When I went on my first date with my husband I made a list of a ton of questions I had for him on my phone and basically interrogated him, and whereas someone might think that that sounds crazy and might come off as too much I was just so fed up with dating guys and the dates leading to nothing. My husband was actually very intrigued and happy to answer all of my questions and it led us to grow very close to each other quickly. My questions were very intentional about his morals to make sure that we lined up the same. I feel like it's ridiculous to go on dates and just chat about random stuff that doesn't matter when we should be dating for the intention of marriage.

seeing videos like these from content creators make my heart so happy and especially from alisha! I’ve been watching alisha for years by this point and it’s been so amazing to see her grow, not just her content but her, as a person, ya know? I still remember when she turned 22 and the little celebration that ashley put together in their apartment.
these topics, especially, can be very difficult to discuss and that’s one of the many reasons why we need to be discussing them.
I have found out within the last several months that I’ve had anxiety for majority of my life, mostly likely since middle school, maybe even grade school and I’m just now, the last couple years, being treated for it; trying medications, seeing a therapist, seeing a psychiatrist, etc. so it’s been a MAJOR adjustment for me because I’ve gone majority of my life living with it, I don’t know what life is supposed to feel like without it.
in these last two years of trying these medications, not just for anxiety but in my case, depression and insomnia as well, I’ve learned things about myself and my body that I had no clue about beforehand.
I was officially diagnosed with my anxiety, depression and insomnia in summer of 2021, just a couple months after I graduated high school and have been working with doctors ever since then. along with everything else, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, december of 2022. I’ve also come to find my body is incredibly sensitive to so many of these medications that doctors will generally initially prescribe for anxiety, depression and insomnia because they tend to be the ones that take well with most people.
this is still an ongoing journey for me. an incredibly frustrating journey, at that but one I know I will get through. to those of you there that are dealing with anything that’s nagging at your head, your heart, or/and your body, I see you and I empathize with you and I hope things start to look up for you when you need them to. 🖤 xoxo, sydney

Thank you so much for opening up about your mental health Alisha. I struggle so much on the daily with social anxiety and anxious and avoidant attachment and it’s honestly crippling some days. Thank you so much for showing me that other people feel like I do. I was relating to every single thing you were saying, especially with the guy at the gym where you couldn’t talk. I feel like that with a lot of people. Thank you for making me feel less alone. I love this video and have been a massive fan of you since early 2010’s. Thank you Alisha ❤️.

oh my gosh thank you alisha❣️i swear dating is a common category in “fun” but it makes me feel so much better seeing eye to eye on social anxiety and dating and how it doesn’t appear fun to anxious and introverted people like us who feel emotions more deeply and overthink every little thing and detail in dating. i set high standards and expectations too that my anxiety thinks is for my protection and can identify one date as i’m good for a couple months before another one lol. it can be tricky. but i truly appreciate the advice and coping skills we can relate to on this topic♡

I used to have really bad social anxiety with people I knew, for example my own cousins. I still find myself needing time to warm up but I eventually open up and feel comfortable. I find myself needing and wanting alcohol to loosen myself up and that scared me. I feel for you and anyone else who battle with severe social anxiety on the daily basis. Loved this! And love your solo podcasts. I could definitely see how some of the things that you have contemplated/dealt with could relate to me. Just like how you wish you could have dated more in your 20’s but you also understand why you didn’t. I’m 28 but I have no dating experience but a big part of that was because I was busy working and going to school,so I didn’t put much focus in my dating life. Even now I want to get to the point where I’m happy with myself and where I’m at before I put my all into dating and sharing myself with someone else. Also I totally experience social anxiety and awkwardness with social situations. It’s nice hearing someone else’s experience with it and how you deal with it/overcome it ❤️🙂

I love this new series. I struggle with social anxiety, and I felt the "is it all just going to be a me problem my whole life?" On a personal level. It's really hard knowing everything wrong in your life and mental health, but not knowing how to fix it 😔

I remember one time when I had a dress on, it was just a simple blue sun dress. And I needed a few things from Target but my social anxiety would not let me go in! I told my mom who I was with to go in. I felt awful but I just couldn’t go. She even said “your shyness is taking over your life” I wasn’t scared people would judge me it was just my brain saying “I don’t feel safe”. But I love how honest Alisha is and it really inspires me to be more braver and tell my brain “no I’m fine” and “nothing bad will happen”

You should do a video on how you overcame your social anxiety. For example when you talked about getting anxious around people you actually know well but have a hard time getting past your anxiety to know them on a deeper level is something I struggle with DEEPLY and this is the first time I’ve ever heard someone other than me put it in to words and it’s so nice to know I’m not the only one lol. It would be so helpful if you talked some more about your ways to overcome social anxiety :)
