Yet they weren't able to give Padme's Battle Droid blaster the right sound throughout the first three LSW games... on top of making the Complete Saga Battle Droids' blasters of the same kind have that generic sound practically everyone else's blasters have, including Padme's.
8:10 I still don’t understand why they changed it. The original silver pistol was way more accurate and she would’ve been the only character to shoot green laser bolts. I think it was a lazy or rushed character port, like what happened with The Original Trilogy when you could unlock all the characters from the previous game if you had a file from it on your memory card. I remember being so disappointed when everyone with a blaster just had the same blaster with the same sound effect and blaster bolt color... and even more disappointed when it was again overlooked or not a priority in The Complete Saga, yet at the same time they went to the trouble of giving the older characters melee attacks and projectile dodges with custom animations.
Maybe the developers thought it resembled a real gun too much? I agree the megaphone looks weird and clunky, but maybe there was a push to keep the weaponry cartoonish, like how toy guns have to have an orange tip on the end
Great work! Just a couple things: It’s not that the LSW1 sound effects are quieter in TCS’s prequel levels: most of them are just BROKEN. The level-specific sound effects weren’t coded correctly when porting the prequel levels to TCS, so they just fail to play. This is especially noticeable in the AOTC levels. Also, I’m pretty sure auto-aim is still a thing in LSW1; it’s just that the Clone Troopers are all classified as a “good guy” in LSW1, so your shots don’t target them when playing as a “good guy”. Other than that, great job on this! Keep up the great work!
Ya, there is still auto aim in LSW1, but it's less aggressive so you still have to be facing in the relative direction of a target. There was also no dodging for blaster characters as far as I remember. The game would be absurdly frustrating with literally no auto aim.

One reason may have been that the original LSW actually released before revenge of the sith. I think to prevent a spoiler, maybe, is one reason why they used the sith name instead of equating him to the emperor ?
You missed many things. 1. Complete Saga added many characters from the prequels that's weren't in the original, like Plo Kloon, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Boss Nass, Pit Droid, Watto, Dexter, Zam Wesell, there may be more. One note about the different Vent animations for small characters - in Lego Star Wars 1, Young Anakin & Boba Fett had unique animations of their own. Anakin would jump in & jump out of vents, whereas Boba Fett would dive in & roll out.
During the opening cutscene to the level Droid factory, Padme's hand clips through the doorbell in the complete saga. This is not present in the first game where It works as intended.
Because LSW TVG was released before the screening of EPIII, soundtrack for the movie wasn't ready yet, so they used music from different episodes in ep III chapters. For example battle over coruscant uses battle of yavin theme. TCS fixed that.
@@0DRONZER Not as much as you would think. First, tie in games were usually released before the accompanying media to drum up sales why they were still relevant, and in order to meet a deadline of before/close to the movie, they had to be developed during early production of the film. We also lived in a very different age for spoilers ( I talk like I was privy to this shit but I was 3 when the first game came out) where they were a lot less impactful, since franchises weren't booming like the MCU. Hell, I'm pretty sure I've seen 1980 news recordings of the Vader twist being shown in opening weekend box office reports. Back on the point though, Revenge of the Sith was at a time where spoilers were less problematic than they are today, and also had a very clear set of things to tackle as the last in release order but middle in chronological order; Anakin has to become a Sith and get injured beyond reasonable repair, the Clone Wars have to end, all the Jedi have to die, the clones have to start a transition to stormtroopers, the Empire has to become established, ect. If you told someone "the Emperor sends what will become the early ranks of the stormtroopers to kill all the Jedi and only Obi Wan and Yoda live (I know there's more survivors this is just an approximation of the time)", they wouldn't lose their mind on you, they'd think it made sense, with knowledge of the original trilogy and Attack of the Clones. Also, it does help that the game isn't a faithful retelling as a result; Revenge of the Sith is notorious for how drastically its deleted scenes affect the movie, and the tie ins including Lego were faithful to the original draft, leading to a lot of stuff that went unused from the film (sideways Invisible Hand, the disguised 501st at the temple) making it into adaptations, and stuff from the final film (Order 66, the Boga chase, Yoda vs Palpatine, Palpatine's arrest) was either scrapped or reworked (the Revenge of the Sith game only has Anakin and Obi Wan as playable so Order 66 is mainly shown through Anakin raiding the temple and getting kills on Jocasta Nu and Shaak Tii, and Palpatine's Arrest was Anakin vs Windu instead of Windu vs Palpatine), there's also some what if scenes in the RotS game like Anakin killing Obi Wan and Palpatine on Mustafar and becoming Emperor himself. TL;DR Games like Lego Star Wars and Revenge of the Sith were developed alongside the film's preproduction, and in order to release in a time of relevance, came out right near the movie. Spoilers weren't nearly as important as they were now, and Revenge of the Sith is a movie that had maybe the least impactful spoilers in the saga, counting the Disney films. A general plot synopsis was a pretty fair assumption to make at the time and the tie in games include content that was in the draft of thefilm and omit stuff that was in the final film.
