Thank you for making a down to earth normal recipe without horrible music like so many others do.

My cherry tree produced bunches of cherries this year and I love cherry pies so going to have a marathon today of picking the last batch and making oodles of your pie filling today. Thanks for the simple recipe.

I'd read Almond extract with cherries is even better. Takes it to another level!😋😋

Yes, I saw a video where the vanilla was replaced with almond extract. It compliments the cherries and makes the taste even better.

Why can’t the cherries be used without cooking them? Can’t they just be mixed with sugar and the other ingredients? Like a peach pie, without cooking the filling?
Basically the cherrie pie filling is a jam/jelly. Don’t get me wrong it’s all delicious. But, so are fresh cherries. Just a thought I had. Thanks for the video.

there are some recipes which have uncooked cherries, but many might prefer to cook them first as there's a ton of water in cherries... it's easy to control and know how your final pie will turn out, less likely to have a soupy pie ahhaha

Can i use corn flour instead of corn starch?

    • @lyetaherb4703

No. You can substitute tapioca starch/flour (same thing) for corn starch.

And for further clarification, almost no recipie EVER would require that much salt. A sweet dish like this only needs the equivalent of a few shakes.
