filing your feet actually makes the cracking/flaking worse. you’re creating microabrasions that continue to heal in the same pattern, creating fine cracks and flaking. If you’re someone who files their feet you may notice no matter what you do ONLY a file works (for a few days then you have to file again). It’s likely that your feet aren’t as dry as it appears, but it’s just the uneven surface of the skin caused by a file. Overtime you could start to develop scar tissue in the area making your skin even harder, dryer, and more uneven. just do typical exfoliating like you would do anywhere else on your body (a wet wash cloth, an exfoliating brush/sponge, etc). if you feel the need to use something stronger, try a sloughing cream. It’s basically a chemical exfoliant that takes away dead skin cells without scraping/cutting the skin. It’s much safer and shows longer lasting results (because there are no abrasions). Always moisturize after exfoliating (unless stated on the directionsotherwise for sloughing products) and after coming out of water. Moisturizers (not the same as lotion) usually work best on damp skin. ALSO NEVER(!!!) allow a spa/salon to file /buff your skin or nails with anything that isn’t disposable. If they bring over their files, buffers, pumice stones, etc. and you didn’t see them be opened from a sealed package, request that they open a new package of each in front of you. If they refuse they are not reputable OR clean. It’s unlawful to reuse those things on multiple clients. You can use them in the same client, but they have to be cleaned, disinfected, and stored properly. If you’re too nervous to ask for them to open a new package, you can bring your own tools (new and in a package) and ask that they use those on you. The tools they use often round out to less than $5 (a simple nail file, a small nail buffer, and a pumice stone(which i don’t recommend using for the reason stated prior))
In the Philippines, you get smooth river stones from your nearest river for free. We do have pumice for those who live in urban areas but nothing beats natural exfoliation. Literally all dead skin goes down the drain.

Why arent people just addressing the issues in getting dry feet and heels in the first place? Its from going barefoot too much and/or wearing incorrectly fitting or wrong-sized shoes. Why treat symptoms when you can solve the problem in the first place and then dont have to spend money or time doing anything??
You can actually purchase a standard/inexpensive foot file and get in the habit of filing BEFORE you shower or bathe. You’ll notice over time how smooth your feet will be just by doing this a couple of times a week followed by your preference of foot cream, lotion, oil, etc.,
Nail tech here. Had the worst dry feet after having my 2nd baby and couldn’t figure out what to do to heal them. Prior to I used to have the softest feet! I used my foot file every day and nothing worked. Then I decided to try my baby’s a and d diaper cream and honestly it works amazing! The skin started forming together again and now they’re smooth. I think the lanolin in it really helped soften and moisturize it! It took 2 weeks of daily use though but in the 2 weeks I didn’t use the foot file at all If your heels are super dry I would try to add moisture before taking more skin off!
@@surveytestmoney2550 what I meant to say was that people should try to moisturize the skin first and see if the dryness stops. If that doesn’t work then try shaving or filing the skin off as a secondary solution
@@lavenderangel2655 it’s called A+D ointment. But I think anything with lanolin in addition with some sort of deep moisturizing agent like petroleum should be alright. Lanolin is wool wax produced by sheep. Usually moms use it for cracked skin when breastfeeding. It is super moisturizing

