I lusted after watches so much until I narrowed it down and finally pulled the trigger on the BB 58. Purchased it for my 40th and I absolutely love it. If you don't want the stigma or the financial hit of buying a Rolex, Tudor is a no brainer.
Outstanding choice. What a classy way to make such an auspicious moment. May it serve you well and bring you much enjoyment.Thank you for sharing that.
Onwards and upwards,
Best regards,
TGV
@@theurbangentry Thank you my friend and same to you. 🍻
Everyone seems to be over rolex except maybe an explorer.can totally understand
Yes exactly the same I turned 40 last week and bought the BB58. So happy I did. Love the work TGV
The 58 is nice but I’ll stick with my 16600 Rolex. Call me when Tudor release a Pelagos or a GMT with the dimensions of the Black Bay 58 (I did love my GMT on the leather strap but always felt so big and I’m not a fan of big watches).
The production quality of these videos is absolutely out of this world
Thank you so much, that means a great deal to me to hear that.
Best regards,
TGV
Yep. It’s looks like first class education program...Wait a minute...it is exactly the first class education program
Really you think so?
i love how tgv intros are so detailed and story telling yet he doesnt take himself too seriously in his videos. keep up the great work
Agreed, always so well done

He meant Gee Gee, London slang for Horse 🤪
In his attempt to sound like something or someone he absolutely is not, he remains the king of mispronunciation...
My favourite brand. Own a couple of Rolex but there's something about the Tudor brand that draws me in. Perhaps it's the snowflake hands, the chunkiness of its case, or the no crown guards. Whatever it is i keep coming back to them, so much so that they've now become my most trusted brand.
Great choice like the Pelagos, I believe that Tudor is the Rolex for the watch enthusiasts.
Nooo, I'm just saying that Tudor is a more "essential" Rolex.Tudor is for someone who wants just the watch and not the status or the asset value that a Rolex holds.
@@theamericano3966 99% of rolex owners aren't enthusiasts. And that comes from an enthusiast that owns a rolex.
And yes he's right, it wasn't a choice by rolex to make the sub 41mm for the enthusiasts, but for people who want to show off a rolex watch, that's all.
I AGREE 100%!
This is 100% truth😂 i know two rolex owners who don't know anything about automatic watches... I asked about the power reserve, +/- per day among other things and got nothing in response😂😂 Definitely not watch enthusiasts, just bought for the status.
Pelagos - No Date - now thats a yummy thought
GOD! You and your absolute EPIC intros Urban Gentry!!! Love them!
Thank you so much :D

@@theurbangentry would you put a Paracord strap on this new Tudor Black Bay?
I’ve had my BB ‘58 (Black) for 3 months and I’m still in love. It’s absolutely stunning to look at. It always made my heart beat faster when I saw it online, but it’s even better in person. A Rolex Sub would be waaaaaay ……“too much” for my lifestyle. The BB 58 is the perfect understated alternative
TGV, I do so enjoy all the history in your videos. This adds so much to my enjoyment and enriches every aspect of my love of watches and their fascinating role in our cultural and industrial heritage. Your passion shines through everything you do and is a joy to share. Thank you.
TGV. I’ve watched you since 2019 and you are the BEST out there in Utube watch land. After buying many watches, sub $2,000, I bought the Black Bay 58 on you’re “suggestion”.
Tudor should give you a Sponsorship !
TGV - you're constantly working on your game man! your videos are becoming better and better. Thank you for the tremendous amount of time which you sink into production for us. These pieces are broadcast quality
Absolutely love that bit of history in the beginning. The heritage and story really gives some weight behind the whats on your wrist. I sometimes like to look for your reviews of watches I already own so I can appreciate them more.
I absolutely love mine. Even the details that some reviewers mark as negatives, are instead for me, distinguishing details that I love. I love the lack of crown guards, love the coined edge. Love the snowflake hands. The rose crown. I love the applied round markers, Triangle Twelve and symmetrical dashes at 3, 6 and 9. I like how these shapes work with the tudor hands. I really do t mind the classic stepped bracelet, the faux rivets I could take or leave either way. My wife bought me mine and I love the understated nature of it compared to the rolex. The blue is mesmerising and I love how it shifts in the light with the angle from purplish to greyish blue. Only thing i wish was a ceramic bezel insert and quick micro adjust on the othwise wonderful clasp.
I own a 14060m and my BB Blue arrives in 2 days and I’m very excited to see it in the flesh, tbh I’m a bit over the Rolex pretentiousness
I own a BB 58 in the black dial and absolutely adore it. I remember my AD calling me on a Saturday morning to tell me the BB 58 had arrived and would I like to come take a look at it? He was surprised by how quickly I made it to the store. I pulled the trigger that day. I still can't believe I own a watch as beautiful and reliable as this.
