How to make Cherry Pie Filling:
    INGREDIENTS
    4 1/2 - 5 cups cherries pitted
    ¼ cup water
    ⅔ cup sugar
    ¼ cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon lemon juice see note
    INSTRUCTIONS
Pit cherries and place them in a medium saucepan with the water. Place over medium-low heat and cover. Bring to a boil and cook until the cherries start to soften and release their juices, about 10-15 minutes.
Make a cornstarch slurry: add the cornstarch with an additional ¼ cup of COLD water to a small bowl and stir with a spoon.
Add the lemon juice if you feel the mixture is too sweet (see note).
Stir the sugar into the cherries, then add the cornstarch slurry. Stir continuously while the mixture thickens, which will happen fast.
Remove the cherries from the heat and place in a bowl or large jar. Cool to room temperature then chill until ready to use. You can also freeze. Will last up to 4 days in the refrigerator

You can also make cherry strudel. I love strudel with a light flakey crust.

Thank you for the pie recipes. Though cherry and the blueberry, I can't wait to try them and those little biscuit. Cherry bites would be just perfect at a Food Fair. Thank you so much. Great job.

Yep, I just made this to put on mini cheesecakes for a family gathering. My cherries were frozen. Luckily I watched the video before making, because the frozen cherry tip didn’t come until 3:18. Usually I cook alongside the chef (so I don’t miss anything) and this could have been disastrous. For future videos please put at it at the beginning. Thank you for the slurry remixing tip. Super helpful 😊! And super yummy!!

My son loves cherry pie. I usually use almond extract, but I will try vanilla. Also, I've only used cherries for pie. Thanks for the recipes!

I have a sweet tooth. I like alone. I don't want to look like a balloon, which is what would happen if I baked a pie. I would single handedly finish it in 2 days. My solution is to make hand pies. Kept out of sight out of mind in the freezer until I have a hankering for a slice of pie. I was recently given a bunch of cherries. Thanks for the recipe. I see cherry pie on my menu.

Best cherry pitter is the 7 at a time one from Sur la Table. A little speedy initially but I’ve used mine successfully for years!

If using tapioca flour instead of cornstarch, suggestions are to use twice the amount of tapioca flour to replace cornstarch. What are your thoughts?

Cool Whip is hideous, as soon as you stated that you are using that I shut your video off. I will never visit your site again. Read the ingredients list on that "topping", why would you use that????
