I am the fortunate owner of a large high-end watch collection from the likes of Rolex, Omega, AP, PP, ALS, JLC, Cartier, Breitling, etc. If I were forced to sell them all except one, my choice would be to keep my Tudor BB58 blue. It’s just THAT good!
I need to figure out how to increase my income to get a watch collection like that.
Lol BS
Tudor over Patek... Haha sure buddy
@@Pnasty1337 I didn’t say the BB58 was a better watch than Patek. I said it would be the one I’d keep from my collection. I stand by that comment. My Patek Aquanaut 5164 now commands a 6-figure price tag. So wearing it comes with some stress/worry. Plus, it is very costly to service. My BB58 is a trusty companion that is beautiful, accurate, reliable and I never have to worry when wearing it. At this stage of my life that’s what’s important to me now.
@@Pnasty1337Why not , the Tudor is one of the most versatile watch you could buy.
Even if I had all the money in the world I would prefer a a Tudor over a much higher end watch .
Anything over 10 K us for a watch just seems stupid to me .
I really love the conversational style of your videos - it is so relaxing to follow along on your watch collecting journey!
Thank you, I appreciate that.
I've just come home wearing my new Tudor Black Bay 58, sometime you find something that looks like it was made just for you! I can't stop looking at it, thank you for your work, I love your presentation..
Elizabeth you have an absolutely great taste - I have 20 Rolexes , an Ap Chrono and two omega moonwatch but the Tudor black bay 58 blue is the watch I always wear even when sleeping .it’s perfectly proportioned and that understated blue dull colour is easy to live with .
So glad it’s not a hyped over retail price watch because it’s actually the perfect watch for most sports diver connoisseurs .A brilliant watch reminding me of the the 79190 old Tudor submariner .
I like the style of your video, it doesn't revolve around the watch itself, rather what the watch means to its owner's watch collection journey.
Of the pieces I have in my 10+/- collection, I have yet to purchase a diver. I’ve been researching endlessly and I keep coming back to this BB or it’s brother in Black. They’re just too good to ignore. Right in that sweet spot.
That brown leather nato matches so well with the navy blue colour. Killer combo! Congrats on attaining your grail watch and it really looks stunning on you.
Thank you for taking us on your journey
I hadn’t paid attention to Tudor until I saw this specific watch recently (I’m late to the show) and it knocked my socks off. This is a really good looking watch.
Indeed.
At 1:16 you show what a responsible person you are. A Luxury watches are extravagant purchase and should only be done with careful consideration. Congratulations !
as i am a tudor collector. i really appreciated your enthusiam in talking about the 58 with blu dial which i obviously i already have in my collection. enjoy your watch
Congratulations on the acquisition of you grail watch. A brilliant watch with a classic design, a modern movement at a decent price for a COSC chronometer. I have the black dial version as I already have a couple of blue dial divers. I have to agree with your comments on the Oris as well. The Aquis 41.5 that I have is super comfortable, readable and modern for an integrated bracelet piece that I'm not planning to sell in the foreseeable future.
tudor black bay 58 reminds me of the rolex that sean connery wear in goldfinger in 1964 james bond movie i believe it was the same size but not in blue
A great perspective on watch collection and achievable watches too. Great editing too 👍🏼
Congrats! The Tudor Black Bay 58 Navy was my first luxury watch purchase back in Dec 2020. It's such a great piece.
Love it!
A polished production; your footage and commentary are appreciated. BTW, I would hope the Oris is keeping better time than the desk clock.
Fantastic video with great cinematography.
I tried the 58 several times, but so always find little things that annoy me and stop me from buying it.
First is the lack of a date window, I find it useful in my job. Then is the fact that it has too many polished surfaces for a tool watch. Also I think the bezel should be ceramic at this price point and the dials are a bit too plain.
The combination of the blue watch face with the dark brown leather NATO strap is a stunning combination.
Love the production value of your work. Really beautifully done. Great eye. And congrats!
Thank you so much!
Congrats! BB58 is also one of grail watch in my collection. You really get alot of watch for the price. Wear it in good health!
I love my 58 blue and wesr it everyday that i don't have my beater casioak on. Such a timeless and beautifully classic look
I had the exact same thought process when I got my BB58 a few months ago. I chose the black one with bracelet it has warmer colors. It was the last one available at my AD and I was so afraid to try it in person, thinking it was just a dream that finally came true. I had an excellent experience there with the salesman. We talked about watches for hours over a cup of coffee. Plus, I got a little discount on my purchase. The only flaw on this watch this is a scratch magnet. When getting that out of my head, I enjoy wearing this watch so much.