I was a kid back then, and the Lego game releasing before Episode III was actually a huge selling point in the marketing in the gaming magazines. It was advertised like seeing the movie early, getting a sneak peak essentially. As the other commenter said, "spoiler avoidance culture" wasn't as big of a thing as nowadays. When the last Harry Potter book released they even had all the big twists and character deaths in the local newspaper here because everybody was so hyped to know how the story would end.
Bro the animation of Anakin going through the shoots looks so much better in the original! Man I wish they’d make the video game more available to play. I have such nostalgia for it.
It seems like this footage from lsw 1 is from a GameCube because it’s certainly better looking on the ps2 and pc ports especially with component cables or hdmi converters or on an emulator upscaled. The pc port looks the best, the graphics are on par with TCS, but TCS has more detailed textures and the shiny filter and a little better quality
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 i dont think they were, or at least no one really said they were. In fact, the biggest piece of evidence that theyre NOT clones is in a new hope, which shows all stormtroopers having different heights and voices.

It feels so weird to see people experience these changes backwards as they grew up with The Complete Saga. I can not properly express the joy me and my friends felt seeing the Prequel Levels updated with the newer mechanics introduced in The Original Trilogy. Vehicles were now rideable. Purple Studs were added to a few levels. They made the podrace easier. They added a 6th level to Episode 2 to make use of the newer vehicle stuff. I am still sad though that Yoda lost his chair as they just reused his OT moveset. With Yoda looking identical, there wasn't a point in having separate versions.
people who grew up with the complete saga instead of the original games will truly never know the pain of the original podrace and republic gunship levels.
@@TheFirstCurse1 but they aren't mandatory to beat the game, they are bonuses. it's a different experience when you are forced to play through them to get to another level.
@@SuperMarioMaker64 i am aware, i have 100% completed all 3 of these games many times. the level is a different experience when you MUST complete it in order to proceed to the next level.
Lego Star Wars: The Video Game was one of the first games I ever played and always felt uniquely different than the Complete Saga. I was aware of a lot of these changes mentioned in this video, but I specifically remember Lego Star Wars: The Video Game feeling a lot more atmospheric and a lot "cozier" which might've been because of the softer textures and lighting.
Yes, this is exactly it! The Complete Saga is very much an improvement from LSW1 in a mechanical sense, but the atmosphere was so much better in the original. The small, cozy Dexter’s Diner was perfect as the hub world, and its music amplifies the coziness by so much! Then there’s the derpy looking character icons, which feel way more genuine than the icons in LSW2 and The Complete Saga. Like, the Complete Saga is a way, way better way to experience the levels, but the atmosphere of the original is irreplaceable to me.
@@0DRONZER I tested it. In the original, Jango can indeed hover around forever no matter how far you move until you press the jump button again or die from a ledge. He's also missing a double jump & hovers at a lower height compared to TCS.
Jango also sinks immediately if you go for a pit instead of floating over it for a couple of seconds like in TCS. He was basically a glorified geonosian.
I know that exact sound effect you're talking about. If i remember correctly it remains in just one specific room of the Darth Maul level in TCS but nowhere else in the game.
Agreed! I was always annoyed by that. Plus, Jango can't do regular jumps either. I'm so glad they fixed that for both Jango Fett and Boba Fett in Lego Star Wars II and The Complete Saga.
Finally, acknowledgment of the removed screaming from Negotiations. I hate that The Complete Saga removed this because it was really funny especially with how abruptly cut off it gets.
