Hi there, this was really insightful. Sometimes I feel I talk too much, infact I definitely do talk too much. I need to remind myself to stop and pause. thank you
Hello Ginny, Thank you very much for your video! I will definitely use “keep going” and make more silence on purpose. I am a Japanese, new Pilates instructor in Japan and very glad that I found your channel on RUclips. Can’t wait to watch your other videos. Thank you with my heart! Sakura
You're so welcome! That cue is a life saver for maintaining flow and reassuring clients they are okay to continue moving. Best wishes in your teaching adventures!
@@ginnymassiepilates thank you very much for your response! I started using the cue and felt much confident. Still a loooot to learn but I am go forward with this adventure! I appreciate what you do. Love from Japan♡ Sakura
Hi Ginny, I really loved your video and would like to learn more from you. My question is, what can you do if you’re out of cueing right and the clients are moving. Yes, we use keep going but again that scary silence comes in and it’s pretty weird situation. Is there any chance you can make video about instructors not counting through the entire class but use something creative to say as that silence comes in. Thanks
Hi Moka - so glad this video resonated with you. And what a great question! When you cue in a not-so-optimal order and the clients are already going... the best thing to do is let it go. If the clients get fumbled up, do your best to get them back on track, then think of it as a learning experience for you as the instructor. Later, ask yourself - what can you do differently next time? Then work on implementing that in the future. Cueing is never perfect. But with awareness, we can improve our technique session by session. And for what to say after the movement sequence is underway... I have many videos that teach on that specifically in my online program, Class Design Superstar. Check it out with the link in the notes above, and let me know if you have any questions. I'd love for you to join us!
Thanks for your response, Ginny ❤️ You’re my motivation, and believe me or not by watching your videos and using your cueing techniques my teaching got better and now more in love with my Pilates ❤️ my clients are happy and I’m happy ❤️ Thank you!
