Great video, immediately I see my biggest mistake is I transfer the weight too early and my right leg takes a big step into the court as contact is occurring creating a more difficult shot for myself, loss of balance, increased timing difficulty, inefficient kinetic chain, etc. I will try the back leg support and front leg heel strike idea today.
Great video! I can't express how important it is to transfer your weight they way she teaches is in this video. This is import for all groundstrokes but I find it especially important on a 2-handed backhand where you need that rotational energy to add power. As a drill, try keeping your front foot slightly off the ground as you load on the back foot. Lean into the shot and don't drop the front foot until just before contact with the ball. Like she says in the video, once you've plant your front foot, the weight transfer is complete. So, if you do it too early, you've lost all that energy. Play around with the timing until you feel it make a difference in power. For me, it almost feels like I'm waiting on my back foot for the ball to come to me. Of course that mean you need good footwork to get into the right position so you can execute this.
Your tutorial is aMAzinggg!! It makes so much sense! It’s actually the first time I see the importance of stepping in with the heel … so well illustrated. Bravo!!
Excellent video! I already know I sometimes make this mistake with the front leg, and have been fixing it by trying to set up with both legs behind the ball. I am going to try also now to stay low and step with the heel.
thanks for this great video. You explain so easily understandable the heel to toe movement - which I haven’t seen in any other video from other tennis teachers. I finally understand why my forehand and backhand shots lack stability and are rather powerless. I can’t wait to apply this technique later on in the day 🙏👍🥳
Great video, really clear explanation and terrific use of different camera angles to go with the explanations. Can't wait to try it out against a ball machine. I'm constantly falling into (too early) or coming off a shot in an unbalanced way, so it should be interesting to try that push off the back foot and onto the heel. You look so stable through the shots ... I'm so jealous. Thank you 🙂
This video is fantastic! The open-stance forehand at 5:22 doesn't push the right hip into the court whereas the one in 2:30 does. How do you decide when to push your right hip towards the ball or not?
Hi .. I just wanna give you short feedback .. Congrats.. Finally someone make video explanation and demonstration well... I saw many videos because Im very curios as a person and even more as a Coach .. There are so many bullshit videos and just BLALALAL you did something what makes sense..
2:33 is the confirmation I needed for explaining the “drive” portion to my kid. I usually refer to hip rotation but that doesn’t seem to resonate. We gonna try this “hip drive” and see how it works. Thanks! Sub’d
You will lose control by doing that and most likely frame a lot more shots. If you keep your head in the same height throughout the shot you will become way more consistent! :)
"To set up to hit a good shot!" This sentence alone is worth a thousand words!! Thanks!
this channel deserves 1 million subscribers asap. 🎉
Kata and Clemens, Thanks for demonstrating this subtle, but extremely important technique to insure maximum power on your strokes.

Best explanation by far! Keep up the good work

Thank You, not enough videos on the foot work, this was great.
Unfortunately, most of our footwork videos don't get too many views but we will put some out from time to time so keep an eye out for them :)
@@revolutionarymotion4161Don’t understand why your videos are great. I’ve been teaching for the last 27 years and really enjoy your content.

Very thoughtful and scientific demonstration. Going to try these small modifications right away! Thanks and All the very best to you.
Excellent description and visuals to help beginners…thank you. A lot of the videos on other channels don’t provide clear visuals.

Really good! A lot of food for thought and your explanation was convincing
Excellent. Thank you.

excellent tips. i tried this weight transfer technique and my groundstrokes became more powerful and consistent. thanks much!
Very good tip. All top professionals do this. Bravo

Great explanation of positioning of feet during preperation and hitting of both forehand and backhand.
I am a tennis coach in Bangalore.
Wow, great instructional video. I was looking for this and glad to found your video.
Do you have a video on which leg pushes off from the ground?
Excellent explanation!
Excellent suggestion!
Excellent video and demonstration!

exceptional demonstration!
Magnifico vídeo.
Por fin una teoría que hace coherente el basar el golpe de derecha en el apoyo en la pierna derecha. Gracias!!!
this video is great i wiil try this on the court gr. from Holland
Excellent!! Thanks a lot!!

OMG perfect video, thank you
You're very welcome! :)

Der Beweis:"Tennis ist Tanzen und ein Gefühl." Danke
Thank you Kata🎉
I will try it and let you know. Thanks
Great ❤
Haha... the background reminds me of the Tennis Courts at Ala Moana Beach Park 🏝 and, I was right 😂
Doesnt apply to single handed bkh? They always step in with right foot in front and stay sideways??
Thank you
This seems logical. Can't wait to try on the court! Never had a pro suggest this heal method.
exactly my words 👍
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't what you're describing a neutral stance not a closed stance?
Wonderful lesson, Wonderful legs!
Don’t you have to use the power from the legs by bending and getting up?
You will lose control by doing that and most likely frame a lot more shots. If you keep your head in the same height throughout the shot you will become way more consistent! :)
Are you based in Hawaii?
Perfect outfit ❤

Did you guys take this video in Ala Moana Tennis Court?😂
Came for the tennis tip. Stayed for the short shorts.
