I just bought a wii/gamecube from a kid standing behind me at gamestop for 20 bucks. GS was going to give him 6 dollars store credit. Im so excited about this console. It feels like it just came out to me.
The thing about certain Wii models not having GameCube support; if you homebrew your Wii model that doesn’t support GC games natively, you can “add” the support back by downloading Nintendon’t on it and playing back ups (basically iso roms). Even though you are loading the games via rom files rather than with the disc, you are still playing GC games natively on the console. No emulation required! The only reason some models don’t have GC support is because the disc drive that supported GC discs was removed.
@@NintendoStuff3d I am pretty sure Nintendon’t has support for controllers that aren’t GameCube controllers, but I know that it allows it allows for the GC adapter for the Wii U.
the Wii is worth buying in 2024 number 1 there's a whole game library number 2 you would get a shock of nostalgia and yeah its worth buying but it would be also worth homebrewing your Wii to
I'm buying a Wii for my 4 year old that's obsessed with Mario and Pinkman that she saw a game play on RUclips. So she's getting a Nintendo Wii for Christmas 2024.
I have a black Wii with 2 matching black Wii remote plus remotes plus the same games you shown in the video Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 and Zelda Twinlight Princess my Wii is also GameCube compatible
I bought a Wii at a thrift store for 5$. A few months later I go to the same store and they had another for 7$. And I bought the cable separately. So when I finally plug in the 5$ wii it came with Smash Bros Brawl game inside. It was spotless ! The other 7$ came with Michael Jackson The Experience. Lmao id say two wiis with two games for 12$ ain't too shabby
@@NintendoStuff3d From GameStop you can get a wii for 79.99 ($80) or you can get a Wii U for 119.99 ($120), For the extra 40 dollars, you get a easier to mod console that can connect to the modern internet (i mention this because the Wii's ability to connect to the internet is wildly outdated) with active and growing support from the modding community. Not only that, you get access to Wii U, Wii, and GameCube games, and because of the TouchPad you can even get DS games on the Wii U. With the growing support for the replacement to the WiiU and 3DS servers "Pretendo" along with the WiiU still having technical access to the Wii's replacement servers, buying a Wii is hamstringing a person's ability to play even more games than previously available with only the Wii. The greater benefit to getting a Wii is the amount of hardware support offered by tech repair businesses, not the price point. Unless we're talking about picking up a Wii for 20 bucks like you mentioned, a WiiU is better in most regards.
The Wii is 10x more affordable and worth it than the Wii U, there's a reason why the Wii was outselling the Wii U back in the day, because its incredibly MID. the Wii just has a wider range of games even when you combine its GameCube library too. I'd argue its homebrew community is way more active than the Wii U homebrew community. Also more people grew up with the Wii
This is such flawed logic, you don't need friends to enjoy an older console or do you need wifi to enjoy it unless you're 15 years into the future and todays consoles (the ps5 and xbox series X/S) stops working because they're so reliant on WIFI. Emulation doesn't even feel like the real thing and this is coming from a guy whose used both methods. Also theres homebrewing, in which you can use custom servers to play online

@Razorcat1904 If your gonna use homebrew might as well use an emulator. Yeah the experience is better with an actual but not that much better. I mean I use dolphin
I was guilt tripped but because the video was actually good I turned on all notifications.
It actually worked!

That’s awesome, especially for the kid you bought it from!
GameStop is such a joke and just flat out disrespectful, horrible company and policies

Nice!

Nice!

Not too shabby at all!
OMG! 500th sub is me!!!!
Thank you!!!
I’m sorry to say this but the Wii is not worth buying in 2024 just buy a Wii u but back in the days like 2011 2012 2013 was prime for the Wii
What makes a Wii a better purchase than a Wii U is the price; it's a lot more affordable.

They go for insanely cheap on eBay. Only problem is my tv can't connect with HDMI bc idk
Is your HDMI broken, or do you need a Wii2HDMI adapter?
@@NintendoStuff3d most likely the former. I cant connect my switch to it but tb haven't tested it in a minute.
Id say use an emulator because i bet the servers are down and if not its only fun with friends but at that rate just use a newer console
HOMEBREW

Why would somebody use homebrew software with an emulator? The whole point of homebrew is that its meant for the console.
@AzizThaOne um, are you stupid or yes. "If your gonna use homebrew might as well use an emulator...:
You’d spent all your Nintendo money
Just bough with everything for 20dollars 😅 so idc i love consoles
That's really cheap. Good for you!
