Thanks! Super useful. Currently using an old drum machine that only has an analog knob for tempo, so setting precise timing has been rough. Now I can just set everything to the drum machine lol
I NEED HELP!!! This is great but instead I just get a random BPM. I know the bpm of the beat in my case but I am trying to learn what to do in case I do not have that information and this technique only spits out random BPM numbers it does not work and I don't understand why.
I know I'm two years late brother but I love this video it was straight to the point and I learned a lot. Is it cool if I come to you to get other tips
It doesn't to my knowledge. But there are some BPM finders you can drag and drop into outside of Pro Tools, but I don't always trust those as I have seen them be wrong a handful of times.
If it changed your tempo, you most likely have your audio tracks set to "ticks" instead of samples. You can change from ticks to samples or samples to ticks by clicking on the icon on the lower left of your audio track from the edit window. It should be by the track display option where it says "waveform, pan, automation etc." It will be a clock icon for samples or some sort of green shape for ticks.
If you are getting something like that, you may not have selected 4 bars exactly or tabbed all the way to the transient. There are cases where tempos are weird decimals like that though. In that case, enter or leave those exact tempos and check to make sure all transients are on the grid. But you may have to round to 150.4 or 68.5 if the transients gradually move off grid as the song progresses.
This saved my life!! SUBSCRIBED!!! GREAT TUTORIAL!!!! No one on RUclips mentions changing the audio track to samples not ticks. May seem simple if you know but if you don't its a world of difference.
This is Gold. Thank you.

Good video 👌🏽
Does protools have the create tempo detection track like Cubase?

I did this and it changed the tempo of my beat.. how do I fix this?
same here. it speeds/slows the song. I'm sure it's simple but I don't know how to get the pre-click to not speed up the tune.

🐐 thanks
Thanks man good video 💯
Great video 👍🏾I have 1 question though? So what should a tempo of say 150.4137 or 68.5137 be entered as?
