Half a day spent with two of us (incl an experienced plumber/odd job person) trying to clear an air lock in the hot water system. Nothing would work - tried a hose; tried to release air via valve on hot water tank etc etc. Still no hot water in the taps. Then, this evening I looked on RUclips and came across your video 'How to clear Air locked hot water system' ... magic! Such an easy remedy and took
Omg tqsm - literally 5 mins to solve them. Been having water problems for a week but had no time to do it ourselves. Problem solved! Really appreciate it
Had a plumber tell me a galvanized pipe had internal corrosion blocking the flow and wanted to replace like 20 feet of line for a grand....I was ALMOST ready to do it when I found this video. I just cleared the air lock in my kitchen and I'm very confident I can do my bathtub if I can figure out how not to get scalded using the hot to unlock the cold. I owe you one friend, thank you.
You are an angel! Thank you! Thanks you. Final hurdle to two week terror of replacing plumbing myself. Worrying about this for hours. Everyone else's explanation is so confusing. Worked in a few seconds... Would say it took longer than 10-15 seconds on mine. If anyone else with a boiler long way away from tap: The tap 'told me' when it was time to take my hand off. Like you can easily hold your hand over the tap at first. Then you hear the cold flushing around and a little after you suddenly feel pressure against your hand. I held it a little longer, until I really couldn't hold it any more (don't know if that's best/safest, but it seems okay). I don't have a mixer tap on the basin, so I used the bath tap. Thanks again. This is your good deed for this week. 0:)
I just drained my heater to replace a heat element. Now I get zero hot water flow from any faucet in the house. 😡 Been working in the for hours now. 😩 I’ve done this to all the facets and it initially helps them starts choking again, then nothing come out. Help!!!
Pooya G me too. I just drained my heater to replace a heat element. Now I get zero hot water flow from any faucet in the house. 😡 Been working in the for hours now. 😩
NONE OF THE DIY PLUMBING FIXES ON RUclips SAID THIS: turn off the main water to your home (if you have one), turn on the closest faucet to the main water source, set that faucet to cold, let all of the water drain, set that faucet back to hot, wait 10 minutes, with the faucet still on and set to warm, turn back on the main water line to the home. Fixed my airlock problem, maybe it can fix yours
All it helped me do was blow water from under the wash basin all over the bathroom floor. Didn't work! Don't do this. Blew the plastic parts out of my faucet. Now I have to install a new one.

Dinna work! No theory behind it either.
If you want a big mess in your kitchen this works
😂
totally worked!😀
Ibrar I do have some water coming out of the hot water side does that mean that air lock is not the problem? Thank you.
SherlockJo .
If only one water is comming, either hot or cold. Then chances that is it air locked.
@@imahmood1 My cold water not working kichen, but hot is fine would it still work??
Hot and cold water in one tap turn right to hot and turn left to cold water but hot water not coming
Yes it worked
I did this and it worked. but when I turn the hot water tap on all the way, it locks up again. I can hear the knocking when it locks up
Pooya G me too. I just drained my heater to replace a heat element. Now I get zero hot water flow from any faucet in the house. 😡 Been working in the for hours now. 😩
Is this method applicable if cold water's blocked but hot water is running?
Good👍
It worked for me👊
In my hot water side water comes but it’s not hot water. What’s the issue? The geyser works fine temp and water is hot in geyser.
Didn't work. Closing the faucet with hand only extends the water column. How could it vent air. Couldn't get the concept either.

Will give it a try. Thanks
If you have a non return valve, this will not work.
Does anyone know why this problem occurs in the first place?? It’s happened to my hot water pipes twice already
All it helped me do was blow water from under the wash basin all over the bathroom floor. Didn't work! Don't do this. Blew the plastic parts out of my faucet. Now I have to install a new one.
Worked a treat for me. Maybe you had your cold tap open too far and the pressure blew it out. I only had my mains tap opened about a 3rd.
@@garfieldhall7758 Called a plumber to find out my problem. Never guess what it was. There was a marble in the water line.
Thankyou Brother
Let me try
WOW You are too smart! i actually want your autograph #Ibby'sTapHacks #IbbsInTheWinter
My hot water comes but it’s not hot. How can I fix this isssue?
our was like that and we just fixed and my mom is cleaining the hot water the water was burning
I tried several times but not successful.
Ok that did not work any other tricks
Dosent work
What to do when is separate taps?
Same here 😅
Use a hose pipe and feed it up the hot water tap/outlet.
