Just started using PT about 2 weeks ago upgrading from using Mixcraft for 10+ yrs. You've made the PT 'learning curve' that everybody claims to be so steep so easy. Any DAW is gonna seem complicated to a beginner, but once you get going, I've learned, its really just a matter of learning the layout/workflow of whatever DAW you're using thats 'new' to YOU. Thanks so much for these tutorials man, KEEP GOIN!
I come back to this video EVERY time I need to find the tempo. I finally heard you say 'hold down shift' when in slip mode!!! Before that I was always losing my selection when I clicked to try and adjust it. Thanks WW!
Hey man just wanted to let you know your videos are extremely helpful and effective! You are very much appreciated, from an aspiring professional producer
Bro you’re the GOAT!!! Man you’re a savage with your skills. I’m learning so much from your vids. I just wanted to record my vocals but shoot looking at your and learning will help me learn to mix like a ninja too
彡〆Dj Willy〆彡 yeah I don’t know of any other daws other than logic that give you the tempo as quick as that, but there are programs online that give you the tempo if you just upload the file and I used them for a while before I got Logic, and they’re great, so you can try them
@@jdsforza9313 its not about the bpm as i can know them easily but when u type them in the daw it never get it right precise and accurate so it forces u to keep cutting and pasting loops and running here and there in the project loool Was thinking of selling one of my laptops to buy and try mac
@@DeejayWilly well then yeah I really dont know how to help you there, but if you were thinking about trying mac, I highly recommend mac and using logic and pro tools on the mac platform, logic is great, you can get it from the app store and pro tools works with mac os seamlessly, you wont be disappointed, and if you are for some reason, just send the shit back lol, their return policy is very fair
it really is... my mentor tells me the importance of shortcuts... even if you cant mix if you can track quickly and move out the way for a mix engineer your alr in a better postion than most
I make it all the way to the part where you enter in bar 1 and bar 3. After I hit ok it makes the beat very slow during playback. Im using a demo pro tools so maybe that could be the reason
Im knew music recording, mixing and making beats. Though Im still an artist I have my own studio and dont know how to do anything except write music. Im looking to get quality training. Your videos help a lot. Keep it coming bro.
It doesn’t automatically select the 2 bar for me to edit it after I find my 2 bar... it selects it for a time for me to noticed I did it but won’t let me edit??
@@milesmcleod4385 Sounds like you are trying to make a selection during playback, but you have "Insertion Follows Playback" toggled. In command focus mode, press the "n" key.
bro you're one of the only people who can actually explain what you're doing and why you're doing it without me falling asleep in the process. KEEP THESE COMING MAN
since i came across your videos and i like what you are doing ill let on a lil secret to get the tempo every time in seconds. get virtual dj 8 drop your track on a turntable and you got your bpm. dial it in in pro tools. i been doin this since pro tools 7. works every time. try it and do a vid for the engineers.. also when you get virtual dj go to options and turn off tempo sync so your pitch slider will stay at zero but if you forget just click the button in the middle and it will jump to zero and your bpm will be correct
2:08 Does the latency settings affect how sharp the markers will be placed? I mean it's not a Midi command but I've noticed that larger the buffer size is longer I have to wait for computer to react to me pressing play/stop... 2:56 I think you are cutting off the attack of the Kick here. Isn't there an option for auto-finding a zero-crossing points while selecting? *how about beats where the Kix are always late? I mean I'd do the same as you, but I'm asking cuz you might have an answer for the question. I definitely don't have it yet.
Thanks for the information. Got a quick question. What if I was given a piano line to "Here and Now" by Luther Vandross. My client thought the tempo was (55 bpm) and he played to the click however its way off and fluctuating. I need to do something to get a meter in order to be able to sync this track to at-least be able to build the timing so I can orchestrate this. Normally my clients come to me but he sent me this Piano line from Out of town. I hope I explained this properly. THANKS AGAIN.
Whenever I use this I find the tempo but it always throws everything off. The beat is extremely slow and it never matches up with the grid. Help!!! Lol
KoDyBWM this is happening because you have elastic audio turned on in your session. Go to setup menu> preferences> under the editing tab make sure “new tracks default to tick time base” is turned off.
Also in the edit window, make sure the tracks are set to sample base and that elastic audio is not turned on! email m if you need more help. sorry for the late reply.
After I did everything the beat was chopped and screwed but not in a good way lol I’m using Pro Tools First. And saw you reply to somebody bout Set Up menu and Preferences but don’t see that stuff under Setup in PT First. Any other way to turn off the elastic audio stuff ?
The first pro tool video that's enjoyable to watch and i'm learning without falling a sleep.
Amen to that 🤙🏽

Thank you thank you. So helpful and I learned about trimming to a zero crossing in the process.
So glad I found this channel.
i cant imagine how hard is it to just find bpm of a song with all the technology around in other DAWS pro tools is in the flintstones era
facts man, in logic you click 2 buttons and you got the BPM instantly, this is kinda annoying
@@jdsforza9313 honestly i feel most of DAW'S are the same in this matter and i mean in windows os

If you use tab to transient with this method it streamlines the workflow and takes out the extra steps of trying to get to right on the down beat 😉
