I’m really looking forward to the dwarf release. I would love the chance to get some metal minis again. I am also interested in the plastic ones because I never got any multi-pose plastic dwarfs back when they were made last. All my dwarfs are either metal or the old white plastic ones from the regiments box set where you got 10 of each skaven, dwarfs, goblins, orcs, dark elves and high elves. I’m like you in that I hope they will be the older style dwarfs.
From my limited knowledge or is not unreasonable that "classic" dwarves would be from whatever era that makes it possible to reuse the Battle for skull pass miniatures and if so I suppose that the corresponding metal miniatures would be the ones I want. I also got quite a few of the old monopose ones. It could perhaps be fun to see how far they can be pushed to look 😆
@@honestminis9530 I’m hoping the plastic minis that come back are the multipose ones. Would be cool for the Skull Pass ones to come back too but I prefer the other ones. That does sound like a potentially fun challenge to see how much variety can be put into the dwarfs given they are pretty stout and small minis. I recently backed a kickstarter for dwarf minis that have the look and feel of the old Imperial Dwarf range of metal minis that Citadel did years ago. They were offering resin and metal ones and I went with metal, although the shields and crossbows will be resin which is totally fine. Bood-Wargames was the producer and they were called Dwarven Crusaders
I always prefer the multipurpose ones. I can never stop myself from modifying everything at least slightly and then miniatures divided into leg, torso, arms and head are superior. The dwarves look really nice. Really reminiscent of the proper old stuff :)
@@honestminis9530 I was very happy when I saw those “crusader” dwarves. Definitely had to get some. I do love the old kits that gave separate everything. Creates a lot of versatility even before another kit is introduced. Shame GW typically go for monopose for nearly everything now it is like going back in time to when they didn’t really know how to produce multipose…despite the often beautiful sculpts that they can now achieve. Think how good some of these kits would be multipose? I took a look at the Darkoath Savagers the other day and they are awesome looking chaos marauders, would have been cool if you could mix and match as well
@@honestminis9530 yea, i don't really care about tourneys. I am here to do two things: paint and kill stuff and for a while, ive been out of things to kill.
I’ve played since 4th ed, the only real issue with 8ths magic was certain spells. From what I’ve seen of the warriors list, no skullcrushers will annoy a lot of people (they got introduced in either end of 7th/ start of 8th Ed on wd before the army book. Chais knights have been strength 5 since 6th Ed. So the change to them will invalidate them, as they will need lances as standard to be decent.
As I only have recent experience of entwined magic I cannot truly compare them but I'm happy with that change. But as stated in the video I'm not to impressed about dropping the dice pool. As far as Chaos goes I can only take your word for it as I have no experience at all. I do however have a handful of heavily armored metal lance-less chaos guys on horses. They might be knights and my main reason to field them would be that they look awesome :)
@@honestminis9530 the only real issue with 8th magic was it bad a few silly spells like purple sun that could Instant death models with no ward saves. The whole 2D6 dice pool was far better than what you had in 6th/7th which encouraged you max out characters. The knights thing really annoys me as I took time to paint a really cool magical effect, so that's a fair bit of work made invalid due to some changes. It's rather frustrating. The skullcrusher thing really annoys me.
Old Timer!?! I resemble that remark! I am surprised that they started off the Old World with the 2 least popular armies as far as sales are concerned. I am a fan of both Brets and Tomb Kings, but they were not getting updates for a reason. I did pre-order both boxes because I always wanted those armies back in the day. I don't know if I will ever play it but I look forward to assembling and painting them.
There was no plan to say Old Timers but I certainly feel like one when I realize that I've not only missed the long fantasy absence but also two entire editions :P I have a very similar plan where actual gaming is predicted to be a few times a year and fully understand you!
As I missed both 7th and 8th I have no real clues about the ogres but I sure hope that your wishes at least partly comes true! That said I realized a funny thing. The video actually contains an ogre altough not very visible. It is in the small box on the wall above my right ear :)

Still bringing my skaven! rules will be released for legacy armies supposedly.
I'm not planning on attending any GW tournaments so I'm also concidering playing them anyway :)
