Mat I've always been curious, how much prep do you do for each car you review? How much is improvised vs researched in the car before the video? Do you ever struggle to find 5 annoying things? Would make a cool video!
Well personally I think the gear selector on the stalk behind the steering wheel is horrendous, as a person that has difficulty with my movement I find it very difficult to reach the control when located there & mercedes are even worse. I'd much prefer it in the center console area as I'm sure many others would for similar reasons that's why some people still put it in the center console for ease of access for all types of drivers.
I seen people struggle to put the in neutral at car washes. The stalk is too sensitive, and they keep shifting between reverse and drive. At least when in center console it is easier. If was like older stalk shifters, would be a different story for has notches. I just drove a 1992 Chevy pickup with that type of shifter. You know where you are based on clicks. Like that in center ones also. Or at least mostly still like that.

This what he talks about the steering wheel buttons it's maybe true with the older models. I bought a 2024 Tiguan R-Line Allspace top of the rrange. The steering wheel buttons comes with " slide and press " no more accidental touch. I try that heaps of times and just by touching it it won't change anything. The aircon is by touching too, but you won't believe how easy is to use it, i love it. I think that if you like something no matter how hard or bad it is to use it you'll find the way. But if you hate something even if it's the best thing in the world you'll try to find something bad about it
11:21 who changes fan speed all the time? I can't remember the last time i changed it. Just change the temperature and the automatic AC will automatically increase/decrease the fan speed if needed
Incredibly generic design. Like any chinese SUV you find these days. The previous Tiguan was much more muscular and imposing, with sharp edges and creases…This one is bland.
I am really disappointed with the new VW design for Tiguan, Passat, Superb, Kodiaq and etc. It's so toyish Chinese design that only badge reminds you of the European origin... pathetic...
Yes, but the only choice you get is the mode setting and volume control. Why do you need that dial for the volume when you've got buttons on the steering wheel and somewhere (if you can find it) in the infotainment system?

But then that was 54 years ago.........
This car looks like a well rounded practical car if you don't care about performance. Really love it.
current one is so much better. This one is defiantly a downgrade, what's happening to all the brands we love
@@cma7427 they try to sell models appealing to the CN market in EU!
Dear @matt, could you please review the new Kodiaq? I’ve been waiting for this since it was introduced. 8:04
“Under one hour gang-->” 🤓🤓
Difficulty with movement? Maybe you should stop driving then, before you crash into a family of 4
I’m not the only one who keeps saying “carwow, your one stop car buying comparison site”😫😂
It’s just a pity VW qaulity went out the window approx 2015 and hasn’t come back. Built to a price just like a Toyota/Nissan/Mazda etc…in fact ide wager a cx60 is better built
When will the TORC review be up? I’m going to pre order one!
It looks way bigger than the previous model and i think it doesn't look as good as the old one. Inside all the newer vw models are all ambient lighting and poor quality
Thanks for the review. As a previous generation owner. I'm quite happy with my car. But speaking for this generation I'm not liking the front design and that gear selector on the steering wheel is odd. All in all this is a very good family SUV )
Car brands are falling off …
How?
can you please ask Volkswagen why they never add a leg/thigh extension on their seats not everybody is 5'8"
This and the passat look so much worse in new shape
This what he talks about the steering wheel buttons it's maybe true with the older models.
I bought a 2024 Tiguan R-Line Allspace top of the rrange.
The steering wheel buttons comes with " slide and press " no more accidental touch.
I try that heaps of times and just by touching it it won't change anything.
The aircon is by touching too, but you won't believe how easy is to use it, i love it.
I think that if you like something no matter how hard or bad it is to use it you'll find the way.
But if you hate something even if it's the best thing in the world you'll try to find something bad about it
That breaking sound is horrible for such a car..Wtf Volkswagen..
Perfect tiguan: interior of this one and exterior of the current one...these R line seats are wild!
I am really disappointed with the new VW design for Tiguan, Passat, Superb, Kodiaq and etc. It's so toyish Chinese design that only badge reminds you of the European origin... pathetic...
Will this Tiguan be available in the US? Are you going to review the Atlas?
No, North Americans are too fat.
Matt, you can choose the functions the centre dial has in the menus
Yes, but the only choice you get is the mode setting and volume control. Why do you need that dial for the volume when you've got buttons on the steering wheel and somewhere (if you can find it) in the infotainment system?
@@mda5003Then why not? It is very practical for the passenger.
@@Itisme-sd7jy The controls are for the driver not a passenger to interfere with - besides, if they really want to change the volume they can always ask... or fiddle with the infotainment system!
@@mda5003 No, the driver uses those on the steering wheel. So you’re wrong, it is mostly for the passager.
@@Itisme-sd7jy Not in my car they don't.
Beautiful design but they messed up with no 3rd row seating, guess I will be getting the 2024
Any 4 wheel drive options with the hybrid? Or any 4 wheel options at all? Any GTS or R model in future?
which is the best family option in this category as of now?
Does it still burn oil like crazy
Huge improvement over the old one ❤️❤️❤️❤️
4:34 I wish all cars would have a fan for wireless charging. I never use my wireless charger because the phone gets so hot which increases the aging of the battery.