I had something similar. It barely worked- especially compared to a pumice stone. You just cant get a good leverage with something so small and you usually need to press into your skin to get it to scrape well. Also it shattered in my shower when it fell off the ledge sooo
My issue is the size. I started with 4 glass nail files. I now have 2. The other 2 will likely turn up eventually but no way do I want the responsibility of keeping track of a very small, clear gadget. Plus I've used plenty of other foot files that don't hurt and do take off all the flakes. I'd like to see a genuine comparison.
This is what I do: Hot water with Apple cider or white cleaning vinager SOAK. I leave my feet about 10 minutes or so, I then clean the softened skin with a regular file. I apply Castor oil mixed with beef Tallow or coconut oil with Lavander essential oil. I use thick Sox to help the oil penetrate all night This helps not only to rid of dry skin and have soft feet, but also helps you with inflammation and pain ❤ Enjoy
The comments are better than the ad🤣 Since my stupid skin is so rough and ridiculous, I (after buying all different pedi/mani tools) finally discovered a small arts and crafts sander that was $20ish. It has the right grit paper, lasts a long time, is easy to clean & comes with 100 replacement pads. I also use O'Keefe's lotion, which is also great for your face AND psoriasis (was desperate one day, and it worked!). If you have a bad painful crack, baby butt ointment works great! A&D ointment as well as the zinc cream. I know it all sounds weird, but what works, works. Right?✌️👍
5$ tempered class cutting board + 20 min of lazer engraving = 25$, that's to produce about 4 minimum Edit: I wasn't expecting the comment to gain this much traction. I'm tired of repeating myself in replies, so I'll say it here; yes, I understand the point I made was flaud as it doesn't cover over all business experience. The point of the comment was just to show how she's overpricing a product that you could probably find on Ali express for 3$. Will it be the same quality, NO, but is she overpricing the product? The answer is yes.
That's not how pricing works. There's profit that goes into the price, as well as the actual price based on quality and process. So it would be way more than $25...
@@notsuspicioususer4080 , when I Googled DAISO, it looked like just a brand, so I thought it was a typo because I was sleepy honestly. lol. Thank you for clarifying.
Lots of ecommerce does something similar to this in Indonesia. You inflate your prices and put a "1 day only" 97% off discount, where in reality that remaining 3% is the actual market price for the product. Oh and ofc the discount is up all the time, but you wouldn't know bc you're never gonna browse back
Yep, this was prevalent in my country too, but it recently became a requirement for stores to display the lowest price the item was sold at for the last thirty days, so that helps keep the fraudulent discounts at bay. So the sign will say sth like: regular price - 10€, discounted price - 7€, lowest price from the last 30 days - 6€. It helps consumers better gauge whether it actually is a good deal they have to buy right now or if they could perhaps wait because the item is on discount regularly anyway, and sometimes for a lower price than at the moment
There are peeling blocks for feet that will cost you around 10 dollars so don’t worry if you can’t afford it guys. It’s just a pretty thing. Yes, glass makes it interesting, but there are other safe and even more environmentally friendly materials.
Like 40 isn’t more money. Y’all. She is doing a very great technique that is, she first told 100 dollars and gradually decreased it to 40 ., because poor people we will think the price has decreased and it’s worthy now.
😂 great if it wasn’t a reel and most people watch them more than once because it keeps replaying so you can just see the way she did that. Lmao and it’s not just for poor people it’s for everyone and not for them to think the price has “decreased” it’s just to make you think oh that’s not bad for 100 at all and then she’s like it’s actually 40
Go walk on hot sand. It’s also a form of glass that won’t. It your feet and it’s free!!! Problem solved! EVERYONE GO GO THE BEACH! sand won’t rust either lol.
Bought one once. Still have it for over 10 years now. Easy to clean and reuse. But I paid $18 for a set of both a nail and foot file. The foot file was $8. Amazon.
A cheaper way is to do dry scrubbing with a good foot scrub then shower and use pumice stone in shower, when you have scrubbed the dead skin and is done with your shower you dry the feet with your towel and put on foot lotion and socks so the lotion doesn’t go on the floor when you walk, rest your feet until they dry inside the socks and repeat every day or every othe day. This will all cost under $40
😅 It's kinda funny how people like to get rid of foot dead skin layers. I mean, our feet are those parts that keep us moving and have to bear so much pressure and friction every single day. Its not supposed to be baby smooth. Its supposed to have those extra hard layers since they are protective and helps avoid cuts and unwanted poking situations. 🐭
@@pinkxel hey, yeah, definitely. My comment wasn't about cracked heels. Absolutely, that's painful and should be exfoliated. What I meant to say in my comment is that people nowadays want raw-skin like smooth and soft feet which isn't normal since a decent amount of calus is required for protection 🖤
Nail tech here🙋🏻♀️. Just go to a nail salon. If you have this mich dried up and dead skin on your feet you probably should treat it at a nail salon, because u might scratch the surface of the foot that doesn't have any problems and that will cause pain and inconvenience . Our feet cary our weight for the entire day. Idk the price ranges in america but i am sure u can get better results in the salon in approximately the same price or even less
Hello fellow tech! I agree, but if it's really bad it may be a skin infection which requires a chemical/medicinal treatment a lot of the time. I recommend products with urea to help prevent this kind of dry flaking and to prevent infections. Urea also helps to protect the new skin underneath and helps to prevent cracking or severe callousness. People also don't often have full nerve functionality because, like you said, our feet carry our weight every day and shoes are not really designed for foot comfort. People can hurt themselves if they're not careful, and it's always better to refer to a professional or even a doctor (podiatrist specifically for feet) if it's a serious problem.
Hell no, thanks. Some of these nail salons are unsanitary and cause infection. I'd rather scrape my callouses off with my teeth before I go to a nail salon.
Wrong. You can do it yourself at home by using a simple $3-$4 foot file from Marshall's, Walmart TJMaxx or eBay and run some water in the tub, sit on the edge of the tub while soaking your feet and start buffing off all that dead skin! Insurance also pays for podiatrists as well. Why pay for something so simple that you can easily do at home and save your money⁉️🤷🏾♀️
All you need to do is soak your feet once a week(or even once every 2 weeks) in soapy water (preferably potassium or sodium soap/it's antiseptic). It will soften the hard skin so you could "file" it with even just just your fingernails. And moisturize your feet every day. I had problems with hard skin on the sides of my big toes and heels all my life. Not anymore.
Save money - take shower or soak feet, while still damp, rub feet with pumice stone. Stone appx. cost $2-8. After scrubbing, dry, rub with Vaseline and put on socks. Vaseline appx $3-5. If you want to get "fancy" soak feet in warm water and apple cider vinegar -cheapest you can find appx $5. So for less than $20 you can have baby soft feet. Treat yourself at least once a week, you're worth at least $20 👍
Try using chemical exfoliants, like “urea” to soften/shed dead skin instead, use it as a leave on cream with a gel sock after shower for an hour, works great!
They are really good. I bought the fine and coarse ones, and they really work much better than any other foot file I've tried, and I've tried a lot of them.
My dear friends I bought the same thing on Shein last year for 3€, still works wonderfully. 40$ for this sounds like throwing money out of the window 🤔

