V-window does not seem to be activated by link - that makes the encoder control the first send on the channel, and the fader controls the fader of the selected track, not the plugin.. am I doing something wrong?

Hi does the v control pro free version work with faderport or I would need to use the paid version ? I just want my faderport to be supercharged and atleast control sends etc but It’s currently not in my budget to pay for any extra software. Let me know ASAP
