Great videos! Is there footswitch assign options in V control Pro?? Im trying to set up the footswitch for quick punch for HUI in Pro Tools... I don't know if this is possible for both of these scenarios. Right now the default is just start /stop in HUI. Thanks again!
Thank you! Glad you liked it! That's a great question, I'm not actually sure, I couldn't find one myself. I know you can do that by default if you're using Studio One with the unit, but i'm not sure if V-Control Pro has that capability. I would ask on their facebook group since the creator is very active on there!
@@ANAKCreatesThank you brother for your quick response! I also got a response from Presonus themselves and they told me to just hold down the shift button (holding it down until it lights up) I fired up pro tools 2024 and I am now able to use the foot switch to use the record button.. I don’t know if you discovered that or not. maybe that was part of an update. Have a great day!
I got the V-control, but can't figure out how to use the Faderport 2's foot switch to punch record now, it worked using the Protools setting on FP2 before running through V-control. thnx!
Hmm that's strange! It's apparently automatically mapped to punch record, but I haven't actually tried it myself. Are you on the latest update of the V-Control software? I know they had to patch that in the past as it wasn't in the settings or possible controls to map, but I believe they did fixed that.
Totally! Another valid option! I'd say after a while that definitely becomes more worth it, but it's just a higher upfront cost. Originally I went this way, trying to (hopefully) find a budget friendly option, but long term an S1 would be a better option depending on your needs.
I have been looking for a control surface for my home set up for a while now, I love the Avid S1 and have been using it at work for a while now but is a bit out of my price range, and the Faderport seemed perfect cause I really only need 1 fader at a time and will take up less space on my desk. So the Faderport hardware-wise looked perfect but looking into the Pro Tools integration, or lack thereof, it really put me off getting one, until I came across V-Control Pro. So far since using the faderport with V-Control Pro, its been amazing, and I think I prefer it over the S1 as it has all the control buttons on the right hand side laid out nicely and its just a really functional piece of hardware.
Awesome! Good to hear! I do like it with v-control, some things I do wish it had still, but it does make the faderport an actual useful thing with pro tools, otherwise it's really not. The faderport itself is well built and perfect for just small things, so I am glad there's a solution like this. Not perfect, but damn good!
Kinda struggeld on budget so I bought this. Hopefully I can at least use the basic function of faderport because I don't really wanna pay so much for a 3rd party software just to be able to use a product. Have you ever looked at behringer x touch by any chance? It seems to have more function and works with pro tools, just not sure about its build quality though.
I have another previous video that talks about the drawbacks of using Faderport with Pro Tools. Some of it does work, it's not totally useless, just some workarounds you'll need to do or functions that don't exist in other daws (like it portrays in the marketing) - so check that out to see if that answers any of your questions too! This software is very helpful, but does kinda suck to have another expense to use the thing.. I have not tried the x Touch myself, from what I've seen it will be a little more true to what they say about the functionality, since it uses HUI and is designed that way from the start without a preference to any DAW (like faderport has to Studio One), so I think you are right there. The build quality will probably be fine, but not great, as is most Behringer stuff that i've used. It'll do the job basically if struggling with budget. Hope that helps!
Been waiting for this Vid... no way am I going to spend ANOTHER $200 to get the faderport to work the way it should. Over $400 total for a single fader transport... hard pass.
Yeah, it’s definitely not that great in that way, esspeically since ya gotta buy the software to basically make the faderport work how you want it to work in the first place. I hope personus fix this at some point and make it baseline work with pro tools better
From my research so far, yes this is still the only solution for Faderport. It has changed a little bit since this video, but simply added a few new features.

Question... why just not to sell the faderport and to buy an AVID S1? I did that. Thanks all.

does it work with M1 Macs?
Yes, it says it is compatible! I don't have an M1 yet, so I can't test it myself or give any further into this.
Does this works with Pro Tools 2022?
Yupp! I am using it with the newest Pro Tools install currently!
@@ANAKCreates 🤦🏾♂️ dang i seen a deal on one, it’s sold now 😂

is this still the only way in 2024?

Whats with the obsession with years???????????????????? No, it's the only way in 2029