Firstly thank you again for a brilliant video. The Tudor Black Bay Bronze is my grail watch and yeah it'll be my first serious expensive watch, but as you know that itch never goes away and eventually it's gotta happen. You can keep the Rolex's I think Tudor are so fresh and the quality is sublime. I can't wait to join your club and finally own one!! ❤
I love my 58. I've had mine for 2 years and it still gets the most wrist time even over much more expensive pieces.
Congrats on your new purchase ! You pull it off very nicely.
This is and always will be my favorite watch video. This is the video that made me subscribe to this channel.
I recently was given a BB36 silver dial as a retirement gift from my wife. I love it and wear it a lot, but my grail has always been a vintage (50s - 60s) Omega Seamaster Automatic. I finally found a good one at a reasonable price, and it gets the most wrist time. I also have a Seiko SARB017 Alpinist that I wear a lot. The Alpinist is the first watch I've purchased where I immediately bought a new strap because the faux alligator supplied by Seiko may be the worst strap I've ever seen on a watch that cost more than $100.
Oh yeah, worst strap ever.
Congrats to your latest purchase! People were so much more comfortable with smaller watches despite their wrist size and I can tell the smaller watches are now coming back. Tudor knows this as well, hence Pelagos fxd, in which is my grail watch. I guess I will have to another 2 years before this watch become available.
We have a very similar watch journey. My first watch in 2018 was a Hamilton Khaki King silver dial.
And added a 18k 1964 Universal Geneve Polerouter Date
Then a Black Bay Steel in 2020 (i prefer the date functions however - easier for me when I'm working)
Then I added an 18k "Devil's Horn" Vacheron Constantin factory fluted bezel/ hand engraved.
2021 Tudor 1926
In between those a Seagull 1963, $500 vintage Zenith small seconds, and 5-6 Casio DW5600s and finally the DJ 41 Mother of Pearl diamond dial (2/22/22) that I've wanted ever since I was a little kid in the 90s seeing it on my dad's friend's wrists.
Brilliant video, and nicely narrated. Looking to view more of your work. The BB is on my list to.buy, but they're close to impossible to purchase in my area. The blue is aurpringly nice and I love the traditional look of this timepiece. Well done, and congrats on your purchase.
The Tissot Seastar 1000 in blue is a great watch. Liked it so much I purchased a Seastar 1000 green dial .
Just stumbled upon your channel. Now I am a subscriber.
Awesome! Thank you!
Congrats on your purchase. The BB58 is a heck of a watch and a modern classic imo
It really is!
Swapped my black BB58 on bracelet for a blue on nato strap last week. Love the ‘new’ ( to me ) look. Great video.
I fully agree with your sentiments. Once the size got reduced I felt the hunger like I’ve never felt before! Alas I am yet to purchase it…. Congrats on yours 🎉
Congratulations on your getting your new grail! I love the parts of this video where you share your reflections on the watch collecting journey. 😀
Excellent video and beautiful watch. I’m still where you were…prefer a date complication and a day is bonus. But I’m also coming around to symmetry bias, like you mention!
it's a process.
Congrats on your Tudor! I picked up the panda 🐼 chrono last year as my first Tudor. Wow! Wasn't expecting that! I have big wrists, so the 39's don't work for me...which is good because the Pelagos is now on the list. They're like Pringles...can't have just one. Enjoy!
Will do!
Once you pop, you just can’t stop™️
Just stumbled on this channel, love the videography and your commentary! My brother got himself a BB58 recently and after watching this I'm itching to get one too
I thought by getting a BB58 GMT would help stem my insatiable appetite from getting more and more Seikos but it didn't work 😕
Love your reviews and how you express your opinion vis a vis other watches.
Just found your channel. I LOVE how you discuss the weight of a new large pricey purchase. Great editing too. Glad I found ya.
Awesome! Thank you!
Your candy pink oris is outstanding
Great video! Love this watch, and love it on that leather NATO you have? Where’s that from? This is my favorite dive watch of everything I’ve seen over the past several years, and 2nd favorite watch all time, only second to my Speedy. I think they are the perfect complement to each other. I was in the exact same boat as you, always thought my grail is a DJ and now is an Explorer. And I also always needed a date, but no longer! I have the Speedy, saving for the BB58 Blue, and maybe decades from now and Explorer.
Finally got my blue bay 58. Its a keeper for me.love your channel. Keep up the good work.
Enjoy it
Congrats on the grail! I hope you have years of adventure with it and I hope you take us along for the ride! :)
That's the plan!
The BB58 Blue looks KILLER on that leather strap. Great choice, great watch. I just found your channel and quite enjoy it. Keep up the fun!
Thank you!
Nicely done video! I am a huge fan of the BB58 and the Oris Aquis line.
