This is something that no one else explaines to you; the power of the rotation initiates from the off shoulder pulling the body and the hips follow. That proves you are a great Coach and an honest one. Thanks
All my years of playing tennis i rotate with my arm . Trying to find ways how to rotate property. Now I found it. Simple but very effective way. You are a very good instructor. Please keep the instructions coming for our recreation players. Thanks:):)
That is such a fantastic insight. I have been watching the tennis channel with this in mind and now notice that all of the pros are doing exactly what you are teaching. Fantastic. Thank you Coach.
Thank you! I discovered this on my own during some wall practice yesterday and was looking thru youtube for confirmation. So glad I found your video describing this exact thing. When the ball is coming onto you it can be difficult to create racket lag and you end up pushing the ball. This start of the forehand swing by pulling your left elbow in activates the traps in your left shoulder which does the bulk of the pulling, bring the torso around and pulling the racket arm along
Thank you so much,I'm embarrassed to admit how long I've been playing and always wind up using my right arm and shoulder to start my swing and you just solved the mystery now my hips and core rotation seems so natural now and finally my right shoulder is comfortably leading the left at contact.Love you for that.
Wow, LOVE this. I'm teaching my wife how to play, and struggling to explain proper shoulder rotation. She definitely is (rt handed) swinging/leading from the right shoulder, and so the swing is mostly arm. Can't wait to show this video to her, and then try the left hand touching shoulder exercise.
Dedication lessons, this is what I am looking for, a little detail, left fingers touch his/her left shoulder for maximizing upper body rotation. Not a little detail at all, it is really helpful. Thanks so much, can’t wait to put it into practice.
It really like the book saying the woman can see the leaf of the tree but man can only see tree as a whole. Meaning when it come to the detail woman can see a lot deeper than man. I don’t know I compare it right😢. But your explanation is better than many coach on youtuber😂
Please explain how to keep the swing path forward towards the target while rotating the shoulders. My last match I was missing way left when hitting forehands cross court. Felt like my swing path was too rotational. This was before I saw this video.
Excellent instruction. However, it is very important to note that when doing this to make sure the hips move towards the ball at the same time. They will act as a counter balance so you stay on your right side and do not spin out of the shot or pull away from the ball.

Its very useful for me to apply this technique, it makes my forehand swing smooth and more power, tks you very much.

Brilliant, quality work👍

I tried and it really works! Thanks!
Great tips
Thanks
thank you. very important part of the swing.
Brilliant! Thank you !
very good lesson, thanks !!
Great lesson as always! Do you think we should involve also the right hip to initiate the shot together with the left shoulder?
I have found that the combination of pushing off the right foot at the same time as starting the left shoulder pulling back helps.
Will try this shoulder rotation tip tomorrow and let you know.

Thank you 🙏
Will this help with spacing too? I am shadow swinging this and it feels good. I hope I can get the rhythm and timing down. Thx for the tip

Such a great tip, and really well explained. Thank you.
❤thanks Luis
This more proper action of rotation swing.Tq
My girl likes to point the elbow forward to catch the frame...is that wrong? So instead of the elbow pointing down and behind, it's pointing forward.
Should your non dominant arm be more parallel with the court and not dropped as shown? Does it matter? Thanks

Same question about right hip.
