I know I know that laser hair removal is expensive, but y’all… It’s one of the best investments I’ve made for myself. I have thick dark hair and my results are amazing. My hair used to grow in by the next day. Also, it helps with hyperpigmentation.

I've been using it for six month. It's great, i do it once a week, Its soft there, doesn't really hurt. I even tried doing it down there it was painful, but I only use it with the top bikini area, and a little bit down but the rest i remove it with a tweezers and shaving. Also I use powder on my skin so that it's dry, it's more efficient that way. It's been going great. I feel like this routine solved a pain, discomfort and pimple crises that I've been suffering with for years.

Waxing is great because it can also lighten your underarms over time, as it also exfoliates and lifts any dead skin on the surface, allowing cell turnover to increase. Also waxing is a much more even follicle pulling process and will ensure that all your hair is on the same growth cycle speed.

    • @ashleyelizabeth9332
      @ashleyelizabeth9332 Месяц назад +9

It’s important to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells off the surface surrounding the area of follicles you’re removing, so that the hair is more likely to grow out of the skin as opposed to back into the skin, causing an ingrown hair.

    • @Sara_withouttheH
      @Sara_withouttheH Месяц назад

@@superchicken1832 hair will eventually grow back, because the laser won't make the hair that you currently have, grow back but they will eventually die and get replaced by new hair. But we are talking about a long process. Did my laser 8 years ago, and I didn't shave my legs for like 4 years, had to keep shaving the bikini area because they can't get the hair that grows in the inner part. But like the outer part and the legs are still basically hairless, I think that maybe 5% grew back. So I started waxing 2 years ago. Then this year I am retouching my bikini area and started armpit laser.
I will definitely recommend it because even if you might have to still wax or shave it's so much faster and easy.
Be aware that laser don't work on red, blonde and white hair. And if you have dark hair, with a tweezer try to pluck like 10 hair in the same zone, if they mostly have a darker root, laser will be effective. But if they have a clear root, laser won't probably be able to get rid of all your hair (this is what my esthetician told me)

My mother has always had one of those machines I think since I was born or even before that, and one of the best things she has ever done for me is telling me to use it instead of shaving.
I've been using it since the day puberty made me grow hair in my underarms and the pain doesn't even bother me anymore! It's been almost 10 years and I love to do it because it looks better, it's smoother, it last a lot more than shaving and it prevents coloration (at least in my case). Also laser removal as of now is expensive to me so the epilator is my alternative.
I use baby powder to make the epilator run smoother through my pits (since I sweat easily and if the area has too much friction it can prick my skin) and after that I wash the area and massage it along with applying cream or oil to moisturize and help with the pain and redness.

For anyone wondering why its better then waxing. Is because you need to wait for thr hair to grow in order to start waxing which for some people its hard to do and they hate the proccess of growing it. With the epilator you can use it while the hair is still short and itll rip it from the follical 😊

Epilation tips I learnt over a span of 5 years
If hair is longer, trim it and epilate the leftover stalks. Longer the hair, more the pain.
    Use baby powder to epilate
    Moisturize the night before
Always clean your epilator head with some rubbing alcohol because it can give you bumps and nasty bacterial infections like folliculitis otherwise
Exfoliate two or three days after your epilation, keep exfoliating once a week to prevent ingrown hair
Never try your bikini area with this, you will cry for the gods to end your life.
Pubic hair is meant to be trimmed only.

Honestly waxing is so much more easily accessible to non professionals these days; as an esthetician, I would recommend getting a GiGi wax pot and the starter kit including all the aftercare and precare solutions. It’s cheap and will last you forever, with practice you get the hang of it and you can do ANY part of your body. However, if you take any acne medications or use topicals that already chemically exfoliate and increase your cell turnover, you DO NOT want to wax because it will lift your skin.

But if you have a lot of coarse hair or want to use it on hairy parts or sensitive parts of your body, it's going to be so painful and nightmarish.
You can feel your hairs being ripped out one by one and sometimes the hairs break mid shaft. So i wouldn't recommend it for bushes.

OKAY LET ME TELL YOU. i have very thick and dark hair on my arms and legs and armpits so i never ever shave, only epilate and the occasional wax.
for arms and legs, exfoliate with exfoliating gloves and a moisturising bodywash like dove then immediately epilate the WET SKIN, shower with antibacterial soap and moisturise with baby oil on damp skin afterwards. NO STRAWBERRY SKIN I TELL YOU, your skin will be sensitive for the next day BUT IT'S SO WORTH IT.
for armpits, exfoliate the day before then then next day, lubricate the armpit with a bit of baby oil then epilate slowly. shower with antibacterial soap and put some aloe gel on it.
TRUST ME(btw epilating hurts less and less over time and an epilator is literally the best one-time investment i've made in very long)

I epilated for like 15 years.. Started with a base model Braun.. And went upto version 9 wide headed.. Very good investment and each time the instrument lasted for 4 years min.. The hair thickness went down and got sparse and more easier to do over few sessions... Bikini was still a big no no there...
Buuuut.. I bought a Braun IPL and its totally wooooorth it.. I do the Bikini too now and it feels so good down there with almost no hair down there after a few sessions.. I hv to do a follow up sesion a month at most for Bikini... I used it for underarms.. And after 3 sessions all gone🥰.. I can go out now anytime with any kind of dress without hvg to bother..
You need to give a go to an IPL too..

I used to epilate my underarms and I started getting ingrown hair even though I exfoliated regularly. The bumps looked massive! I stopped doing it.

I use it on my legs and the bikini line (i wouldnt advise using it more on the bikini area) and since im not too hairy, i only use it like once a month and i only shave if theres tiny hairs and i just want to get rid of them for a specific reason. The only problem i have is that i get strawberry legs for about 24 hours after and idk how to avoid that. Ive tried scrubbing before and after, showering before, and using moisturiser after. Scrubbing RIGHT after im done seems to work a bit but i still get the strawberry legs, just less intense. However, it doesnt really bother me because it goes back to normal in 24 hours or less. I just dont epilate if i know i need my legs to look nice any time in the next 24 hours.

Started with Remington. Horrible epilator! Painful, noisy, useless and died within year.
Switched to Braun ❤ it's perfect.

Everyone just so easily suggests laser for the bikini area
GIRLS YOU CAN HAVE RISK OF OVARIAN PROBLEMS not just ovarian problems but for gurls who are planning to have kids laser could actually mess up your eggs leading to so many anomalies to the foetus aka your baby.
So be aware of doing the bikini area especially if youre planning on having children in the future

At home laser hair removers are more pricey but worth the investment especially compared to paying thousands at clinics. 6 weeks later and my hair on my legs is 85% gone and half gone on my arms and underarms. I have another 6 weeks to go and I think it'll be completely gone by then or atleast 90-95% which is easy to deal with
