Hey man, stop beating yourself up they're gorgeous photos especially the sunrise ones with that padparadscha coloured dawn sky. Amazing lens, first attempt, I'd be proud of those. Believe in your skills , onward forward. Thanks for uploading.
Fantastic! We have dedicated "dark sky" areas here in NS so that the stars shows amazingly in the night sky. Fantastic remnants of mining history. A lot of ours have succumbed to the elements, especially the freeze and thaw cycles. Your light illumination reminds me of Boris Karloff! lol Wow, I'd say you did amazing! I've always wanted to give it a try. There is a fella in the neighbourhood that does this out on his back deck and what he is able to capture is amazing...but he has thousands of dollars of equipment that actually tracks the movement of the stars and everything. Being your first Milky Way, you did brilliantly, but I know we are always our worse critics! I am sure there will be more! Home now for a good breakfast and a well deserved nap! lol Bruce and Otis
Wow thanks you mate. Yes star tracker would be great but im a novice so ill stick to the basics for now.First light was about 5.15am and couldn't see it with the naked eye, only the long exposure could i see the pinks on the horizon. Have a good one Bruce and Otis.
WOW! Those were amazing, especially considering it was your first attempt and with a new lens and being out in the pitch dark by yourself! Loved that structure that gives such unique local character. I'm glad your initial frustrations aren't dissuading you but only seem to fuel your fire to try more!
That composition is outstanding, it was great to learn about your process for capturing a killer astro shot! I'm new to this style of photography so I really appreciate the insight! Excellent work as always my friend!
Nice one Jeremy. You should commend yourself for getting up that early and having a go. Good results photographically. Get yourself a Hurricane Lamp it will look cool in your vlogs. 'You're lucky to have great dark skies and I'm looking forward to seeing more 'Tails from the dark side' or 'Tails from the outback' 🤠🦘
Like it mate "trails from the dark side", it was hard to get up at 3.50am as the season moves along the milky way will be above me at 10pm so wont be as bad.
Practice, Practice, Practice!! As you said, you're in the perfect location to shoot Astro with those dark skies. Look into a free stacking software "Sequator" for Windows computers, and watch a couple of tutorials, as this will clean up your images and get you more detail in the sky.
Yeah i was going to do ten images but got there too late, you could see the first light of the sunrise in the long exposure but not with the naked eye. Cheers brother.
Great work Jeremy, particularly given its been such a long time - astro ain't easy! That's a really impressive structure to use too. Your 5am shot is my pick - for me its got a great balance of the pre-dawn glow while still seeing the milky way clearly. Looking forward to seeing more astro from you with those lovely dark skies. I hope you've been well!
That was too good mate! What a cool structure to put in the foreground,.almost like it was pointing up to the Milky Way. Did you have to light paint it? Looks like an amazing lens you purchased there, you will definitely get some good astro shots with it! Friggin' dark out there, creepy! Gotta be weird being out there in the pitch black. No Dingos about? Great images in this one, especially for single shots. Really liked the first one and the last one as it got closer to dawn. Amazing stuff mate, well worth the wait for Milky Way season! Looking forward to more of these! Chat soon with ya pal.
Thanks brother!, didn't see any dingos but as i was setting up i heard this animal moving and put my torch in that direction only to see a kangaroo hoping away. It was pitch black mate and made it frustrating but towards the end i got a nice image. The mind plays tricks on you when you are alone and you cant see your hand in front of your face. Thanks again brother.
Great video J, and good to see you working outside your comfort zone. Pushing through that learning barrier can be tough but you did a fantastic job, even if you insist on calling yourself rusty. Lovely images buddy 🙏🙏🙏
Great shots. And it is the first time I’ve seen video with Milky Way and sunrise! I did not realize you could get such detail in one shot of the Milky Way and fiery sunrise.
In the outback you have nothing at all on the horizon, even after sun set using a 5 sec exposure you get this bright pink hue that you cant see with the naked eye.
Hi Jeremy , i have never tried milky way photography before but looking at the images you got its something i would really like to try. The images were fantastic, really really liked them mate, im sure it was a tricky shoot but i think it really paid off, id be over the moon with them results !
Nice shots mate love it. Where I'm the outback is the ripper location? I'm just starting out in landscape photography and about to purchase either a Canon Eos r or a Nikon z6 not to sure which one to go with yet. But will be keen to try out the astro stuff eventually. I also live out the bush so the stars are brilliant.
great shots for your first try., i just ordered the same lens for my z5 cant wait to get out on a clear night , btw did you try taking any shot with it in landscape orientation as opposed to portrait ?
Tried a Landscape orientation, but didn't pay attention and cropped some the milky way out lol, so next time ill take my time. Ill go back and get a landscape when the moon phase is right again!.
Well done JP and I loved those predawn shots with the colour on the horizon. Can’t wait to see more from you with this genre, keep up the good work mate!👍
Very interesting mate, i didn’t know that gold come from iron ore as well. I love this sort of stuff! Wow the 2nd and 3rd shot was great balance between the core and the rising sun. Beautiful mate! How did you enjoy the new lens?
Thanks for watching legends.
They're all great, and what a perfect location! Thanks for taking us along and pleased you were fly and mozzie free 😊🇦🇺
Not one fly or mozzie, but in the pitch black ogf the morning i did hear things out there moving round which was unsettling hahaha.
Just caught up with this one Jeremy. I can see you've put a lot of effort into making this video mate . .really well done.
Thanks mate, this vlogging at night gig is hard work.
Beautiful images, mate. 8:28 is awesome, love the sunrise colors under the milky way.
Thanks Paul, yeah the colours where really popping and about 5.30am
Mate, bloody awesome shots if you ask me
Cheers Cliff.

Great drone shots mate, I really enjoy your honest approach to making content. The last shot you took was a favorite for me.
Thanks for your comment and the last was my favorite too.

Thank you, yeah i was getting mad with myself but ill try to go easier on myself .
Excellent shots JP. That’s a nice comp and the Milky Way is amazing out there in the middle. Thanks for giving it a go!
Yeah thanks Big J, i was out in the pitch dark.
You might have been too wrapt in the images mate but I loved them. Especially the 5.30am shot. Well done Jeremy.
Cheers mate, yeah probably a little hard on myself in the end.

Thank mate. needed someone to hold my hand in the dark!.
I thought as much!

Great shots Jeremy, is it not the best being out there to photograph the milky way. I only started doing it last year and it so much fun. :)
Yes it is and very rewarding when you get a shot.
