Thank you for making this video! Nobody ever mentions that Yoda lost his floaty chair but thankfully you did. They really need to bring that version of Yoda back.
@@tooterp also cant forget, yoda in the original game, jumps everywhere to run instead of hopping with his cane. And as well in the original game Jango Fett's jet pack flies for an unlimited amount of time. while in lego star wars 2 and the complete saga, Boba's and Jango's Jetpacks fly for a couple seconds. I wish they just kept the original, its so much more fun to fly around aimlessly without it running out.
Bruh I've been playing Lego star wars the complete saga for the past two days now and realised that a bunch of things were missing. Yoda's floating chair being on of them, and Dexters Diner. I may be a bit bias because I grew up playing Lego star wars 1... but I prefer Dexter's diner over Tatooine. It's more colourful and is set in the busy metropolis of Coruscant.
Yeah, basically. I had LSW2 as a kid and my cousin had LSW1. I 100% LSW2, and I did play it a lot but I found it so tedious that I rarely even enjoyed playing most of it. I always just wanted to play LSW1 at my cousin's house. Even now, I think about how I'd love to play some LSW2, but I just remember how tedious many of it's levels are.
Vehicle levels suck soooooo bad. The snowspeeder level was probably the worst lego star wars level of all time. When i played this game as a kid i used the bounty hunter levels to get enough coins to buu the ghost characters.
I didn't mind the snowspeeder level, and I rather enjoyed flying the different ships all around in LSW2. Although I was quite disappointed that you couldn't import vehicles from LSW, fortunately the Complete Saga had them!
What I miss the most is all the jedi fight animations. In the first game, almost every jedi had a unique animation for jumps and jump attacks. Like Vader/Anakin had that front/backflip double jump etc. In the second game, they all had the same animations. Like why though? :/
i can't say i agree with you saying the cantina is harder to navigate. each episode has a massive door that you can't miss, and each level is organised from left to right, it's not really all that complicated lmao
There's another aspect of this that's a hard pill for many to swallow. Desite the Original Triology being objectively better films due to plot, acting, and effects and being far more culturally significant, the Prequels had way more creative worlds and concepts. These elements helped make the universe feel a lot bigger and helpwd established further lore. Not to mention its fun to have a variety of different jedi rather than 3 variations of Luke running around. Thankfully younger generations seem to appreciate the Prequels a lot more thanks to our own perception, the good memories, and stuff like Clone Wars to expand the plot elements that needed expanding on in the movies. Edit: Im also pretty much with you with vehicle levels. I wish the scrapped prototype Anakin's Flight level had the original LEGO Star Wars 1 mechanics.
While I understand why Yoda's chair was removed in LSW II, I remember the disappointment when back in the day I realized there was no red brick that enabled it in the Complete Saga. I mean a red brick enables C3PO on Chewie's back for crying out loud!
@@tooterp and a second thing that was a letdown for me in the complete saga was the character creator. If I'm not mistaken you get no geonosian blaster, no boba fett blaster, no zapper, among other cosmetics that could have been added in.
Something that is actually unique about Lego Star Wars II is the "Use Old Save" extra. If you have an existing save file of the first Lego Star Wars present on the console, you can use the characters that were only in the first game in Free Play mode.
Haha thank you bro I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Usually I'm not active for more than a month or two which could be why but I've been trying to upload twice a week which has actually helped a lot with views
Glad to see someone else thinks the 1st is superior, the 2nd isn’t bad but it just seems dull by comparison. It’s a great game on GBA too, very different but surprisingly hard for a Lego game. 2005 LSW is my favorite Lego game, the first Indiana Jones one is a close second. 100% completed both.
The levels in LSW2 are much more tedious than the first. When I'm replaying TWS for the 2nd half i want to bang my head against the wall because where you're supposed to go is not communicated well at all. The only time this happened to me in the original was the beach area in Kashyyk with Yoda and Chewbacca, it seems constant in the 2nd. I'll just run around being completely stomped and getting to 0 studs because I have no idea what to do. I can't be the only person that wandered around Mos Eisley spaceport dicking around with the walkers for 20 minutes until something random happened that opened the door inside or wondering around aimlessly in the first game because one random shrubbery that I was conditioned to ignore because it was only for a couple studs that becomes the grapple area to bring down the drawbridge.
I love LSW1 because I played it so much. I always love comparing the gameplay with TCS and love the fact that it's so much easier getting the minikits. I love the font and I love the OG Gunship Cavalry. I hate the addition of Bounty Hunter Pursuit because it's boring and the levels of the first game always seem so much more enjoyable. I love some of the levels in LSW2 but I cannot stand a handful of them.
One thing I thought was cool about the PS2 version was that if you had previously played the first game and had a save on your memory card, there was an extra you could buy that allows you to play as all of the characters from the first game in freeplay mode if you had unlocked them. Don't know if the followed over to the xbox versions or not. It worked out to having more characters that were available than in the complete saga.
Fun fact I can't speak for the Xbox version but on the GameCube version if you had your LSW 1 saved data on the same memory card you could buy an extra that would let you play as the LSW 1 characters in 2
@@tooterp You were probably like me and had them on different memory cards Someone from my dad's work had to tell me about it and it was the coolest thing when I transferred the save data Old save is the best
Original Xbox, GameCube, and PS2 had that ability, but not the 360 version because there’s no 360 LEGO Star Wars the Video Game instead you have to buy the character pack that cost $1.00
I have to voice my disagreement. The longer levels in LSW2 are a good thing to me, there are a lot more secrets and areas to explore. I am also surprised you didn't list one of my favourite new additions, which is the ability to ride vehicles within levels.
I was wondering if anyone feels the same way and then this video popped up in my recommended. I've always adored Lego Star Wars 1 and I've always found the 2nd one boring. Same thing happened when I've recently started playing through the Complete Saga. I've finished the prequel trilogy in one sitting, because it was just so addicting for me, but it's been many days since I'm tackling A New Hope and it's just so boring. It's probably because the levels are unnecessarily long and lack much variety. I think the only levels really worth playing are The Return of the Jedi levels
I actually quite like Gunship Cavalry in the original Lego Star Wars. I like the on rails gamplay and being able to just blast any object in your path. In the Complete Saga they made this level so much worse by implementing the snowspeeder bomb-dragging mechanic which slowed everything down and made it much more tedious. The Complete Saga I think is a worse version of the original Lego Star Wars.
LEGO Star Wars II the original trilogy is the first LEGO Game to have DLC if you play the original Game on the original Xbox or PC or other things you Get a extra called use old save and then it Gives you every single character from the original Game
