    Absolutely beautiful! LOVE the joining method for the strands!!! I've been wanting a cute rug for my office, and for my laundry room to keep my keep warmer on the concrete floor. Great idea!!!

      It's a great way to use up all those skinny bits of fabric. It is going to take me a year to make that bathroom mat though! c x

    I've finally made a bag with your method of using thin fabric strips Corinne! It's quite light and stretchy compared with the other bags I've crocheted but it's so colourful! I was hoping to be able to attach a photo. Perhaps you can tell me how to do that. Thanks again.

      To be honest, mine was my grandmother's! I'm sure you can still get them in good fabric/haberdashery stores, or maybe ebay? Clover, Hemline, Pony, or John James are all brands that still seem to make them, c x

      @@jdmosaics Do you mean the start of the actual crocheting? I'm left handed too but learnt to crochet right handed I believe because that's how I was taught. The mat is simply a chain of 4 joined into a ring and then working UK trebles into it with 2 chains at each corner like a granny square, c x

    I have some scrap gorgette fabric. Will this method for it?

      I would have thought it's be ok, might fray quite a lot through, you might have to make the strips a bit wider, c x

      More or less. Just worked two trebles into each stitch instead of three, it's too bulky with three, c x