Yoda chair being missing really is a crime, and imagine if they combined the hubworlds of the original 2 games to make it half mos eisley half dexters diner
I grew up with the original but totally felt like Complete Saga was off when I picked it up. This really helps to clear up some of my questions about that. I think I'll stick with the original, I like the sound effects better for the most part, though both seem to have their own pros and cons
Thank you for making this. I grew as a kid playing both of these games non-stop. I did notice a lot changes but not all. Thank you for giving me my nostalgia and freshening up my childhood memories. Means a lot.
It’s so crazy that I think I remember something feeling different when I played The Complete Saga but had no idea they were this different. One thing I did notice was the lack of some really cool/funny extras that were just in the original.
great video, but I would suggest mixing your audio levels so they're consistent between clips. Had to keep turning down my volume, but other than this was awesome!
In Negotiations the second protocol droid panel is prebuild in the original; however, in The Complete Sage you need to use the force to get the pieces to build yourself.
I’m pretty sure you’re right. I remember being so annoyed at that (why have a jetpack if it doesn’t help fly over anything?). Glad they fixed in the sequels
Iirc, a number of soundtrack changes are also made, especially regarding Episode III, due to still being in production with LEGO Star Wars 1. I'd have to look it up to check Episode I and II's "original" vehicle levels are playable in the bonus area, but lack any collectibles beyond the brick for completion. Episode III's vehicle level, however, allows for Free Play and sees much fewer changes.
Another huge difference I know from memory is the cut-scene where Padme gives birth. In the original, Obiwan is there with Padme patting her head and he holds the babies after they’re born. In the Complete saga, Obiwan is just watching and the droid holds the babies. Also Padme’s voice in the complete saga is a higher pitch than the original for some reason
Some other changes you forgot to mention is that qui gon, anakin, and obi wan all had different death noises where their voices are pitched up similar to how padme's is in the complete saga. Also, probably the most obscure change is that originally the gasgano "minifigure" is actually in his podracer in the cutscene for mos espa podrace, but it's empty in the complete saga for some reason.
A lot of the things missing in complete saga can be chalked down to how much of that game is entirely from scratch. They didn't just stitch the two games together.
*Discovery on Kamino:* The music is missing in the disco room in TCS. *Droid Factory:* The glass pipe in the second section, which would have a magnifying effect on your character, is replaced by a mesh cylinder. *Battle Over Coruscant:* There’s a missing turret on the munificent class star frigate which you have to destroy its command bridge. You can still hear it firing tho. *General differences:* - You can no longer use the droid commander’s walkie-talkie to make security droids follow you in TCS. - Jango Fett’s jetpack didn’t have a use limit back in the original game. - In the original game, only force users could build things.
Ngl I don't miss the chair It seems Jango Fett was able to throw bombs in his Lego Star Wars 2 appearance, but Dooku still didn't have force lightning.
I think there was one last difference with the original one is that revenge of the sith ost was not added and instead was put the OT soundtrack since episode 3 just came out after this game but in the Complete saga they put the right soundtrack for revenge of the sith
I can't believe how much of this I actually remember from the first game! I played The Complete Saga but I definitely played the originals with Dexter's Diner and everything first as a kid.
The dance floor lasts forever in the original and only lasts for 30 seconds in the complete saga. Battle droid blasters had a unique sound effect in the original. The cutscene where padmé gives birth has obi wan next to her but I. The complete saga obi wan replaces c-3po
A couple of changes that weren't mentioned in the video that I haven't seen in the comments either are that the voices characters make when they are hit or die are weirdly pitched up sometimes in the original Lego Star Wars. I never hear anyone mention this. Obi-Wan's episode 3 variant also changes the groin piece to be orangish red instead of tan in the original. That one is especially odd because it makes it less accurate to the real life physical minifigure. There are a couple of other small changes like that with other characters
Weirdly enough, even that is inconsistent. The Xbox (version i grew up with) and Gamecube versions have the characters with higher pitched voices. But in the PS2 version, their voices sound normal. This blew my mind when I found out, because I originally thought the voice pitching was intentional, but now I'm wondering if it was a glitch.
Lego Star Wars and LSW 2 were fundamental games to my childhood. I remember being brought to tears by the podracing level during the timed parts of the tunnel. I was stuck on the gunship level for weeks. I never did figure out the jedi temple puzzle so i never got to play the anakin vs vader level. I was 7 years old.
Bro I was seven when I played the original too. Gunship cavalry was so friggin hard back then. And Ruins of the Jedi gave me a fair bit of trouble as well
@@bluee._.diamond Interesting that Gunship Calvary was the level that gave you guys a hard time. When I first started playing this game the level that stumped me the longest was the Mos Espa Podrace. Funnily enough my dad beat it no problem. Eventually I would beat the Podrace level 2 more times: the first to collect the remaining minikits, and the second in TCS as an adult.
