I can see they have tried to improve their recent model's interior quality, but sadly think it's a little too late after the penny-pinching interiors they created after Diesel Gate.
If you want a shorter, more compact 5+2, then it is the GLB, Discovery Sport or Touran. I don't really want an illuminated badge on a family car, looks like the Skoda will be a better buy. Or the GLB as a better deal.
I heard that they realised they had a gap in the VW range that was being filled by the Kodiaq - think it's the more fiscally prudent choice. Not impressed with badges!
@@lisakellet4976 I test drove (and now own) the Kodiaq and the old AllSpace… Skoda was the clear winner in terms of spec, comfort and style. Not so fond of the new model however… 😂
As it comes to the US, don’t ever call this 7 seater VW SUV a Tiguan. This is not 2017 anymore back when there was a Tiguan Allspace. This is 2024 going into 2025. Leave the Tayron name on the Tayron.
The Santa Fe looks like a "prestigious" tool shed, let's not talk looks when it comes to that car. This is practically a Kodiaq for the people who want a German badge, and it's fine if you want a decent PHEV.
Quite a nice job by VW on the new Tayron. It will be interesting to see how it compers to the KIA Sorento, and Hyundai Santa FE,, great video keep it up :)
The discussion on the models in the first few mins is evidence enough that VW has lost the plot. Had a Tiguan and Golf R from previous gen and really liked them. Wouldn’t even consider a VW now - too many design and tech issues.
Wonder if this model will be made in Germany as the previous model was made in Mexico. While my car a Seat Tarraco is made at the Wolfsburg factory and the wait time was a lot shorter than the allspace. Due to change my car next spring so I’ll wait to see this or might go straight for the Sokda model.
Why do car makers, who make seven seater cars, and admit that the third row is really for kids, do not add isofix? I'm struggling to find any seven seater other than the Santa Fe which does.
Amazing content! I've learned so many useful things from this video. Could you make a more detailed video about [specific topic]? I'm really looking forward to it!"
Finally a 7-seater SUV from VW with a plug-in hybrid option. I’m rather sure that more than 80% of all new Tayrons sold in UK will be plug-in hybrids. A passenger car with diesel engine is no longer the thing of these days, especially if we're talking about new cars. Toyota for example has already given up diesel engines in passenger car models, and I wouldn't be surprised if in the next few years will its german competitor, Volkswagen end up with the same solution.
VW needs to realise the type of customer base their brand attracts and stop trying to re-invent hot water... Instead of adding a bunch of pointless "exciting" flashy bits that just increase the price pointlessly in order to satisfy reviews and comments from people who won't buy a VW anyway, they should cut out the unnecessary bells and whistles, drop the price and sell the family and work car that's going to last a decade and more, which is what their actual customers actually want. Anyone that looks at a VW and says "i wish it was more exciting" was going to buy an Audi anyway...
For asian market with average 5.6 or 5.7 height. this makes sense. But petrol hybrid need to be launched in india around 40lakhs mark to see volumes. Otherwise Toyota /Tata/mahindra will kill Germans.
Exactly my thoughts!! A friend of mine has a 2009 Golf.. he has installed a set of Chinese headlamps with led lights and daytime running lights, and one of those Alpine 11 radios that pop out from the radio slot and looks pretty much like latest Golf 😂
People with lots of kids. This question gets asked every 7 seater car review and the answer is pretty obvious. My sister has 4 step kids and a son, 7 seater is the only option for them. Not this one though, those back seats are miniscule.
I am surprised of your support for the worst third row and the ingress to it. Even kids wont sit there. Claustrophobic and VW never improved that. Secondly, Kindly go to china please and compare the cars there with this model. They havent changed at all and focussed on their pride & their product offering rather than the user + user experience. Except for the cup holder nothing was anything worth noticing .
The most pointless car ever. Skoda are going to take all VW sales as the new Kodiaq is just more impressive. This is an uglier, longer Tiguan with 7 seats and is utterly pointless.
I'd rather have a Dacia Jogger for less than half the price! Who in their right mind spends a mass of money on a high depreciating family car thats essentially going to get trashed by kids and supermarket car parks? Anyone who buys this sort of thing has more money than sense. I'm not talking about a small saving here, were talking well over £20k+ saving. That's a new kitchen, new bathroom and a few holidays, plus a 7 seat Jogger that will do everything this thing can do and more. Or you can spend the extra £20k to have a badge to make people think you are doing well in life, and lets face it, if you were doing well in life you most certainly wouldn't be spending the extra cash on a bland an overpriced VW.
In 2023, European buyers bought 30% fewer cars than they did in 2019, because they've become more expensive. It's the whole industry in general, but of course, clueless people like you, never know the full story.
To think I waited all this time for that ugly thing. I hate t he raised line of the rear window that serves no useful purpose whatsoever. No, the 3rd row is for elementary school kids ONLY. Maybe the coupefied Tiguan will look better? it's get a Mazda or even a Hyundai Tuscon instead. It also needs a new less cheap looking steering wheel.
He struggled to explain the USP of this over the other two in the range. What a pointless use of resources to develop a whole new car that adds nothing to the range
Bring back a real 7 seater mpv.. love my Alhambra
The Sharan, Galaxy, those were proper 7 seaters, far more practical
MPVs are losing demand- hence why there are loads of 7-seater SUVs as SUVs are desirable
Love my Sharan too.
In USA Tiguan Base model S is still have 7 Seats . It's the cheapest 7 seater in USA with $28K
How about having three different models with five seats "seems a little bit cluttered" is a really nice way to say.....