Found a broken Tudor Ranger at a Pawn Shop for $495. Case was good, a few years old, some minor scratchers that buffed out, Total tear down, wasahed and lubricated, broken main spring replaced, fixed beat error +5 secs a day on the time grapher. Keeps good time. Back in January on line at the grocery store, woman in front of me notices the watch "A Tudor? Couldn't afford a ROLEX?" Actually, I do have 2 Rolex watches, one working after I repaired it and looks like new, but you don't wear a day date out in public, the second needs a new oyster case, crystal, back plate, crown and dial replaced. waiting for money for parts as I buy the part when I can afford to. As for the Ranger, I put it in one of my window cases and it has sat there ever since. I love the hunt for great watches for a song, usually damaged and broken, just needs tender loving care to bring them back to be loved again.
I agree, the aluminum bezel adds warmth to the watch and gives it character, it wouldn't look as good with a ceramic insert.
Still loving my black bb58. I wonder why the sapphire on it looks like plexi, it distorts like a plexi and oozes warmth with the dial. Every time i put it on i like it but after wearing it for a few days there are almost magical moments where the light plays with it and i see it in a completely new way making me enjoy it even more. Gorgeous piece 😁
Nice review. Great camera work showing off the watch.
the Oris looks so nice on your hand with the braclet.
Love theBB58 tho
My wife wears the Glashutte original sea Q panorama date, which is 15 mils thick and 43 mm. It looks fabulous on her 6 inch wrist on the beige canvas supplied strap. So cool Bigger is ok, really!
Congrats, my Tudor BB58 is my favorite watch in my collection and I wear it daily. It has perfect proportions and reminds me of the four digit Sub that Sean Connery wore in the iconic, early 1960's James Bond movies. I love the aluminum bezel, which gives the watch real character and warmth. A tool watch and a piece of fine jewelry, it is the perfect watch for me. Subscribed!
Great breakdown of the BB58. Look forward to more of your content. 👍🏻Subscribed.
1:16 i'm so happy someone finally adresses this. I hate it when people call Tudor "affordable". Okay its not a Rolex price but that still makes it a big deal right? Great vids, keep going!
Congratulations on your new acquisition, I'm having trouble deciding over the gmt Pepsi and the bb58 black and guild dial.
Simply stunning🥳
Congratulations on acquiring the BB58 blue, it's a great addition to any collection. I like my blue dialed 58 so much I am on the waitlist for a BB58 black - can't wait.
Such a great looking watch. It is on my wishlist. Really enjoy your channel.
I got mine not long after it was released and love it. As you say, the shade of blue is stunning. Enjoy it!
just got mine yesterday on steel bracelet. your video really convinced me to pull the trigger. i was on waitlist for several months, so when the AD called yesterday, i got it without blinking an eye.
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine!
I wonder if any day will arrive that a normal tapered down rivetless steel bracelet will be made for this model ?
Love the fact that although being your grail, you still wear with love and not baby it.
I've combed though the comments and everyone seems to be missing something very important - your hair looks awesome! 😂👏👏👏
Oh yeah and congrats on the new watch
Thank you so much!!
Your videos are fantastic ! Looking forward to seeing your channel going forward!
Thank you so much!
The dimensions of the BB58 are great, but beyond that, the 58 (at least on the bracelet) is definitely one of the most comfortable watches I've ever worn. I too would love to add it to my collection, but I'd go with the OG black/gilt model... ;)
Totally understandable.
Nice review Elizabeth. You are absolutely right about Tudor, a lot of people have never heard of them.
The most under estimated Swiss grail watch there is in my opinion.
Enjoy the watch.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful Watch Beautiful Lady
Thankye from Denver North Carolina
Beautiful watch . Good for you .
Now I'm tempted to get one myself. Thanks for sharing.
You should!
I have a new one available….
I have an oris 65, a vintage 1988 Tudor Submariner, as well as a1968 caravelle sea hunter ( devil diver, 666) as well as others.. I don't like the Black Bay because it doesn't have crown guards.. I tend to bang my watches on the door jambs etc. and the crown could get damaged.. but it looks really cool on you! To each his own...
I really love your videos, keep up the great stuff. Also love the 1993 necklace, quality year.
I don’t mind wearing a smaller watch, actually I have several and enjoy them on the regular. I can and do wear watches from 35mm to 44mm. Great video.
I had a Tudor years ago, I would have never made it through calculus without them. 😉. I clearly never had one for spelling.