I get PTSD in the Original's versions of Gunship Calvalry and Mos Espa Podrace, and playing them in Complete Saga because I wanted to 100% the game, I somehow beat them all first-try
one super obscure difference that i vividly remember is that of the statue of the lego figure in episode 1's third chapter. If you destroy it in the original game, the texture of its destroyed face is an angry one. in TCS, that angry face texture seems to be removed. Please verify!
Fun video! I was expecting mentions of things like for each level in TVG where they altered minikit locations/added red bricks for TCS, so maybe there's a potential future video idea there!
In Lego Star Wars, Kit Fisto has a white undertunic, while in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, it's brown. (Fisto's torso piece is reused from Obi-Wan's Episode III version, but the original Lego Star Wars slightly altered it)
One thing i didn't like in the change of games was how some characters lost their blaster color, blaster model and blaster sound. Padme had a shiny revolver that had green bolts as a weapon and had a custom sound, Sam Weezel also had a shiny pistol and custom sounds.
The only difference I remember between Lego Star Wars 2 and Complete Saga was the Beach Trooper. In Lego Star Wars 2, they wear speedos, while in the Complete Saga they also wear a shirt.
You forgot being able to get into the pizza room in Ruin of The Jedi in story mode in the first game. Also the background music in all episode III levels changes between games. Good vid.
I'm gonna be honest and it might be a hot take but I miss Dexter's Diner hub world SO MUCH. I liked the minikit area too I just love it a lot and I think it's underrated
Great video honestly. I’ve always been interested by differences in both games before the complete saga since there was a lot of stuff I liked from the video game version.
Also a note I noticed I’ve always liked how darker the video game version is, not sure why because in the complete saga everything is brighter and yes it does look good but just interesting colors are more muted and darker in the original game, just an interesting detail not sure if it was console limitations
While the Swamp Troopers have the correct green markings in the Complete Saga, interestingly the custom character still uses the old blue markings. Also, in LSWTVG when you complete Defence of Kashyyyk (when Order 66 drops), the Episode III clones join the villains during the fights outside Dexter's Dinner but the Episode II Clone does not. In the Complete Saga, all the clones side with the villains in the fights outside Mos Eisley Cantina, regardless of whether you've completed Defence of Kashyyyk or not.
I also remember noticing when I first played TCS that there's a weird object that was changed in the droid factory part of Episode II. I think it's after the forcefields where there's a tube laying on the ground that you can walk through. In the original, it was transparent glass, in TCS, it was changed to a sort of metal mesh. I played on PS2 only, so I'm unsure if the glass was only used on PS2 or if it was used on other console prior to TCS.
Another notable difference (that I assume you couldn't show in this video due to copyright) is that the music for all episode III levels are from the original trilogy soundtrack in the original game, while The Complete Saga uses the actual Revenge Of The Sith soundtrack. This is probably because the Revenge Of The Sith motion picture soundtrack wasn't released yet, by the time the original 2005 game came out. Fun fact, the original game came out before Revenge Of The Sith was released in theatres, by about two months.
Thank You! I wish the newer games were as challenging as LSW:TVG. It made you feel accomplished. Lego Star Wars: The Video Game was tied directly to how the Lego Figures looked at the time. This is why Obi-Wan in Attack of The Clones has an earpiece. This is also the first time we saw these characters with flesh colored skin rather than yellow. However, the Jedi in the Jedi Battle level are still yellow. 16:34 It made you feel like you were racing against the AI. IT WAS COOL! The Emperor is called Darth Sidious, he also runs slower in the Original. In Lego Batman: The Video Game, the bomber suit can lay bombs, obviously, but the beeping sound is not as rapid on the PS3 version, I think.... *Played on PS4 PSPlus* PS2: BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP BOOOOM! PS3: BEEP BEEP BEEP BOOOOM!
I grew up with the Original game and then played Lego Star Wars II and Lego Star Wars the complete saga when they came out. I have fond memories of all of them.
