Lego Rock Raiders Manic Miners First Person only

I decided to try this next mission out in first person only! It is a very different experience this way, worth trying out!

My dawg. I have Rock Raiders on disc and never got that far when I was young, but I remember somehow going first-person in comparison to a top-down RTS.

Way back in the day it was a challenge to go even this far in the original mission, mainly because the AI got confused so easily in the original. But there was always something that kept drawing me back to the game, it had a really cool style and charm to it, and the fact that you could go in First Person was mind blowing to me! I did eventually finish the original game, but had alot of hurdles and challenges to get through to do it, mainly technical. Manic Miners solved ALL of those issues!

...I would never in a million years have thought of shooting the spiders to clear them out, what a brilliant addition!
This was a super fun challenge to watch -- reminds me of when I used to spend hours as a kid manually drilling every wall in a map the moment I got my hands on a Small Digger. I don't know if I'd want to see every mission in this style, but I'd definitely watch at least a few more!

One time I got tripped up and thought "ok, I wanna see if this works!" Shot a spider and it actually worked! Originally in the classic game they were just flat images scrolling across the floor but its really cool that the spiders actually have 3D models now!
There are a few missions where going first person only might be a bit too much, like when you are running from rapid lava erosion with a group, I think that was mission "Lava Laughter?" I wouldn't do a full campaign playthrough just in first person, but it is cool to experiment with!