Every once in a while I find myself thinking about getting a Rolex, maybe an Explorer, but then I remember that I have a watch that ticks most of the same boxes as the Explorer for half the price. I agree with you, TGV, that Tudor is what Rolex used to be.
"I had no idea they had even released a blue BB58". I'm considering not watching the rest of the video. But the quality is so top notch, I think I will stay.
Good detailed review, excellent videography, and no childish dinosaurs etc! Exactly the type of reviews I enjoy! Well done keep up this style of reviews excellent!
Beautiful video, always is enjoyment watching your reviews 😊😊
The intro OMG I love your videos and all the hard work you put into all of this thank you
Next level production values TGV, bravo!
Just smashing the reviews my man!! Great job 👏
I love the fantastic intros! More quality content TGV 👍
I love this guy, he's equally passionate about top notch luxury as well as quality inexpensive watches. Good job!
By far the best watch reviewer on RUclips. Pure class. Thank you Sir.
Thank you John, you are a real gent for saying so.
Best regards,
TGV
Great review and I appreciated the time you took to go through the history and details in good detail without being too detailed if that makes sense. I just bought the BB58 blue looking forward to receiving it.
Good level of details pleasantly distributed between history, reflections and facts👌🏻
Brilliant video, so thorough. Thank you!
Bravissimo, what a good video TGV. Its 4:20 A.M where I am at and I just couldn't go to sleep with this notification popped up. I didnt notice how fast fast the time went by while watching. Loved it.
Grazie mille Sam. May your dream be full of Tudor and such wonderful watches
Thank you for the comment. Dorme bene!
Best regards,
TGV
Great video, you cover many aspects of owning such a watch. Thank you.
Well done, TGV. It's always nice to know our history of Tudor dive watches, in order to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the details in this watch.
Thank you my friend, always appreciated, I know I say that a lot, but it truly is.
Best regards,
TGV
Judging from the intros I would love to see you do a full feature cinematic film! Such vision...the Oscar goes to TGV..
Hey TGV, another awesome video! Keep it up..... support from Singapore.
Fantastic content and exquisite quality of delivery. Well done TGV. I have registered my interest for this piece. Fingers crossed I am not waiting too long absolutely stunning
Great overview-Pelagos all the way for me because of the square indices, crown guard and titanium.
Your points- spot on TGV.
I'm in complete agreement with your positives and negatives on this one TGV. Also, my heart dropped when I saw Hugo lurking next to you at 19:46!
I greatly enjoyed this Tudor and Tudor sub / black bay deep dive!! I feel well informed and it was very entertaining 🙏
Another great video TGV 👏🏻
Watching TGV for 3+ yrs now...finally pulled the trigger on my first luxury piece (Black Bay 58 blue). Used every piece of advice the good gentry has shared with us over the past 3 years to make this decision. Love everything about this watch. Thanks TGV! Can’t tell you how excited I was to watch this video, have an even deeper appreciation of this watch now. Checked all the boxes you helped inspire.
My Tudor Black Bay 58 is arguably my favorite watch. It’s proportions, legibility and vintage feel makes it so easy to wear day to day. The Blue version is on my radar for sure.
Great tie in with the music using the Blue Danube. Amazing watch and best review of this watch I’ve seen.
T, You are the true King of the intros. This is, as always, a great video. Informative and interesting. Keep up the superb work my man. Best as always Matthew
Thank you number 1, your comment always makes me happy. As wired as this sounds, you will be especially please in the "negatives" section ;-)
Best regards,
TGV
Awesome as always! And, I liked the nod to the R+C rose as well ;)
Your graphics are excellent. The intro is as good as a TV show.
Just bought my BB58 black a couple months ago and absolutely love it. My opinion is it will still be adored in 50 years from now and will probably always be worth just a little bit less than I paid for it.
really nice review and you seem to have captured the color of the watch very well.
Excellent review! I love how you added the history of the Royal Tudor family too!
Great to get a real honest thorough review 💪🏼
Thank you Brian :D
I hope you are well,
Best regards,
TGV
Loved that transition from Queen Elizabeth’s face into the Rose. The lines matched beautifully.
A bit late to the party but purchased this yesterday my first "luxury watch" love it, choosing was a long process but I think it was always going to be this or the bb36 but found the 36 just slightly too small. Love the videos TGV a great source of inspiration!
TGV, thanks for the Tudor history lesson. It looks like you worked hard to get this video researched. I learned some new things about Tudor. I wish the Tudor subs were affordable. I like 36 to 38 inch sized watches or I can go to 42 with the Gshock squares in plastic as they are so lightweight. I am not a big fan of snowflake hands. I don't know why. I like the vintage models better.