8:14 Guardian AWARD: Damage Reduction (I am glad that they mute the effect audio if you get the medal enough times to have it permanently active in singleplayer) Another major difference is in Revenge of the Sith is that level music in The Video Game is taken from soundtracks to the Original Trilogy as the movie hadn't come out yet. This is rectified in The Complete Saga but cutscene music remains the same such as Battle Over Coruscant's cutscenes using music from the asteroid field battle in Empire Strikes Back.
A funny fact about the original is that Padmé (Geonosis) was called Padmé, so they’re was two characters just called Padmé, this changed for the Use old save extra in Lego Star Wars II and The Complete Saga.
I remember one detail. In the final duel between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader(Anakin) Vader has the red lightsaber in the final scene despite being blue the whole level in the original game and they changed it to blue in the Complete Saga.
As a programmer, what I see for the reason behind a lot of specific things being removed is that 1 and 2 actually use different engines, and the Complete Saga uses a modified version of the 2nd, which is probably a more generalized engine, not allowing for all that specific behaviour, not easily at least.
Great video! I played both but never noticed most of those. A few that I did notice which weren't mentioned are: The final area of gunship cavalry had a much more zoomed-in camera making it almost 1st person The Grievous level used the battle of Yavin music No stud multipliers or gold bricks Other characters were not playable like Watto, Lama Su, Pit Droid etc. In the cutscene where Anakin falls in the lava he is seen with a red lightsaber

I played through it again a few years ago and I was like “wait a second, is that Knights of the Old Republic music?”
Bro the animation of Anakin going through the shoots looks so much better in the original!
Man I wish they’d make the video game more available to play. I have such nostalgia for it.
Man, Lego Star Wars 1 looks so different looking at the footage side by side
It seems like this footage from lsw 1 is from a GameCube because it’s certainly better looking on the ps2 and pc ports especially with component cables or hdmi converters or on an emulator upscaled. The pc port looks the best, the graphics are on par with TCS, but TCS has more detailed textures and the shiny filter and a little better quality
It doesn't look all that different if you play both versions on PC, trust me
I love that the stormtroopers in LSW1 have the clone trooper animation, implying that they're basically just phase 3 clone troopers
...which they're canonically not, which might be why TCS changed it
@@JohnySlama
Actually when the game was made they *were* "canonically" clones still
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 i dont think they were, or at least no one really said they were. In fact, the biggest piece of evidence that theyre NOT clones is in a new hope, which shows all stormtroopers having different heights and voices.
@@JohnySlama Lucas said it in the episode 2 BTS. It was canon, and as far as George is concerned, it still is.

@@ReliableDiamondThug The original version of those levels are in The Complete Saga as bonus levels.
@@ReliableDiamondThugExcept they all do as those were in The Complete Saga as bonus levels.
Agreed. I have so much nostalgia for the cozy vibes of the original game. Hell, even the box art of the original is just amazing.
same
One of the first games you ever played?!?!
Same here, I remember getting home from school and playing it on my ps2
In the original characters that can hover like Jango can do it forever but in the complete saga they can’t
the games make you stop floating after you move a certain distance, i think this is the same in both
@@0DRONZER I tested it. In the original, Jango can indeed hover around forever no matter how far you move until you press the jump button again or die from a ledge. He's also missing a double jump & hovers at a lower height compared to TCS.
Would’ve been cool if they kept this for Jango to help differentiate him more from Boba Fett (regarding game mechanics)
The one thing I will never forgive the Complete Saga for is changing the Kamino disco room to free play.
Hearing anakins whine whenever you lose the podrace will forever give me ptsd
Ikr, even worse considering that when I was a kid I was unable to beat vehicle levels
6:13 This will always make the first game superior in my eyes. You simply cannot leave out their yells for the joke to land.
13:42 this is a gamecube exclusive error
gamecube moment
On of the differences that had me the most was that jango his jetpack wasn't infinite anymore in the complete saga
Jango also sinks immediately if you go for a pit instead of floating over it for a couple of seconds like in TCS. He was basically a glorified geonosian.
@@AwesomeMooseSmilewait what what pit
@@venom-123 any area where you die instantly via falling. Jango just instantly sinks when going over it in the original.
“The pistol was changed to a megaphone.” 😂
Using the force on stuff like lights to give studs used to make a _SHING_ sound effect that is now absent in LSWTCS
I know that exact sound effect you're talking about. If i remember correctly it remains in just one specific room of the Darth Maul level in TCS but nowhere else in the game.
Also, Jango Fett can hover infinitely in the original game, but can't cross gaps.
