tone.
That would be interesting to see, perhaps will look more like a sub
Went with black as I already have a blue watch. Love them both, but I like the classic look of the black with the gilt
Great comparison! I like the black one over the navy

Black for life ⚫️
black look cool, classic, 🎉 but blue look sporty, young , motivate everyday, fresh color
Thank you for the comparison

Can't go wrong with either, but it can be tough deciding between the two.

This was a very easy choice for me, I went blue with no regrets.
I wonder if Tudor will touch the black bay 58 this year
Well Tudor just released a few days ago the BB58 GMT on coke bezel with gilt
10000% blue🎉

Blue for me, I'm not a big fan of gilded hands.
Blue changes beautifully in different light conditions.
I own the blue. I’m not really in love with the gilt.
There should be date options.
Black, not even close

Owned the blue, sold, very boring watch
Buy a doxa sub 200, much nicer and way cheaper
I'm interested in picking one up after seeing their recent release.
Love my blue not really into the black bezel black dial
Both nice, the blue needs a red triangle and black could have done without the gilt. Owned both sold both.
I’d go with the blue but the black one is a good looking watch…
Got m both
ever thought of exchanging the bezels (blue on black dial, black onto the blue dial) ?