Hi TGV, informative video as always, I must say I much prefer your vintage Sub out of the two, just bursting with style, i can see why you love it so much 😎
TGV, well done once again. I enjoyed the new military theme intro👍 I agree the snowflake hands with rectangular hour markers would have been “the bee’s knees”🍺
Thank you very much for that video, may I say that your intros are unbelievable pieces of art, very well and tasteful made.
A real pleasure to watch.
More and more Tudor gets hold of me, I adore there modern interpretation of „old“ style watches, I love the snowflake and the connection to
England doesn’t hurt either. It’s like Rolex being a Mercedes Benz, reliable and (sometimes) a bit boring, Tudor is a roaring Triumph motorcycle that
screams out for adventure.......
One day soon I‘ll be owning one myself......
Best regards
John
Another cracking video TGV! Keep it up!
Thank you Andrew :D
Best regards,
TGV
Mines getting delivered tomorrow and I can’t wait. Nice video mate.
Great honest review, I too have the same issue with sizing my bracelet on the BB58 black
I bought my BB58 blue about 3 months ago so I had to revisit this video. Outstanding production, TGV!
6-month update: I loved the quality of the bracelet, but couldn’t get a good fit with it. 3 micro adjust holes is not adequate. I even got the half-link from Uncle Seiko. In addition, the scissor arms in the clasp are long, and there’s limited articulation on the link that meets the clasp on the 6-o’clock side. The result is the effective length of the clasp is 50+mm on the underside of my wrist! I’ve got it on a Forstner “O” bracelet now; this solved all the issues & the fit is so much better!
Very informative video
Amazing work....
Thank you TGV for another excellent quality review. In particular well done for picking up on the very real negative being the inadequate micro-adjustability. As a black BB58 owner, I too cannot get the bracelet fit ‘just so’, they have been told, but no solution yet introduced. Superb piece nonetheless...
I'm new to your channel and you are absolutely killing me! Evetytime I watch one of your shows I end up buying a watch 😫😂 Love the channel and keep up the good work! 👍
I purchased mine a few weeks ago, and I must say that I love it. Other than a little inconsistent case brushing, I think it’s spot on.
Also, you're absolutely right about the ETA movements; watches are the only hobby I can think of off hand where people idiotically think having something that's more expensive and more of a pain-in-the-ass to service is some kind of status symbol. Any more, I thought I had gotten rid of my watches where I have to do that except for my Seiko Marinemaster, but, discovered that my Ball needs to be sent back to the company. However, I refuse to get rid of that particular one.
Cars as well.
I've had my BB58 on my wrist for 16 days now and it's gained literally only 5 seconds!! My Omega Seamaster 300m with METAS gains on average 3-4 seconds a day. I can't understand why ppl go on about the negativity regarding the rivets on the side of the bracelet there that small you hardly notice them and when you look directly at the face to see the time you can't see them at all! Great video. Very interesting. Keep up the good work pal and stay safe!!
Beautiful and inspiring watch. It’s easy to fall in love with the BB In my opinion despite the mishmash of dial and hour hands. But more so due to your great production video!
I also agree when you say it’s more honest then a Rolex. It says something about the good taste of it’s wearer.
Thanks for another great video!
the intro was amazing well done sir well done
What a fantastic intro, gave me chills!
Black Bay 79230N was my first mechanical watch...and it's fantastic. This video is very well done, TGV - thanks mate !
Yes I bought one too 10 days ago while on holiday in Vancouver. Fabulous feel and so accurate
Great video, as always !
Currently rockin my 41mm Black Bay. It's an absolute gem.
You're doing a great job , love vid !!!!!
Great talk through. Nice to see content swinging back to these types and genre... ive heard enough about Seiko for a while
Thank you Christian, as always we have some new brands never featured before one the way I think you will really enjoy. Onwards and upwards! :D
Best regards,
TGV
Thanks TGV! Great art.
Very nice watch. My favourite Tudor was the Hydronaut. For me the positives are the female end links because that makes it taper on the wrist like Seiko. The new logo looks like smiley emoji.
The negatives are lack of crown guard and the large L2L wish they made that smaller so it taper like a Seiko.
Nice review. Fantastic editing. Looking forward to the next video. Keep up the good work.
I recently bought a vanguard strap for the the tudor blackbay navy. The fit is perfect and the colour matches so well to the bezel and dial
TGV you taught me a lot about watches keep up the good work you should be a talk show host!
Another fine review TGV. Your positives and negatives are spot on, especially about the round markers with snowflake hands. Makes me appreciate my blue 75190.
Thank you so much my friend! :D
Best regards,
TGV
Grazie mille TGV. I feel so much more informed about this great brand now. Well done! Regarding Tudor for Bond? Hell yes!!
I have this with the blue soft touch leather band, that solves all the problems of the bracelet and really brings out the blue in the dial/bezel. I love it, it's spoiled all my other watches now and they hardly get any wrist time.