I thought my grandaddy was mad but he was 100% spot on.
You’ll notice over time how smooth your feet will be just by doing this a couple of times a week followed by your preference of foot cream, lotion, oil, etc.,
Right!!!
It took 2 weeks of daily use though but in the 2 weeks I didn’t use the foot file at all
If your heels are super dry I would try to add moisture before taking more skin off!
Your feet has to be wet in order for the file to work
@@surveytestmoney2550 what I meant to say was that people should try to moisturize the skin first and see if the dryness stops. If that doesn’t work then try shaving or filing the skin off as a secondary solution

No matter what tool you choose to use, always remember to sanitize and moisturize
This is what I do:
Hot water with Apple cider or white cleaning vinager SOAK. I leave my feet about 10 minutes or so, I then clean the softened skin with a regular file.
I apply Castor oil mixed with beef Tallow or coconut oil with Lavander essential oil.
I use thick Sox to help the oil penetrate all night
This helps not only to rid of dry skin and have soft feet, but also helps you with inflammation and pain ❤
Enjoy
The comments are better than the ad🤣
Since my stupid skin is so rough and ridiculous, I (after buying all different pedi/mani tools) finally discovered a small arts and crafts sander that was $20ish. Right?✌️👍
5$ tempered class cutting board + 20 min of lazer engraving = 25$, that's to produce about 4 minimum

If it's that easy why can't you buy anything like that .... I've never seen glass like this
Are you pulling those prices out of your ass?
That's not how pricing works. There's profit that goes into the price, as well as the actual price based on quality and process. So it would be way more than $25...
Where did you even get those bs prices from? Your arse?
Paying worker, marketing, etc..

Smarrrtttt 😂😂 I like the technique, it really felt as if it was cheap
A cheaper way is to do dry scrubbing with a good foot scrub then shower and use pumice stone in shower, when you have scrubbed the dead skin and is done with your shower you dry the feet with your towel and put on foot lotion and socks so the lotion doesn’t go on the floor when you walk, rest your feet until they dry inside the socks and repeat every day or every othe day. This will all cost under $40

The blocks don’t rust either!
There are at least 10+ options for glass files on Amazon in the $8-$15 range right now.
Exactly. People care about beauty more than function.
If I don't take care of the dead skin it starts to crack and is painful. It's also rough and stabby, catches on socks and bedsheets.
