In the future, well, even right now, drummers will learn from Jean Paul with the same love and respect he has for the wonderful drummers he's talking about up there.
JP, your Ginger BaKer story is how I first met you guys in Atlanta, like 1993ish. I was 16 with my 18 year old buddies... We caught y'all for decades in various cities.
I love listening to knowledgable drummers (musicians across the board, really) and listening to JP bothe drumming and speaking is educational for me as I admire his style immensly, Its fascinating ones perspective, as I also have alway amired Bill Ward, and this interview helped define why.I never thought Bill to be much a technical drummer and skill was there, but not exceptional and I also am not comparing to todays ways of drumming, just over all, I mean Buddy rich and Cruppa was doing amizing things way before ward and Bonham, but my feel is that Bill was such a captivating and like JP points out, His dynamics are HUGE! beats the hell out of those things and then goes soft and brings in the subtle rumble and gave that background feel of the world crumbling as the wourld was falling apart and that, To me is part, a huge part of being a musician. His drumming was soappropriate and phenominal, he is one of the "Best" drummers out there and one of the most influential, Man the profound effect he had.By the way, JP, youre getting there rather quickly yourself my friend. love the beats in open up the border and the opening for let a poor man be, well the whole song is fantastic but you guys really seem to blend all your instuments together very appropriately. keep it going. thanks for the new found inspiration.you're in my top 5.
JPG is without a doubt the best rock drummer of this generation. I can't think of anyone else that even comes close. Also, love the Professor Longhair shirt.
JP is one of the greatest drummers. Doesn't get enough recognition. Amazing live!
EndlessDark222 totally agree!!!! Could not have said it better.
I agree. Love the way he plays. He never over does anything. Does what’s perfect for the band. Groovy as hell.

Ginger and Bill are also icons of mine. They truly inspired my playing. I pretty much agree to all what has been said by this guy. Well spoken.
Seeing JP live was like watching Bonham ressurected.
Funny he calls Brann the Purdie of metal, he has an awesome shuffle feel no doubt in the vein of Bonham's Purdie licks on Fool in the rain.
I love the Professor Longhair shirt, & Ward, Bonham, & Ginger Baker where me become a drummer
JP is great.
My Favorite drummer's living are Bill Award and JPG..