Hi TGV
The popularity of this Black Bay 58 series shows that the trend with oversized watches are over I think...
Really like this blue version - blue always suits a diver😊
Great video mate, keep up the good work👍
This blue is gorgeous and the "vintage" dimensions make it perfect. I've been thinking about this for some time now and I think I'm definitely getting my hands on one.
UPDATE: I now own one since 2 weeks. Still as great as expected.
great great video.
Chapeau bas, a real enjoyement.
I picked up a 58 Blue a few weeks ago. A totally impulse purchase. I love it. I had a blue Tudor Pelagos and a LHD too. I have my Pelagos on Crafterblue rubber straps, one is blue/red and the one for the LHD is Black/red. They really suit the Pelagos. I have large wrists and I think the Black Bay 58 blue still looks.great on my wrist. I also have a Black Bay Chrono, which I had on a Colareb 'Roma Mud' strap, but I just had it put back on the bracelet. I really like Tudor's recent releases.
For me, owning a black “original” BB58, your video was great to watch. Especially the history of Tudor. Big thumbs up for your research and editing work. The Fifty-eight is my first luxury watch; and am still as in love with it as when I first witnessed it in my local AD. We have equal wrist size you and I, so the 39mm is utterly perfect for me. The snowflake hands did require some getting used to, but I completely adore them by now, and are one of my favorite things in the watch. Coin edge bezel, and crown, although not historically Tudoresque, have great feel and useability. The only downside for me is in the bracelet (rivetless please) and clasp (would love to have the glidelock system of the modern submariner) but other than that the watch is perfect to me after a year of ownership. Would recommend the BB58 to anyone in a heartbeat, especially at it’s pricepoint
Once again another great video
I just bought this BB 58 2 weeks ago. Be frank, this watch is not the first priority for me to pick it up from my collection everyday, but, indeed, this watch is beautiful and, as you said, not so common as Rolex submariner. I didn't feel regret to buy this Tudor and I am sure I will love it more and more as times go by.
Very well done video. Good review. Thanks
Thank you so much Tony :D
Best regards,
TGV
Hope all is well TVG & excellent review on a very nice timepiece!
Thank you Smitty :D

Another great video TGV !!!
Thank you John :D
Best regards,
TGV
Great video as always, on your next one can you please add a video with the bezel action on this watch? It's a key factor for me in purchasing one...thanks!
that intro - pure perfection 👌🏼
Got my BB58 Navy mid Sept at a Tudor Party at my AD. 😀🍺👍⌚❤
Chili Prepper did you dress as a Tudor?
If only we got a TGV review of the BB58 OG! This one is just as thorough, but the original can’t be beat, IMO. My next purchase, for sure. Thanks for the review TGV! Love the history lesson of Tudor as well. Cheers!
Yea, I was hoping you’d do a Urban Gentry deep review of the bbblue. Great vid.
Bloody hell. What a start !
Great review, TGV, thank you. As always, the history lesson/review is always appreciated. The watch looks nice, just me, but I'd rather have the larger size black dial blue bezel. Everyone's different.
Thanks for this, as I learned a bit of watch history I didn't know about before. That's why I think your videos stand out above many other reviews. I think all the criticisms are valid, and they may or may not matter a lot to the buyer, but they are there. I enjoyed the different straps discussion as well. I do see the appeal of the servicing costs on the ETA movement, but that 70 hour power reserve is also extremely appealing. The image of these vs. the Rolex is definitely appealing. Less blingy without the ceramic bezel, and there probably aren't many people just buying a Tudor like they would a "Rollie", for the name/prestige. It's a shame that even the Tudor Subs are priced at new Rolex Sub territory now, because those have a certain appeal, especially in blue.
First of all, the entrance to this video is off the charts, you really should follow your talent into this industry. Secondly the way you explain the history of the brands is such a welcomed part of your videos, i just love your style. Lastly i was really considering this watch, i admit i was caught up in the excitement. Gladly i waited and you make some excellent points. I agree its a great watch, but maybe i'll wait and see what else is coming "down the pike". I find the blue a fine color, and a user friendly shade, but i do prefer the black and guild version. The coin edge is something do really like but if i were to gather a guess, it is a cost measure and not a missed opportunity. The indices are o.k. but you make a good point with being consistent of squares and rectangles, but it's not a deal breaker. The lack of drilled lugs is a misstep. This watch is a true "tool watch" but marketed for the popular sector of purchases. When Lady Gaga is sporting one, it loses quite a few marks from me.
An outstanding review.
I was SO close to getting the new Black Bay but couldn't find it anywhere local and need to try it in the flesh before purchasing. I ended up getting the Pelagos LHD and must say it's an amazing piece, I love seeing the Tudor love! Great video as always!
Congrats Clyde, such a unique piece, enjoy!
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Another great video mate - have to love and respect the Tudor brand !
