Thank you Devvon . I have learnd a lot from you. Iv ben whanting to send a donation to support your channel.Money is tight, but when I can,I will. You feal like a brother to me,and a good friend.Stay Blessed!!!!!!!!!!!
Was doing all this except cutting and when I did that everything fell in place and my tracks sound clear and everything seems intact now. Appreciate it Devvon
Great video! Always the go to on how to do things in pro tools. You should do a video on delay compensation. I get a lot of delay sometimes when I use auto tune on my sessions but sometimes I don’t on them.
Good tutorial! but still waiting on the tutorial on your recording vocals such as your equipment used, vocal booth (if any), room acoustics, etc. I think that would be a dope video because good vocal recordings are necessary to get from the jump if one wants the pro sound and I agree with the saying "you can't polish a terd" lol. Good stuff as always though and I appreciate you!! 🙏🏿
Devvon, awesome videos... So you alwayz use the NLS Channel. I remember you briefly talking about it, but can't remember which video. You said it was a staple you alwayz use. You should do a video on it. Id like to know what your go to settings are. I recently purchased it and love the sound it gives to a vocal. But being that your so passionate about it i'd love to see your approach. Huge fan... keep up the awesome videos.
Appreciate you man 💯 can you do a tutorial on how you do a harmony I'm pretty sure we all want to know this and I've seen comments about them on your other videos but you never reply to them

HELP ME DEVVON; I feel that u are SUCH a GREAT TEACHER. The way you come across is very understandable. I am asking if you could please do a PRO-TOOLS 101 ....... Etc....Etc.... For those of us that are stuck. If you can show how to use Pro-tools from the VERY BEGINNING for those of us who are still NEWBIES? IF and IF u do so I will definitely be one of the MANY that would be in GREAT APPRECIATION!
Hello, I need help with figuring out how to move my tempo marker, so I can align it with the transient for the kick drum. In Devvon's video, starting around 2 mins:25 seconds into the video, he goes to the Tempo ruler drop down, and moves the red diamond (tempo ruler diamond) and places it at the position of the kick drum that he spliced. I am using Pro Tools First, and when I try to move the tempo ruler, it doesn't move. Is there something that I am missing, or a setting that was moved that locks it and doesn't allow it to move.
bro im stuck at the same part, exact same scenarion with pro tools first... maybe its a pro tools first limit? Anybody can pick up from there and help us out? Please and thankyou.
@@PageProAudio ok awesome, thats what I figured... especially with alot of the tutorials Ive found from just a year ago im seeing that pro tools first has alot of inhibitors in place so youre enticed to get the main product... so I guess I just need to get organized before the investment, thanks for the reply!
hello Devvon, i wanna learn how to make background vocals. And some sound Fxs like you used in your new song ,like the start part of this song"woo yeah",and chorus part“you remember the time” backgroud vocals,it sounds so so good. And i am very very like this song, hope that you can put this song on Chinese music app.Big fan of yours from China!
Nice tutorial...! I did it and worked like a charm thank you . But I have one question what if the beat is off a little further towards the end, and the tempo needs to change because the beat was created that way? What steps do we take next can you make a video showing that process ?
Hi devvon mate I follow all your video’s finding temp video I could not understand how you grabbed that red diamond shape and drag it to the line it’s impossible for me to drag it please help devvon
So the overall message is include the bpm in the track file name as many times as I can when sending it to engineers to avoid going through this process 😂
If you're just finding it by ear with a tap tempo, what is the purpose of all that stuff at the beginning with splitting on the transient and moving the slider...?
Brudda after you cut on the transient just click the bpm and press t with the tempo and then move the kick to the first bar and then check if all cick are on the grid
Wow protools makes the simplest task extremely hard. My daw lets you pull up a manual tap to tempo tab without all the splicing and stretching the audio. I USE MAGIX SEQUOIA 15. I love your tutorials though . i use alot of what i learned by watching you in my mixing and mastering. Anyway great video bro. I have three songs on my page that I've mixed for clients. Check them out when you have time. Would love to here your critique.
Well its not that easy if you work with old grandpa pro tools mp9 :D ... lol ... edit: you dont click at the diamond - you click at the + left in the corner where track is written.. and mark BPM
@@HelpMeDevvon agreed. Just most people don't feel the need because it's never made a issue. Every DAW exports wave. Beat websites usally charge more for a wave. People just need to invest in them selves and the art. I do like the video. Sorry if I sound elitist. I just love audio.
Been trynna find the tempo to a few beats with the help of other videos but none of them help. Thanks bro!

so leave the slice or splice (B) after you found the tempo or move the diamond back?

is it necessary for me to do this each session before recording my own vocals???
Just curious why don't you use beat detective? It's generally faster

@@YurieJah I figured out that you have to upgrade from PT first to one of the other versions. PT First won’t let you move the ruler.

Switch it from tick to sample
Time base selector
Thanks for that, but what if no drums just voice and guitar?
When you your own producer you don’t have to go through this…
Hey buddy, where can I get that beat from you are using in the tutorial?
i made it as an exclusive for Dev, but hit me up and I can make something for you. IG:TheRealLevensJean

Isaac Marion you can always be off by a bit and that can affect you later with delays and reverbs that are dependent on your DAWs set tempo
Brudda after you cut on the transient just click the bpm and press t with the tempo and then move the kick to the first bar and then check if all cick are on the grid

Thanks so much for the big help. I got my beat Tempo for the first time in years💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 How I can find any tempo for an instrumental 💯💯💯💯💯
on god I had to subscribe cause no one else could help me lol

How to change the tempo of session with changing the tempo of the song
Without
it wont let me move the tempo ruler
same
u shouldve talked about MP3 cause when i started i used to download mp3 beats off youtube and with mp3 u have to cut the first couple of MSs
NVM u said it at the end
Lol I just use fl studio detect tempo easiest and it’s always right.
It is suck a easier way to do this dude lol
Well its not that easy if you work with old grandpa pro tools mp9 :D ... lol ... edit: you dont click at the diamond - you click at the + left in the corner where track is written.. and mark BPM
Or you could jus download MixMeister - BPM Analyzer and find it in 10 seconds🤷🏾♂️
AllSn33r sure you can but it’s always good to know how to genuinely do it and not rely on a plug-in to do it
True, always good to know the traditional way🤙🏾
you are beautiful
Complicated
This too complicated just to find a tempo🤦🏾♂️
You should probably tell your audience to stop using MP3. No real engineer would ever accept an MP3.
Cameron Eddy in the real world sometimes man you got no choice but yes if you have a wav file it’s way better!

Time wasting. Use FL bro.
Onwuchekwa Ferdinand you do realize that the beats you make in FL ultimately wind up in pro tools right lol