Your deadpan tone carries this video tbh
Thank you for making this. I grew as a kid playing both of these games non-stop. I did notice a lot changes but not all. Thank you for giving me my nostalgia and freshening up my childhood memories. Means a lot.
It’s so crazy that I think I remember something feeling different when I played The Complete Saga but had no idea they were this different. One thing I did notice was the lack of some really cool/funny extras that were just in the original.
15:03 My brother and I saw this cutscene so many times that it’s nostalgic to me now
The ending cutscene in Darth Vader is rather different from versions. Tbh I’m shocked you didn’t bring that up, it’s kinda striking.
The original ending plays in TCS if you complete it as Anakin
11:40 I think Obi-Wan's headset disappears after you played a certain level, both on the model and the icon.
In the original game Episode III levels mostly has music from the original trilogy but in Complete Saga it has music from Episode III
I always swore I saw a naboo starfighter in a trailer for the original star wars game. My guess was it was a beta level that was eventually cut.
yea thats the anakins flight level, theres plenty of footage of it on youtube, you can also play it on the leaked prototype of the ps2 version
Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 had so much character that the complete saga is missing.
Yes, you should do Lego Star Wars II next!
great video, but I would suggest mixing your audio levels so they're consistent between clips. Had to keep turning down my volume, but other than this was awesome!
Yeah, also cutting out the breathing in and pauses before you start.
In Negotiations the second protocol droid panel is prebuild in the original; however, in The Complete Sage you need to use the force to get the pieces to build yourself.
If I remember correctly, In the original video game Jango can't use his jetpack to fly over most gaps that astromechs can. I could be wrong though.
I'd have to look it up to check
Episode I and II's "original" vehicle levels are playable in the bonus area, but lack any collectibles beyond the brick for completion. Episode III's vehicle level, however, allows for Free Play and sees much fewer changes.
Great analysis! You should definitely do a follow up video with Lego Star Wars II
They also lowered the pitch of many characters' gameplay voices in The Complete Saga.
@@pathogenofdecay thats only in the xbox 360 version i think
@@0DRONZERCan confirm

This
I know they reused it for LEGO Batman on DS but I’m not sure what other LEGO games used it
Awesome comparison video. I definitely want to see a future video explaining the differences between Lego Star Wars 2 and The Complete Saga.
Some other changes you forgot to mention is that qui gon, anakin, and obi wan all had different death noises where their voices are pitched up similar to how padme's is in the complete saga. Also, probably the most obscure change is that originally the gasgano "minifigure" is actually in his podracer in the cutscene for mos espa podrace, but it's empty in the complete saga for some reason.
i never noticed that gasgano was removed in tcs damn
rip funny skeleton with a helmet
A lot of the things missing in complete saga can be chalked down to how much of that game is entirely from scratch. They didn't just stitch the two games together.
*Discovery on Kamino:* The music is missing in the disco room in TCS.
*Droid Factory:* The glass pipe in the second section, which would have a magnifying effect on your character, is replaced by a mesh cylinder.
*Battle Over Coruscant:* There’s a missing turret on the munificent class star frigate which you have to destroy its command bridge. You can still hear it firing tho.
*General differences:*
- You can no longer use the droid commander’s walkie-talkie to make security droids follow you in TCS.
- Jango Fett’s jetpack didn’t have a use limit back in the original game.
- In the original game, only force users could build things.
16:04 "My lightsaber no longer works, use walker i must now"
Ngl I don't miss the chair
It seems Jango Fett was able to throw bombs in his Lego Star Wars 2 appearance, but Dooku still didn't have force lightning.
I think there was one last difference with the original one is that revenge of the sith ost was not added and instead was put the OT soundtrack since episode 3 just came out after this game but in the Complete saga they put the right soundtrack for revenge of the sith
I'm surprised he didn't mention it, as I found it to be the just obvious difference after graphics and the hub world
@@taku4625 it’s always been pretty crazy to me that Lego Star Wars is technically the original version of revenge of the sith, not the film lol
I can't believe how much of this I actually remember from the first game! I played The Complete Saga but I definitely played the originals with Dexter's Diner and everything first as a kid.