Not if you want a petrol version GLB, you can better buy a crappy Renault, seeing the engine is from Renault and save some money.
Oh great! Another giant SUV. How refreshing.
Giant???
I wish they made normal size 6 seater cars with a bench seat at the front. Dont want a big car, or to have to compromise boot space for 6th person.
When are you posting a review of the Mazda CX-80? Cheers.
So it’s the Kodiaq? Right. I shall buy that instead.
no. It is the Ford Territory
I think the new kodiaq is a better car just without the VW badge

VW are so proud of it that they didn't let WhatCar drive it!?
1.02 - If I'm VW I would forget selling this car in China because it will struggle to compete with the local car brands.
Why would US buyers take this over the VW Atlas sold here?

Appears to lack headroom. The Tiguan All-Space seemed to have more.
My Allspace doesn't suffer from lack of headroom as it doesn't have a sunroof. If it did, I think it would suffer
...and still the 268bhp PHEV comes with FWD only......... Even a shitty way weaker diesel gets AWD. I am SOOOOOOOOOO disappointed.
I do like the interior, I just wish they would spend time and money fixing their infotainment system and putting buttons or dials in for air controls.

Why film between 2 different spec cars, just confusing!
Why do car makers, who make seven seater cars, and admit that the third row is really for kids, do not add isofix? I'm struggling to find any seven seater other than the Santa Fe which does.
How does it compare with a Peugeot 5008? The obvious one not mentioned.
Why does VW group insist on making 7 seaters that only fit children in 3rd row but than skips on isofix???
Why don't they produce a proper 7 seater that has 3 full size seats in the middle row. Just like the Sharan and Alhambra had !
Amazing content! I've learned so many useful things from this video. Could you make a more detailed video about [specific topic]? I'm really looking forward to it!"
"Tyron"
Sounds very inner-city
Looks great for a 7 seater
Why all manufacturers say it’s 7 seater it should be 5 seater for adults and 2 seats for children
this car looks nice with 5 seats
Tiggy Allspace basically
Should VW consider bringing the next-gen Atlas/Teramont to Europe and possibly the UK?

The Taycan-Veyron. Tayron is not a good name.
this one looks exactly like Toyota Highlander
No wonder VW are in trouble
345L of storage is impressive - if you're a pygmy