Seriously, I agree with the simple design attraction, clean looks remain classic and never disappoint or go out of style. Along those lines I’ve always wanted an IWC with a leather clasp. When I was looking at them with some serious thought, the models I liked were about $10k new. There was a watch store in the Waldorf in New York back then and I loved ogling them. I never pulled the trigger and haven’t since. I’ve considered some well priced used Reverso’s and lament not forking over the $750 for one I saw at a gun show. Another wonderful video E, always enjoy them.
Thank you!
Beautiful watch! I need that leather nato.
What an amazing channel. Sorry to draw Emma Stone comparisons, but it’s a definite compliment
Just clicked this video for curiosity and now i love your content. Congrats and greetings from Mexico. New subscriber!
Awesome! Thank you!
That blue is awesome. I had the gilt 58 but sold it because it was too small for me. I'm currently rocking the 41mm steel bezel heritage.
Very nice!
there is nothing wrong for a non swimmer or diver to wear leather strap on dive watches. i think even if we occasionally dive or swim using leather strap. the strap won't get permanently damaged so long it is dried and cleaned well after the dive or swim.
Always a massive goal to grab a grail watch.
Brilliantly put together
Thank you so much!
Wore mine today and it's so beautiful
Funny, this was my Grail watch as well and I managed to get it about 4 months ago. My new Grail? Maybe ta vintage Tudor Sub or possibly a seamster.
Great video 👍🏾 Really Liking this Channel 👏🏾
Thank you so much 🤗
The Black Bay 58's bezel is made of aluminum. The Black Bay Steel's Bezel is Steel.
Both bezel action is amazing, but the black bay steel may be the best bezel action out now.
Both the watch and the video are pure class, as TGV would say ;)
Great video, thank you, Elizabeth. Watch is beautiful 🙂👍
It really is!
Well done review and I can see the love u have for your blue BB58 in the compositional vignettes showcasing your latest baby. It’s really a pleasure to hear your take on what these time machines mean to you and the journey and appreciation from Oris to Seiko to Omega to Tudor. I wonder, but at some point would love to see your take on the dress watch when u take the plunge there. Best wishes.
Definitely will happen.
This piece looks great on you, but nothing is sexier than my OG Tudor Heritage Black Bay with the Tudor rose and smile dial. I'm glad you're moving away from date complications - you've graduated to the next level. Also never say, "I'll never sell my ...." because when you sell a piece you once stated you would never sell... that's when you graduate up to the next level again.
Congrats and welcome to the club #tudorsis 💙
Thank you!
Congrats Liz!
Awesome purchase. I have the same one and love the blue!❤
Rolex/Tudor… Cannot go wrong. Perfect marriage of functionality, style, elegance and precision. Not to mention durability. Some day down the road, you’ll look back on this journey of acquisition, and undoubtedly conclude you needed only one. And it will no doubt be a Rolex.
A lot of people say that. I guess we'll see. For now I am enjoying the journey.
Great taste ma'am.
Greetings from Mexico
I‘m kind of looking at BlackBays since like 2012, when I saw the first one in Abu Dhabi showcased. Since that time I am thinking about adding one to my collection, but so far I couldn’t pull the trigger.
Maybe one day I will finally get one, but there are others on the literal „watchlist“ that I‘m more keen on getting first.
My grail watch was the 5711 Nautilus, which I will never obtain due to Patek having discontinued it in 2021!
So my new grail watch is the 5726 Nautilus, which I’m officially waiting since November 2021…
And in addition I’m now waiting for a 5167 Aquanaut.
My other wishlist says GMT Master II CLNR full Roségold, the GMT Master II BiColor Roségold, the Starbucks, the Sub no date and well, a Daytona in white. Let’s see, which ones I might be able to get over the next 30 or so years.
Thanks for the video!
I love this model and recently tried it on - now I’m saving :)
It would be perfect if it had blue lume, and a better clasp. Also, they should remove the spec sheet from the dial. We know the water resistance and we know it has been officially certified🤪.
Anyway, great video and I still want one!
Great choice as your first grail watch - there will be the next and next grail. BTW, the Tudor bezel is aluminum not stainless steel.
Its a stunner! And a strap MONSTER!
I love the Oris Aquis and own one too.
As a man with a 7.5” wrist, I chose the 58 over the 41mm. It just looks proportionally better in every way. Some may say the bigger one may have fit my wrist better (I lie, because nobody will ever notice what I’m wearing anyway), but the slab was insurmountable imo.
yeah, it's one big hunk of metal.
@@elizabeth_grant still itching for the GMT (Pepsi one), and that’s a cliff of steel too.
Hey also, your b-roll is incredible. Love the production.
If the 41 had a thinner case and a tapered band, it would be slightly better in my opinion
I think the bezel is aluminum not stainless steel
Ooof, If I got that wrong I really messed it up. I just assumed, it reminds me so much of other stainless bezels.
