Thank you so much, James, for this Video! Like to see, that Girls have so much fun to do this. We all know "Shake Em up" and their good Music. I grant this fun to the Girls; like Haruka and the laughter from Cloe...Thank you, James. That´s life!! Want to be there!!
What a treat! Many thanks for filming, James. You did well to get such good pictures and sound in what were obviously difficult circumstances. I believe Haruka is currently touring in Japan, by the way.
Indeed it was enjoyable and such fun. Can’t understand why some don’t see it that way. I’ve searched endlessly for the composer of this song, can you help Pops.
so nice i love your band all the way from Denmark. Pokey is the new Kurt. Chloe is the new queen. And everything about your band is cool. Every single bit;-)
@@pryorlawson6104 Sorry for my ignorance Pryor, but actually my question was... Did I see Dizzy "the washboard queen" former member of of Tuba Skinny? It was yes/no answer. But anyway, I love your artistic involment, knowledge and interest.
Because I am standing in the middle of a large crowd shoulder to shoulder with everyone else. There were an estimated 850,000 people in New Orleans for French Quarter Festival that weekend. I tried to hold my camera around or above her but didn't have much room to maneuver.
It was difficult to get a good angle due to dancers in front and crowd at sides. Not complaining, just explaining. This is actually a pretty good view of the group, given the circumstances.
I have to disagree with the audience on this one. Although I greatly admire Haruka's trombone playing, I think she should leave the singing to others - there are three good singers in the band.
Yes, there are three other good singers in the band, This is the only song I have heard Haruka sing and it is done as a novelty, "Salty Dog" sung with a Japanese accent. Watch Haruka when she sings. She is having fun with it and is not taking herself seriously. If you listen to it with the same attitude I think you will enjoy it. In other words, lighten up.

That was a fun performance and great video, such a good vibe from everyone, thanks James for preserving that for everyone that couldn't be there.
I love this so, so much. These women are wonderful musicians and have such amazing chemistry. What a treat!

I thought you might enjoy this Pops. Haruka is a really good entertainer. So cute!

I am definitely seeing these gals when I'm in NOLA in May!
Listening makes me happy! Thanks
Love it!!

...and have you noticed this one is on their new Album - 'The Boy in the Boat' - which has just been released?
Yes, I saw that. They played most of the songs on the new CD during this show.
Thank you all
Uhhuuuuuuuu!!!!!
Did I see Dizzy "the washboard queen" former member of Tuba Skinny?
You'll see her just about every time this band graces us with their presence.
Yes indeed. Read more about the band here: www.shakeemupjazzband.com/

Thank you Pryor, even though you haven't answered my question.
Cheers.

Why is this woman (I think) in the left corner in view?

@@JamesSterling Agreed. It's fun. It's like when Ringo sang in the Beatles. She's got spirit!
@@paulgibby6932 That's a good analogy, Ringo had three other good singers around him but he still picked up the mic on occasion and to good effect.