10:50 in that room there are platforms you have to use the Force to, and they make a sound in the original but not in TCS
This blew my mind when I found out, because I originally thought the voice pitching was intentional, but now I'm wondering if it was a glitch.
yea in pc xbox and gamecube their voices are pitched up for some reason, same thing in the complete saga
@@0DRONZERsome other sound effects are lower pitched in the Xbox 360 version of TCS

And Ruins of the Jedi gave me a fair bit of trouble as well
These 2, Both Lego Indy Games and the OG Lego Batman were my Childhood Video Games!!!! (On PS2, I had more games these where my only on PS2)
@@343Films I hated this level, it took me months to get through it.
The podrace was SO much better in the original game! I remember having to get my older brother to help me😂
I get PTSD in the Original's versions of Gunship Calvalry and Mos Espa Podrace, and playing them in Complete Saga because I wanted to 100% the game, I somehow beat them all first-try
Gunship Cavalry is so easy. I hate what they did to vehicles in Lego SW II. They made those levels so tedious.
In case you don't know, the original versions of Pod Race and Gunship Cavalry are in the Complete Saga as separate bonus levels
man so many noises from these games i couldnt name if you had a gun to my head but are also engrained in my very soul
one super obscure difference that i vividly remember is that of the statue of the lego figure in episode 1's third chapter.
RIP yoda chair
In Lego Star Wars, Kit Fisto has a white undertunic, while in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, it's brown.
(Fisto's torso piece is reused from Obi-Wan's Episode III version, but the original Lego Star Wars slightly altered it)
One thing i didn't like in the change of games was how some characters lost their blaster color, blaster model and blaster sound.
Padme had a shiny revolver that had green bolts as a weapon and had a custom sound, Sam Weezel also had a shiny pistol and custom sounds.
Another change was in the Anakin v Obi Wan battle, Anakin has a red lightsaber in the cutscene towards the end of the level
I grew up playing the original version and this definitely made me realize that all over again!
when you play anakins flight (the cut level from episode 1) his “woo hoo” celebration noise is freakin hilarious in the ending cutscene!
RIP Yoda's chair. I still remember my disappointment when playing TCS, getting to Kashyyyk level and realizing Yoda doesnt have his chair 😞
The only difference I remember between Lego Star Wars 2 and Complete Saga was the Beach Trooper. In Lego Star Wars 2, they wear speedos, while in the Complete Saga they also wear a shirt.
A few more: Gamorrean Guards only had 1 death sound and the Slave 1 in TCS was Jango's instead of Boba's.
someone should mod some of these changes back in to The Complete Saga
You forgot being able to get into the pizza room in Ruin of The Jedi in story mode in the first game. Also the background music in all episode III levels changes between games. Good vid.
Definitely remember playing both versions but vividly remember the original version
the catina is way cooler in the original 2
I'm gonna be honest and it might be a hot take but I miss Dexter's Diner hub world SO MUCH. I liked the minikit area too I just love it a lot and I think it's underrated
bro respect, this must of taken a lot of work to spot the differences
Gosh it brings back memories playing The Video Game demo and then the full game.
4:35 Last I checked, bombs from bounty hunters are thermal detonators.
100% would love to see the same for lego star wars 2
*Played on PS4 PSPlus*
PS2: BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP BOOOOM!
PS3: BEEP BEEP BEEP BOOOOM!
I grew up with the Original game and then played Lego Star Wars II and Lego Star Wars the complete saga when they came out. I have fond memories of all of them.
I miss Dexter's Diner :(

When switching character in the complete saga, their name appears under their icon, but it the original it doesn't
I miss the yoda chair :'(

(I am glad that they mute the effect audio if you get the medal enough times to have it permanently active in singleplayer)
Another major difference is in Revenge of the Sith is that level music in The Video Game is taken from soundtracks to the Original Trilogy as the movie hadn't come out yet.
I'm glad that I got to experience the first two games as a kid and later the Complete Saga. Life was so much easier then.
I honestly didn't believe there'd be THAT many changes when I saw this recommended to me. Great video!
Anakin’s lightsaber is red in the defeat cutscene on the level Darth Vaded. This was due to the game being out before the movie. Fixed in TCS.
Great video! I played both but never noticed most of those. A few that I did notice which weren't mentioned are:
The final area of gunship cavalry had a much more zoomed-in camera making it almost 1st person
The Grievous level used the battle of Yavin music
No stud multipliers or gold bricks
Other characters were not playable like Watto, Lama Su, Pit Droid etc.
In the cutscene where Anakin falls in the lava he is seen with a red lightsaber
I would love a Lego Star Wars 2 video like this
