Dennis showed up to my 9th grade Jr. High School promotion ceremony in Anaheim Hills in 1979. He was there to see one of his nephews graduate. He pulled up on campus on a motorcycle, sporting a leather jacket... much to the delight of all of us students!

Lovely video, so interesting. Dennis was obviously a great guy. Without the skin condition he could have played romantic leads, he was a good looking fella. But he achieved great success as a screen villain, and was superb in his central role in 'Grease', respect to him.
How sad he was among those unlucky people who got Aids in the first years of the disease, (along with Rock Hudson, Liberace and Freddie Mercury), before a cure had been developed.
What a warm and generous tribute to Dennis from Eddie, aka the legendary Rydell High nerd Eugene. Amazing to think of Eddie as a 20 year old, unknown actor, getting the bus every day to the 'Grease' set - completely unaware it would be such a massive and iconic movie. All of its superb cast members would forever be justly proud of it.
RIP to Dennis C Stewart, his work on screen will forever bring millions of people joy - its the closest to immortality any human gets!

This is a great channel. There are so many people we recognize from our childhood that we haven't thought about in years. It's bittersweet to find them again only to learn of their passing. But you do a great service to those who have passed and those who still remember them.

What a great video, I had no idea that he passed away. May his soul continue to rest in peace. So glad that I found your channel Scott, I used to get your newsletter for about 15/20 years and I even went on your Hollywood Tour on my first trip to LA. I’m so glad to see that you are still doing what you’re doing and I happy that I’ve found you again!!!

Thank you for sharing as much of Dennis's life that is known. I had no idea he died from AIDS.
I hate that disease with a passion. It took my cousin in the early 90's. He wasn't gay but an IV drug user. Back in the 80s, I guess sharing needles was common practice. Wes was only 31 years old. My Aunt had already lost a teenage son to a congenital heart disease at 19 years old. This really changed her. Several years later, my younger cousin wrapped his car around a tree, driving home from his girlfriend's house. It was touch and go, but he made it through! 😊 My Aunt however, didn't. She overdosed on sleeping pills.
So, I have an extreme hatred for AIDS. I have so many friends who are gay and for years, I'd worry about losing someone. Thank God for the drugs now available! ❤❤❤

Great video. I just watched Grease again the other day and wondered what happened to him. For those too young or weren't born yet, being gay or lesbian back then wasn't accepted, nor were tattoos, earrings on men, you name it. It was a different time, thankfully we've evolved quite a bit since that time. Dennis was a good actor, he nailed his role in Grease flawlessly. Again, great video.

Hi, Scott. Thank you for all you do. That took an unexpected turn at an unexpected time for me. For those of us who lived through that and lost so many loved ones, the Reagan response was so devastating, that I greatly appreciate you clarifying "bathhouses." My uncle passed in 1990 after only having full-blown AIDS for under two years. His position as a financial advisor in Newport Beach, his sophistication and charm, and both of our interest as death hags and old Hollywood, opened doors to me that I've continued to live through you. Thank you so very much. Oh! His favorite client was Pillar Wayne, who he'd brunch with at Buffums before he passed at 31. He said she'd had so many face lifts that her skin was like tissue paper lol. Take care.

We lost too, too many beautiful young men to AIDS. I was 10 yrs old when we buried our first family friend in ‘82. Over the ensuing 10 yrs we eventually grew afraid to pick up the phone in our house. Our friends and relatives dropped like flies, some primary nursed on our living room sofa.
If you’re old enough to remember those horrible early days, please - never forget ❤️
